Is GoW really only 8-9 hours?? That kinda seems a rip off for a SP only game that short. You would think with such a short SP they could add some online to extend the life of the game some. Heck you can not even play it as co-op.

I am sorry but I have been gaming since the 2600 and online is not needed in every damn game. I would rather play a great story driven game like Gow3, Yakuza3, heavy rain, dragon age, FF13, Star Ocean 4, Demons souls, ratchet and clank then any multiplayer game. Hell I could live with just quake 3 for the rest of my life if I could get more and more single player masterpieces. Its becasue of people like this that they shove multiplayer in games like bioshock2 which could of been much better in the single player department. You lems only play halo right? why does every game need multiplayer? is it because you have to pay for it? You can get a crap ton of replay out of a god of war game, and they are always fun to play over again which is why its good to have in your collection.

So who determines what content is enough content? Something like that is not universal, and cannot be measured, as people have differing expectations. GOWIII offers the same content as most other hack and slash games, so why would it be compared to an FPS game? The comparison makes little to no sense.

The game is more like 13-14 hours. Anyone that gets through in 8-9 hours either has cheat codes on, or they're speed running the game. Super Mario 64 can be speed runned in 1 hr. Does that make it an hr long game? No. Besides, you can put the game on hard mode. PS, where were these length concerns when Bayonetta released. You seemed to have nothing but praise for the game.....

ODST also had the Firefight coop game mode which can give you another 8-10 hours of playtime.

well enjoy it because the game is almost over already

god of war III. singleplayer only yes. is this different from the others that got AAA? no. was it longer than 6 hours? so i hear (don't have it). halo odst, it had a "multiplayer" mode of firefight. you could only play with friends as there was no matchmaking. few map choice and the fact that it just did the same thing as WaW, Uncharted 2, and Gears of War 2 (wave gametype) without any real changes (zombies had traps, uncharted had gold, gears did it before the rest so it gets a pass).

what killed it for me is that it cost $60 and lasted me only 3 hours on its hardest difficulty. if it were $40 like EFLC, it would've been ok. but Microsoft and Bungie swore that it was a full game when really it was just an expansion with halo 3 mp copy/pasted in. any real halo fan already had 3 and all its mappacks, so this was an even bigger ripoff.

if god of war 3 doesn't deserve AAA and odst doesnt even deserve AA. trading it in as soon as the reach beta ends. /rant

All I'll say is that GOW 3 redefines "Epic".

The funny thing is that this thread shows the stark contrast between the people who have ACTUALLY played it and those who are judging the game and just happen to dislike the PS3 (without playing gow iii)

I don't care what system you prefer or claim allegiance to. You HAVE to play GoW III to understand how this game re defines epic while having ridiculously fun combat.

I must be lucky because after I finish a SP game I can still play it over and over again if I enjoyed it. It must suck for those who think "It's only 10 hours and then you're done and never play it again" because apparently their games erase themselves once its over.
