That's a joke, right? Ahahah.
The image, presented as a whole, runs at 60 fps. You can't add up the framerates like that just because the end-result is actually 4 seperate images.
[QUOTE="Unforgiven2870"][QUOTE="masiisam"]U realize that part was just bait right?GT5>Fm2??
Is that the level we are at?? Comparing a 4+ year old game(by the time GT5 hits)??

Unforgiven is a cannibal? Skip that holiday party he invited me to!
Dang. And I was all ready to bring this up before anyone else. Oh well. But yeah, they already basically did this with Forza 2. Just 4x Full HD 1080P and 240 FPS sounds so much more awesome than Forza 2 on three monitors.http://forzamotorsport.net/news/drivingtuning/triplescreen.htm
Not as big a screen, but it is technically feasible for anyone who wants to play Forza 2 in this manner, rather than a programmed demo.

Each system renders 60 frames in a second, but they are staggered by 4s, so box one does frame 1, box 2 does frame 2, etc. They are synched, and it produces a 240 FPS image.

That Brilliant Mind has brought us this amazing achievement...without him this was impossible...CUring cancer and now this....Kutaragi is 10x smarter than Einstein......

He was a visonary!
Anyone who knew anything about hardware knew the Cell was fantastic at synchronized rendering....
Hence why Sony shot themselves in the foot by putting a weaker version of the Cell inot the PS and only having 1 Cell....
They WOULD have a clear advantage if they had not drastically changed specifications last second so as to cut the cost... But making the PS3 have only 6 SPU's available cripples any advantage the Cell could have had....
To put it rather simply, the Cell is built to do synchronized computing. The more SPU's, the more efficient and fast the chip is. And not just in the same manner that more traditional chips would be.
A single PS3 = a single 360. 3 PS3's > 3 360's.
But, that has no use in the realm of real-time games.

Then I assume the 3840x2160 demonstration was seperate? Since, for what you're saying to be true, each system would have to be rendering the *entire* image for each frame, and not just a quarter of it.
Good to know they are busy making their game.dotWithShoes
It's good to know they are passionate about it any way.
... This is amazing. Can't see a large number of people ever playing it like that though. But then GT4 was capable of HD resolutions if I remember rightly.Â

Yes, that was a separate thing. All joking aside, its a helluva tech demo, albeit with limited real world use.
well you know what this calls for......I just found out that the projector used there cost over $100,000.

I do not know what you are referring to and I think I'd like to keep it that way.Â

that must mean four cows together farting causes four times the methane. which is great for the environment
flawed logic FTW!!!
You fight like a dairy farmer.

right now, Forza > GT5 because one game doesnt exist yet, guess which one.

Ok. Good enough for me.
this is nonsense.Â
you could do the same with Forza 2 iirc - it's a moot point when it takes 4 consoles to pull it off though. silly imo. not sure if Forza 2 was only 2 screens, but i know they demo'd the multi-panel possibilities.Â
either way, nobody will use it buy the uber rich, so it dont matter :).Â
[QUOTE="SpruceCaboose"]You couldn't do that with 360s. That many units together would burn the meeting room down if they didn't all RRoD first! :DSSCyborg
PS3's output more heat tbh.
I was teh joking to have teh funnies.

Projectors generally are expensive technology, but damn.Â
Yeah. My 720p Optoma Projector only cost $899.
This is the Sony SRX-110.

Not quite the same in the Forza thing. That was synched systems, but not sharing an output synch like this is.

How many R2 D2's could they make with that lol.imagine getting that power into one box. this may be the future of videogaming as we know itAndrovinusI'm afraid to wonder the pricing for one such BOX.

definitely still falls in to the category of 'neat, but useless'.
i know plenty of people with tons of money and all consoles, some with 2 360s, and none of them ever even used the Forza dual-screen setup. Â

I'm not much for the dual screen set up for console game i wouldn't mind it if i had a built pc though.i have dual 1680 x 1050 for PC, mainly for productivity (work from home) - it's awesome. it's a shame very few devs support dual screen though - i think Supreme Commander is the only game that has really openly supported dual setups.
you can get a triplehead or dualhead splitter box that will treat all monitors as a single desktop which allows you to use those resolutions in most games - but that's about it unless you want to go messing with your registry and monitor inf files, which i highly discourage even if you know what you're doing :PÂ
sony have increasingly lost touch with the real world. How pathetic. I mean who the hell cares? Bloody damn hell...give us the bloody game at bloody f in stable frame rate with bloody decent gameplay. How hard is that? r_gam3
diddy cares, will likely be at his next party :PÂ

Oh please. The 360 is 2x as powerful as the PS3. And RROD is not as big as before. My PS3 broke on me 4 time and my 360 once. Plus 360 is cooler than the PS3.Â
