I would like to play Crysis on that projector screamingdoomwith over 1,000 of barrels of blowing up? :D
[QUOTE="legol1"]i dont want 4x 1080p or 240 fps i want car damage and 3d tree.SpruceCaboose
Well....no. Good day.
 Yeah, Sony and Polyphony don't really have their priorities right...
wow
The power of the cell is unleashed:o I knew they could do it.
the wait is over. Next up: Liar2 in 4D
What a load of crap, while they are wasting their time on this sort of rubbish you PS3 owners are stuck playing a demo you have to pay for, if I was waiting on GT5 I would be pissed. This is irrelevant because none of you own a 2160P tv and it would be 60fps because the display wouldn't be updating 4 times faster, it would be the same as picture in picture. This sort of thing is what has stopped me from buying a third PS, they waste too much time hyping when they should just get the games to the customers.
Seriously though this is hilarious, 4 PS3's can display at a resolution 4 times higher than one PS3 :o amazing. Countdown until MS release something with 5 xbox 360's being 5 times higher resolution then one?
[QUOTE="SpruceCaboose"]You couldn't do that with 360s. That many units together would burn the meeting room down if they didn't all RRoD first! :DOmni-Wrath
Oh please. The 360 is 2x as powerful as the PS3. And RROD is not as big as before. My PS3 broke on me 4 time and my 360 once. Plus 360 is cooler than the PS3.Â
First, we were all just having fun with the thread, not being serious.
Second, the 360 is no where near twice as powerful as the PS3.
Third, The RRoD is not as bad, but it is still a significant issue for many people. And the 360 is cooler because it keeps more heat inside the unit, which is bad, and part of the issue with the RRoD and the design.
ROFL thats some of the silliest BS I've ever heard
4 consoles each running at 60fps magically means 240fps? :roll:Â
audioaxes
If you understood what they did, they did indeed have the game running at 240 FPS on a 19" display. And yes, it was really 240 FPS.
Like I said, kinda a neat tech demo but not terribly useful, but it could one day happen in gaming, which would be neat.

It all happened.
Now they just need to make sure the ps4 can do all that on its own :P
Wheres the sticky tape? :)
I've not going to lie, I didn't read all the topic becuase I am a little drunk and it looked like I probably wouldn't understand it anyway.
My question is who is actually carrying out these ultimately pointless little experiments and is it stuff like this thats is making the game soo delayed?
Surely they need to consider something more important for the GT series. Like, I dunno, GAMEPLAY?
[QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"][QUOTE="SpruceCaboose"]
If they could, they would have.MyopicCanadian
*read the edit of my reply to you and atleast come up with something better then they would if they could have* Cause surfice to say just because a person can doesn't mean they should or would do it.

Not as big a screen, but it is technically feasible for anyone who wants to play Forza 2 in this manner, rather than a programmed demo.
Yeppers. If I'm not mistaken, Forza 2 can support up to 6 screens in this manner (all requiring their own 360 and copy of the game), creating a full 360 degree panoramic image for seeing all angles of the race. I'd love to try that out some day.
No ordinary gamer is going to do this.
This is for the professionals and rich people.

I don't think even they will bother
at least if GT5 is delayed again we know the reason... come on Polyphony dont waiste precious time on this marketing bs and focus on finishing the game with car damage.... as much as i like GT5P i really want the full game and enjoy some new tracks/cars and maybe better online.Malta_1980
I hope it doesn't have damage.Â

Yeah, I'm actually hoping that this game never gets cosmetic damage.Â
I love it the way it is.Â

Gran Turismo bills itself as "the real driving simulator", and there's no damage... :|

I was joking....Yes, you do indeed need 4, but its still pretty dang cool.Um did nobody notice that this required 4 ps3's synched together to do a demo? In other words, no.

This is great news!!! I'm so getting 4 PS3s and a TV like that... in 2030:roll:teufelherzParty at your place in 22 years.

Damage hasn't been done right in any "driving simulator" I have ever played. Maybe in the next GT but they shouldn't jump the gun. GT is already looking superb and contains the race simulation aspects we all know and love.
People act like Forza has it locked down, but that's just wrong. The game limits what cars you can buy, what career paths you can choose and you can't even get decent value from reward cars you don't want unless you auction them.Â

I know what Forza 2 did. Its not the same thing though. Not the same.We may disagree from time to time, but congrats on 10,000 posts.

EDIT: I am not sure what happened with GlitchSpot, but I hope this one works better.
Agreed, it wasn't the same, it was 10 times better and it's in an actual game (not a demo) and can be done by anyone for under a grand.Stoner-PimpThis isn't a measuring contest. This is a very cool tech demo, and it should be appreciated. I have never played Gran Turismo Prologue, I have never played Forza 2, and I don't care to. I can't stand racing games, but the tech on display is amazingly interesting to tech dorks like myself, and shows where the electronics industry could be heading in the future.

Synchronizing consoles together to produce one image = same thingIlikemyname420No, its not. At all.
Forza: Aligning up different displays and synching consoles, each display takes one image from one box and displays it. (Which is cool, but not the same)
This: Taking 4 units, rendering 4 separate quadrants of an image, and feeding them all into one display unit for output. Also, using the 4 consoles to render a real 240 FPS image on a 240 FPS display unit.
If you had 4 consoles, 4 games, one amazing projector, and one really neat little screen, yes.Sweet, now you could play bumping cars that runs 4 times 1080p, 240FPS?

Its not even for home users at all. Its a tech demo. And the thread title was probably for fun and attention, something that SW thrives on. ;) Its all for fun, as there is nothing serious about SW.Um did nobody notice that this required 4 ps3's synched together to do a demo?
