Gran Turismo Sport is the best looking racing game. Period.

You're comparing a Gran Turismo from last gen to a Forza from this gen so of course Forza will have better graphics. Now if you compare GT6 and a Forza from last gen many give GT the edge. Also, as this thread has clearly shown GT Sport looks better than Forza on xbone by far. So yes, you were also lying and making things up. With regards to realistic gameplay GT has always impressed people more

GT beat Forza in Driving variety and driving feel, has more tracks and cars. So those are 4 aspects you mentioned where GT is better than at least one Forza game. For all we know this will continue with GT Sports.

Well first of all of course I look at the latest installment. Why would I compare FM5 with GT6, when there's a FM6...

And lol this topic has only shown that GT sports looks better in REPLAY. Purely in gameplay I actually think they look the same, but GT is a beta version while we haven't seen anything from FM7 yet. Everyone knows it will look better because Turn 10 was super close in the development of Scorpio and is able to get everything out of the machine. That's just because Scorpio is much more powerful than the PS Pro, can't really do anything about it.

Because GT6 and Forza 5 released at similar moments so its only fair to compare them. There was no release of GT after GT6 until now. But GT6 was a good challenge to Forza 5, in fact it has a higher metacritic score, so there's nothing fixed here. GT Sport could very well beat the next Forza in many areas.

Yes, that is all true, but there are other things going on in the gif that you'd see in the source video as well. This gif demonstrates an improved physics model over previous games as well as an impressive lighting system.

This gif below shows not only the physics in action on the car, but how it transfers to the driver (note the head bump). Note how the car realistically regains traction as an AWD car would. There are so many things going on in this 2 second gif.

Just judging from these two short gifs, you can tell which car is RWD and which one is AWD. This level of detail was missing in previous GT games.

I thought GT games always had RWD and AWD before? I guess I haven't played in a long time.

Also those graphics are super impressive. It's all about the lighting. Even Project CARs doesn't have that good of lighting. The animations of the cars and the driver are also fantastic. Really sells the shot.

Except of course that currently FM6 is king in every aspect according to the content of reviews.

Facts: GT Sport has fewer tracks, 100s of fewer cars, less customization, no dynamic weather, inferior AI, no career mode, still has inferior sound.

The game has 2D background images on the edges of the tracks, it was so bad it was distracting when I played it.

With 4K Forza 7 coming and other games like Assetto Corsa and Project Cars out, GT Sport will just be an also ran.

@FastRobby: Not to mention the fact that FM5 was a launch title which had to deal with all the limitations and constraints associated as such.. Given the proper development time, FM6 has resulted in arguably the most content packed and complete track racing game of this generation.. And one can only assume that FM7 will trump that effort in every way..

As a former hardcore fan of the franchise, I'm sure GT will turn in a decent effort but FM has continued to raise the bar.. Anyone who blindly believes that GT Sport is just going to walk over a 4K offering on PC and Scorpio from FM7 in any area, including visuals, is just being a troll..

Not necessarily. There's no direct comparison between FM6 and GT6 that I know but yeah it's very possible that FM6 is the best for now (console-wise). But GT Sport is releasing similar to when FM7 is releasing I guess so that would be a better comparison and I can bet GT Sport will have the edge on some areas.

@dakur: indeed that's going to be a great comparison, but I honestly think Forza will still have the edge overall. We'll see eventually, next face-off is at E3

I think GT Sport will lose points because it doesn't have a career. It's an online focused game. I think GT7 will be the one we want to compare it to. I am going to go with GT Sport really being Gran Turismo 7 Prologue.

Oh yeah. That's some good animation detail. Polyphony are perfectionists when it comes to their cars.

It's probably not even animations, it's probably all physics driven. The PS4 has a more powerful CPU than the PS3 so it should be able to handle those physics calculations better. Project CARS does the same thing and it's nice. I want to say Forza 6 does too.

So what we established in this thread is that cows will enjoy looking at GT sports due to its pretty graphics and lems/herms can enjoy playing the vastly superior forza games

the game looks jaw-dropping in replays (just like nearly any current gen racer) but in-game it looks, well, just like any current-gen racer.. gameplay and content is going to tell this tale and objectively looking at the numbers, GT Sport seems more like a "prologue" rather than a full game.. which is sad if the price comes in a $60.. we'll see I guess.. this holiday will be the first head-to-head for Forza Motorsports and Gran Turismo in a long time

Its simple the actual find, set up your car and attack the track driving has always been superior on Gran Turismo. This has always been a check mark on GT corner when it comes to simcades. It has always been the focus and keeps improving many reviews or racing fans will mention that. Plus great wheel set up support part of the appeal for many and boring to others. The problem is the rest of presentation is dated. They seem to have improved sound in terms of ambient. The turbo fire and the road sounds f***in great but still missing that pure screaming engine sound. The collisions detection for that stick your elbows out fun racing has been a joke. Well honestly its been a joke in racing games but a bigger joke in Gran Turismo.

If the environments that you're implying is considered to look muddy and low resolution, then you're basically saying GTS does look bad (other than the car models).

Judging by the youtube gameplay videos I see here on GT Sport, the Willow Springs and the Nurburgring looks pretty good and I don't see anything wrong with those tracks.

Driveclub looks and sounds better

@darktower: Driveclub is laughable though. Maybe GT Sport can at least bring a modicum of racing pedigree to the PS4. Still, with MS releasing the Scorpio...FM7 will more than likely be the console king of racing game graphics.

The game still sounds like complete ass, and this was one of our biggest complaints. WTF Polyphony?? They have gone down hill with every release. No longer the team they once were.

@shurns: Its the lighting that makes it look real sometimes. Maybe its just because its in beta but it really doesn't blow me away in gameplay outside some off the replays gif. Do you think it looks better than Driveclub, FH3 and F6?

@cimbom1993: very true the lighting on the nurburgring aswell as the HDR is very beilevable in gameplay aswell. Especially in cockpit mode.

This game looks like an average racer. This is what it really looks like when not in replay mode.

Despite GT having a really good lighting system, even then I highly doubt that would even be able to compensate if the game is considered to have muddy and low res quality. The tracks looks perfectly fine for me and I see anything wrong with them.

As for Driveclub, the game runs at 30fps, so it's expected to look better.

GT seems to have better car models and their color system seems to be less vibrant than Forza. Forza may have slightly better looking tracks than GTS it seems.

@shurns: Im not saying that GTS looks bad, but its not the best looking racing game IMO. There are better looking games, thats all im saying. I hope they will amaze me when they introduce weather.

Agreed... as a massive racing game fan, GTS does nothing for me.

That is because Forza looks and plays better than any racer out there. Microsoft really hit gold with that racing franchise.

Take it as you will, these are two undoctored, no-filter, in-action FH3 screenshots from my playtime today. 1080p PC "High" settings with the post-processing motion blur toggle turned off.

The first image the photo-mode shutter speed was at max, the second it was at min (doesn't seem to work the way I thought it should). Overall I think FH3 looks good - not great. At times its gorgeous, and at other times it shows cut corners. Wicked fun though

Never ever get taken in by the pre release screenshots of racing games. I speak from experience. GT 5 looked gorgeous until I played it.

@cimbom1993: Fair enough. When GTS was first shown earlier of last year I wasn't that impressed by the graphical fidelity, but recently, their graphical showcase really impressed me thus far.

GTS looks pretty good. But i'd have to do more research before id be willing to buy it. Havent even bought FH3 yet, though i likely have time since this wont be out for another 10 years.

The worst part about the Ps4 exclusives is that the fanboys tend to not even support them. Thats an important part of gaming, actually buying the games, and exclusives are generally fucked because people prefer to talk trash about the opposing console rather than actually purchasing the game.

Lol Gran Turismo usually sells more than Halo.
