Well, yeah, the WiiU has been out a year longer.
And it had **** all it's first year.
ZombiU, Pikmin 3 and NSMBU/NSLU. Super Mario 3D World came out in the 1st anniversary month.

Bullshit. Even if you were right, that's a dumb ass excuse.
Add Wonderful 101, Nintendoland, and Lego City: Undercover to that list. Not to mention it actually got third party support.

Forgot W101. Know little to nothing about NL and LCU.
And compared to it's 2014, it did get **** all.

So,
Wonderful 101
Nintendoland
Lego City
ZombiU
Pikmin 3
NSMBU
NSLU
Super Mario 3D World
+multiplats.
And 2014:
Captain Toad
Smash Bros
Bayonetta 2
Hyrule Warriors
Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze
Mario Kart 8
Pushmo World
Unless I missed some stuff, how much different is this year compared to its first? Hell, how is that "**** all" compared to what came out this year?
So you don't think the Wii U is worth the price of admission? Fair enough.
As for the thread title....graphical prowess? What graphical prowess lol?
Reading comprehension is fundamental. It clearly states graphical prowess aside. Unless you are incapable of understanding English, you should recognize that he means the Wii U is probably the least powerful and therefore has the smallest amount of graphical prowess.
Funny, for someone who talks about reading comprehension, you can't seem to recognize sarcasm even if it were to fall on your head, because that's exactly what I'm implying genius.
*we are laughing* [at the idea of good multiplats]
Why? This is the shittiest year for gaming in ages (awkward transition to next gen) there's STILL more good multiplats on PC/Xbone/PS4 than there are exclusives on WiiU. And that's not even including all the last gen ports and remakes, just good new games. I mean, it's not a surprise or anything. There's simply, obviously, no way Nintendo can outproduce the entire rest of the gaming industry combined in quality games. They don't claim to either, they aren't dumb. Only idiots on forums claim they do, exhibit A here:
You have it backwards. The WiiU should be your primary for the best exclusive content money can buy, with either a pc or one of the pc clone consoles for the multiplats, if you really care about playing the same zombie survival clone or generic shooter over and over again.
Nah, something like Bayo 2 is awesome but I actually play more than 5 games a year and value new experiences over the exact same rehashed gameplay for the nth time, so having my "primary gaming experience" consist of making each 2D Mario and hour long minigame collection last months sounds a bit too much like torture, I'll leave that "pleasure" to you ;)
Everyone knows that the WiiU has the best exclusive content money can buy. The problem is that most people are happy with mediocrity, so they end up with a ps4 of an xb1.
The problem is buffoons pretending that a handful of good exclusives will ever beat the endless array of good multiplats. Hint: they don't, never have, and never will. WiiU is an excellent secondary system, a piece of junk as a primary.
I disagree wholeheartedly. The WiiU is my only console, and it's served me very well :P
I have 0 interest in buying any of the other consoles, and i don't even game on PC!
I'm glad it suits you. But the idea of cutting yourself off from the vast, vast majority of good developers, good games, new IPs, and the strongest hardware is nonsensical to me. Why would any gamer do that to themselves?
Nope. After so much consideration, I'm primarily a 3rd party games gamer. PS3 has served me very well last gen and into this current gen, and I can easily see it happening again with PS4. Which will offer more than enough 3rd party games support.
Gamers don't cut themselves off from good developers, good games, new IP, or the strongest hardware. We also have gaming PCs. We don't toy around with weak PC clone consoles. We have too much self respect for that. We enjoy the best exclusive content money can buy on Nintendo platforms, then everything else on our gaming PCs.
Yeah, except the person I was talking to specifically said they don't game on PC. Maybe learn to read, in between all your smug lies and bullshit? ;)
Btw, good to see you agree with me, that WiiU is a laughable waste without another stronger system to hide behind. The healing has begun :D
I've said this before somewhere and I'm gonna say it again: You're missing out on something if you only own one gaming platform, regardless which one it is.
I'll say this about the Wii U though, what it lacks in 3rd party games it more than makes up for in great exclusives and a very large list of Unity games. The PS4 and Xbox One are on the opposite end of things with lots of 3rd party games but few exclusives. HOWEVER, if you're gaming on a monster PC, then there's really no reason to splurge for a PS4 or Xbox One yet (since most of their library exists on PC as well but with better performance).
Seeing that most of SW's posters like to shun both PC and the Wii U, I'm willing to bet that most of you are missing out on quite a bit of good stuff.

See that's the thing, I'm not cutting myself off from anything because i am not interested in what they have to offer. So I'm not missing out of anything
@lamprey263:
And ignore the fact that it takes money to acquire the infrastructure necessary to do online account transfer, never mind the fact that this is a field that Nintendo has to also compete with Google, Amazon, Apple and bigger companies outside of Sony and Microsoft to buy upstarts to build the online infrastructure.
And Nintendo doesn't have money? Can't hire people to build their own digital infrastructure?
Anyhow, still think a Wii U is worth owning, it's just limited in many respects. And it's something I don't think they can continue to get away with in years to come.
You can't just throw money and expect a problem to be fixed (ask Microsoft). There's also patents to navigate around as well. I'm just saying fixing an online infrastructure isn't as simple as throwing money and hiring people, which a lot of people tend to overlook.
I do agree that Nintendo's strategy of supporting the Wii U isn't sustainable in the long run, for many reasons. That said, the fact that the verdict is still the samenow as it is one year ago (see Time Magazine and Forbes, two sources I would trust over lol Kotaku and Polygon).
The only people that refuse to acknowledge that the WiiU is a legit console are lame graphics whores or moronic fanboys!! To be honest, if the WiiU had Madden 15, CoD AW and NBA 2K15 in its library, the other two consoles would be in serious trouble!!

That's a good one
I agree. If you're between the ages of 5-14 the Wii U is the system to own.
Maybe if you aren't insecure too!
I'm proud to say I just bought a Wii U, and have next to no interest in either of the other 2.
Nintendo has remained the most consistent game developer on the market since forever. I've been playing their games most of my life, and have rarely been dissappointed. I can't go an entire console cycle without the Mario, Link, Samus, DK, etc. It's a must for myself.
I've also been a long time Playstation gamer. Nearly 20 years on Sony consoles. And I have no issue with Xbox gaming, I've just never been able to bring myself to pay for their over-priced, technologically inferior consoles (last 2 gens anyway).
The reason I'm not as interested in ps4 or Xbox One is mainly because they can't guarantee a quality gaming experience on their own. They're completely at the mercy of 3rd party developers. And in my opinion, most 3rd party devs capable of producing AAA gaming experiences lost their way many years ago. I know I'm preaching to a bunch of people who probably don't see it that way, but I truly do see it that way.
Wii U and PC for me. Pure fun with the Wii U, and some thinkin mans games on the PC. The perfect combo for my tastes.

PC and WiiU here as well. Pure fun and thinker's games on the PC, and Zelda on the WiiU. Sad as it is to say, the PS4 is now just collecting dust under the LCD, as I only really picked one up for Infamous:SS. It might get some use once Uncharted 4 is released, but everything multiplat-wise is purchased for the PC. The WiiU is somewhat in the same situation, though, as its current lineup is kind of 'meh', but it will see definite use once Zelda is released.

I've been saying that since the Gamecube era, but Sheep don't and will never buy 3rd party games on Nintendo consoles, it's been that way since that era!
And the problem/stigma persists today because it recycles over and over and over. Giving other non-Nintendo fans the idea of not taking any Nintendo consoles seriously.
The morons to blame are really Nintendo (who are oblivious & complacent), and Sheep.
A great console for Nintendo fans that are content playing iterative sequels on 30 year old IPs with a few more on the way after years....finally. Unfortunately, many who predominantly love Ninty's exclusives more than all the breadth of games that are/will exist on the competing machines in the years to come may see this as the winning formula, but to those whose diversity of software tastes extend past solely NCL's studios and flavor, that's a very limiting criteria to the majority of people, and is the reason the other systems are performing better (and will continue to do so in the long run). But I've no trouble seeing Nintendo and its fans bask in glory while they can as it's been deserved, and hopefully they'll continue to do well for the future.....for only their niche appeal.
But please guys, let's not attempt to postulate that ONLY Nintendo games (no matter how great) are able to take on both SONY and MS's efforts combined plus the many third party complimentary efforts we'll be seeing in the years when it comes to taste, diversity, and variety.
It's admirable to see that they can manage to put up a good fight against that type of competition considering they're doing all the work themselves (even though most of their games are predictable), that's quite a feat that can't be denied. But that they are doing all the work themselves is a large part of the problem as is the three decade old legacy they can't seem to move past from to any significant extent.
As someone who owns all the platforms, I have never played a console less in my entire life than the Wii U. I guess I just don't care for their style of games, and their weak hardware has prevented me from ever considering them for 3rd party titles. When I was a kid, I loved my NES and SNES, but around the Gamecube era I started to lose interest to the point that I no longer play anything 1st party of theirs with one exception: Zelda. I didn't care for Skyward Sword, though.
So I totally disagree with the premise of the thread, though I don't fault anyone with different tastes who might disagree with me.
True but a year ago it was dismal and at launch it was even worse. These things take time. Nice to see Wii U took advantage of its head start. My Wii U adventure began with mario 3d world and I've been very happy with it ever since.

Honestly with most new gen games appearing on ps3 and 360 what is the excuse not to put it on wii u? Where is evil within wii u? Alien isolation? South park stick of truth? Porting them over can't be that hard. Third parties have to stop ignoring the wii u i feel this is somehow their revenge against nintendo for the Wii's success which basically didn't need them at all to achieve it's massive sales.
