Gran Turismo 5 Spec 2 Discussion Thread - Out Now - 56k Warning

This is by far the largest update to hit GT5 and possibly the largest DLC made for any racing game in gaming history.

I believe this deserves a bit of hype before its release on the 11th. Why?

Features

• Simplified interior views added to all standard cars.
• User control of the weather change feature.
• Settings sheet which allows you to save multiple car settings.
• New Spec 2.0 opening movie.
• Improved UI response and usability.
• Replay forward/rewind.
• Mid-race save feature for endurance races.
• Expanded online lounge features (narrowing down car types, shuffle races).
• Expanded Photo Travel features (you can now take photos of cars together with your avatar).
• Added "NASCAR Pit Scene" stage to Photo Travel.
• Added 11 new 2011 NASCAR models.
• Added theNissan GT-R N24 SchulzeMotorsport(the car in which Kazunori contested the 2011 Nurburgring 24 Hours).
• Improved physics and artificial intelligence.
• Support for the Logitech G25/G27 steering wheel.

Another thing that should be discussed is if the reviews for the game are even relevant anymore. Most of the critisisms have been taken care of through these mandatory updates and DLC.

For a minute there i thought i went back in time :P, sounds like a huge update and all for free? wow no wonder this series is huge

Say what you want about GT5...this free DLC is quite impressive.

At least half of those updates should have been in when the game launched. :roll:

i wish they would just finish the cars, having 800 cars that look a little tad better than ps2 graphics is inexcusable

It being free sorta makes up for it me thinks.:P I got GT5 2 months ago and honestly I think the game simply wasn't ready for launch last year... Which is just sad.:P It's still a great game after all the updates it got. Hope they organize GT6 better... Or already have been organizing and working on it.:)

Crackdown 2 was great and deserved an 8/10

Hype for what belonged in the game at launch? It still features ps2 ported tracks, cars, and terrible sounding cars with often overly loud transmissions right? 'til that all is 'patched' I don't care about GT5, it's dead to me.

To be totally honest with you guys, I still have my PS3, never play it and I don't even own GT5.

Oh but they did, they simply said eventually the new features make it feel different, GB however did say it was forza 3.5 through and through :)

Lots of negativity in this thread, I'm personally looking forward to it. GT5 has a great base as a driving simulator, it's good that Polyphony are attempting to iron out those rough edges that made it a disappointment to many.
