Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is dying on the shelves.

Now we have data, and the number is far worse than the most conservative estimates 88,704.

it's kinda sad to see this happen as the man said in this report this games salez might scare publishers from making adult oriented games for the ds it's a shame for such a great game to be recieving such lousy salez.

Well let's think for a second.

There's a stigma against handheld installations of console games are bad. When GTA was announced, this entire board automatically wrote it off.
The game is top-down, something nobody has seen in GTA for a long time.
There was literally no publicity on the news. Every other GTA has been assaulted by the media, boosting sales. Any publicity is good publicity.
The game was advertised less than The Lost and Damned DLC.

It's pretty understandable that it didn't sell well.

I don't think this will be such a problem for Rockstar. How much did they invest on marketing? Nowhere close to previous games, I'm sure. Still, it's sad such a game is selling that poorly.IronBass

It's GTA. This won't die off in a month like most other games. So yeah, it may not be a top 10 seller, but I'm fairly sure that it'll keep selling at a steady pace for a long time.

face the facts good hardcore games dont sell on wii or ds the new fanbase that nintendo aquired only likes kiddy games.

That's disappointing, it's such a great game too.

If Chinatown Wars is dying, what the hell is Retribution doing? Is it already dead?

But as Divnich pointed out, the game's profits will be long-term, not short term.

Just like the initial skepticism of the game's quality, there is little hope here, but I'm confident the same thing will happen; haters will be owned.

Chinatown wars will sell alot overall imo. Its a fantastic game adn deserves alot of sales! I say just give it some time!
