I am glad you agree. Nintendo does have the best exclusive content money can buy, and as we both know, having the best exclusive content makes it the most worthwhile purchase.
It does, farrell2k, it certainly does.

Nintendo have the most exclusives.
but the least games, if you only have 1 system is a terrible choice, thats why it is a good secondary system
Only if you like Nintendo published content. Other platforms have a mountain of content exclusively not for Wii U.
Nah it ain't worth owning, for me at least..not yet and sure as shit not at the current price. I won't pass judgement on your gaming taste for those of you who think it is. All I see is mainly a bunch of cartoony looking kids games that I have 0 interest in and Bayonetta 2. A bunch of cartoon graphic games to mask how underpowered the console really is compared to the competition. Even the new Zelda game looks like a cartoon, but it looks damn good though.
Everyone knows that the WiiU has the best exclusive content money can buy. The problem is that most people are happy with mediocrity, so they end up with a ps4 of an xb1.
The problem is buffoons pretending that a handful of good exclusives will ever beat the endless array of good multiplats. Hint: they don't, never have, and never will. WiiU is an excellent secondary system, a piece of junk as a primary.
I disagree wholeheartedly. The WiiU is my only console, and it's served me very well :P
I have 0 interest in buying any of the other consoles, and i don't even game on PC!

He's right though. By only owning a Wii U, you've pretty much cut yourself off from the rest of the industry, and Nintendo rehashes just ain't enough to solely satisfy most people. You are a rare case. I would say fringe even.

Sounds like you have 0 interest in gaming...
Well, yeah, the WiiU has been out a year longer.
i doubt either the ps4 or the x1 will amass a high quality library like the wii u by holiday 2015
i doubt either the ps4 or the x1 will amass a high quality library like the wii u by holiday 2015
Who knows.
There are those out there that argue it has already. Let alone, with the crazy year both these consoles have going for themselves. Only a WiiU just won't do. It' something that has been established every since the bugger came out.
@aroxx_ab: @Rock-City:
While i agree i am a rare case, it's not because i am not interested in gaming. It is true only owning a WiiU is a small percentage of the content available on the market, i honestly have no interest in the other consoles and what they have to offer. This is because as i have grown older, my tastes in gaming have become more refined and focused, and Nintendo content just happens to be what i enjoy the most.
@smashed_pinata: I'm no spring chicken either. We seem to be almost exact opposites perhaps. My interest in Nintendo content wained as I got older, and I was a pro Nintendo kid and even teenager. They no longer meet my needs in gaming, and those rehashed 20 + year old franchises are more exhausted than Melissa McCarthy after a minute on the treadmill.
@freedomfreak: One year after console first released (exclusives, since PC is superior for multiplats)
PS4
- MLB the Show 14
- LBP3
- Velocity 2X
- TLOU Director's Cut
- Infamous Second Son
Xbox One
- Forza 5
- Sunset Overdrive
Wii U
- Nintendoland
- NSLU
- Wind Waker HD
- NSMBU
- Super Mario 3D World
- Monster Hunters 3U
- Lego City Undercover
Can we stop with that argument, when Time Magazine already pointed out at this time last year that the Wii U was the only next gen console worth owning?
@lamprey263:
And ignore the fact that it takes money to acquire the infrastructure necessary to do online account transfer, never mind the fact that this is a field that Nintendo has to also compete with Google, Amazon, Apple and bigger companies outside of Sony and Microsoft to buy upstarts to build the online infrastructure.

You forgot the MCC.
And I'm not saying the WiiU has ****-all the offer. I'm talking about the overall package. I'm arguing that it's easy for people to say "****, WiiU isn't doing anything for me."
A handful of exclusives, being spanned across one year, isn't gonna change that. That's what the WiiU is. A Nintendo machine, while the twins are capable of delivering on both first party and third party offerings.

TIME MAGAZINE?!?!? well ****, that obviously destroys all chance of argument!
lol
@lazerface216: I'll take a magazine with an excellent reputation for doing their research over Kotaku.
When you are talking sheer game content and gaming innovation, the WiiU is by far the best console to own. SSB, Mario Kart 8, Hyrule Warriors, SM 3D Land, NSMB, Bayonetta 2, Zombie U and all of the Nintendo E shop titles from years past easily eclipse what the competition is offering.
Oh I know all of you graphics whores are going to scoff at my post and that is fine, but whether you want to admit it or not, you know I am right!
The bottom line is that as a whole, the X1 and PS4 have a long way to go when it comes to matching the WiiU's library in both quantity and quality!
If you don't like multiplatform....

And Nintendo doesn't have money? Can't hire people to build their own digital infrastructure?
Anyhow, still think a Wii U is worth owning, it's just limited in many respects. And it's something I don't think they can continue to get away with in years to come.

Nintendo rehashes
This is the part that confuses me the most. There's never been more than one Mario Kart, Smash, Zelda (sans Twilight Princess) Main Mario, New Mario series on any given Nintedo console, and the Prime series has released 3 times since the GC and Nintendo is the one that creates rehashes?
Call of Duty - 10 games on 360 and PS3
Assasin's Creed - 7 games on 360 and PS3
Gears of War - 4 games on the 360
Uncharted - 3 games on the PS3
God of War - 4 games since the PS2
Halo - 4 games on 360
GTA - (a series that is known to take it's time between releases) 5 games since the PS2
Dead Space - 3 games on the 360 and PS3
Killzone - 4 games since the PS3 era
Farcry - 4 games since the PS3 era
Infamous - 3 games since the PS3 era
Mass Effect - 3 games in 360/PS3 generation
Arkham series - 3 games on 360 and PS3
MGS - 3 games in the 360/PS3 generation
Now, the majority of the games that list I greatly enjoy. They are amazing video games. But how are Nintendo games rehashes by comparison?

The wii u is indeed the best console... if you're a nintendo fan
I'm not really a nintendo fan, i was in the past though when I was little, or for certain (timed) exlusives, like resident evil 4 on the gamecube
I really hope nintendo set the record straight and make a real good console right now, I mean microsoft and sony are basically sitting ducks. If nintendo would release a console that's only 1.5 the power of the ps4 and x1 people would buy it en masse.
I disagree wholeheartedly. The WiiU is my only console, and it's served me very well :P

Wait, what about Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask (N64)? Super Mario Galaxy 1 and Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii)? Heck even the NES had four main Mario games, one created just for the West.

QFT
I'm amazed how people act like Sony and Microsoft consoles are somehow innovative. Big budget means little creative risk.

True. But let's look at those games. Majora's Mask was probably the most innovate Zelda game to date. Mario 2 played nothing like the other two and three introduced the concept of suits in Mario games. I think those should get a pass. Lol
I disagree with the OP. I simply don't like nintendo's games anymore. I am sick of Mario Kart, Smash Bros and Mario. I don't like them. I don't like Pikmin, I don't like Donkey Kong. Zombie U LMAO. I have grown up. I don't like those kiddy games anymore. I prefer everything else. Give me Deus Ex, MGS, Mass effect, Fallout, Skyrim etc. No more cartoon games.
Nintendo Wii U is the worst console in my opinion and no matter what game reviewers say can change that. I hate game reviewers. They constantly overrate nintendo's games based on nostalgia. I never need to read ANY nintendo games reviews because I already know it will be an automatic 9.5+/10. I have to minus 2 points to every nintendo game to get the true score because every 30-40 year old game reviewer is obsessed with nintendo.

You seem upset.
I think the best console to buy is no console at all. However, coming from the perspective of a PC gamer, the Wii U would be the one I chose if I were offered one of the three for free. It offers a more unique and diverse library that is a better compliment to the PC than either the PS4 or Xbox One do.
Although, if I didn't own any gaming platforms at all (no PC or anything) and I had to choose a console to go with, it would be the PS4. Way more games, it's more powerful, and PSN+ is a good subscription service for the money.
The Xbox One is just...no.

You lost all credibility when you started yapping about rehashes.
Truth hurts, this I know.
All the time I keep seeing threads like this. Insecure much? The system has no third party support and the only interesting title you listed was Bayonetta 2. And on top of that it has last gen power.
Who is insecure? I made this thread stating the FACT that right now at this very moment the WiiU is the best console to own based on its exclusive library. That is 100% true. There is nothing insecure about it nor is there even a hint of me trying to justify my purchase. Just because you and 90% of everyone else on here is too wrapped up in being a CoD dude bro or more worried about pixels than good gameplay and story, that is no reason to just dismiss the WiiU!
Really the best (non-handheld) combo you can have is PC with WiiU. The WiiU lacks when it comes to multiplats

As for the thread title....graphical prowess? What graphical prowess lol?

Reading comprehension is fundamental. It clearly states graphical prowess aside. Unless you are incapable of understanding English, you should recognize that he means the Wii U is probably the least powerful and therefore has the smallest amount of graphical prowess.
Can we please stop this myth that "Nintendo has the best games". I am sick of hearing it. Sony has had the best first party games for the last 20 years and you are blind if you can't see that. I am sick of hearing "Nintendo games are more fun and have charm". Like LMAO. Just stop. If I wanted charm, I would buy some Lucky Charms cereal.
Sony creates NEW franchises EVERY gen in a variety of genres. Nintendo remakes the same old stuff. I can buy the exact same games on the N64 like I can on Wii U because they are the same thing. At least with Sony, I can experience new games.
