None of the above, for me at least.

Now that I think about it, I dunno. Metroid, Mario, Zelda and Phoinex Wright are in my favorites though.

I find the lack of Metroid disturbing. Barely any franchises in the history of gaming have been consistent in quality for over two decades. Even Hunters despite being a really crappy Metroid, was still a very well-made game.

Out of that list, Pokemon. But honestly, none of those games in your poll come close to the best franchise imo.

Well, it is obviously Mario.

In my opinion though, it is Zelda, followed very closely by Metroid.

Shocker, but I am not a big fan of 2D mario games, and I didn't care for SM 64 and SM S. I love SMG 1&2 though.

Has to be Zelda, followed by Virtua Fighter for me. But placing Sonic and Mario together on the poll is a but unfair. How could anyone possibly vote against Sonic CD, Super Mario World, Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario Galaxy, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic Adventure, Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Sonic Advance, Super Mario Sunshine, New Super Mario Bros Wii, and the countless sports/racing/minigame/spin offs the two franchises have had (Plus all the other games in their respective series not covered)?

That's an arbitrary rule to add after the fact. Even if you call the entire Prime series a "spin-off", which would be ludicrous considering the fact that all of the games are confirmed to be part of the series canon, you still have five games. Metroid (plus its remake: Zero Mission), Return of Samus, Super Metroid, Fusion, and Other M. Plus the CDs, comics, and manga.

That list sucks. It's tough to choose from, but IMO my top ten are...

1. Diablo

2. Half Life

3. God of War

4. GTA

5. Super Mario

6. Zelda

7. Metriod

8. Jak and Daxter

9. Legacy of Kain

10. Mega Man

Mario, Metroid, and Pikmin would be my top choices.

P.S. I cannot believe what TC is saying about Metroid. He is completely unaware of that series. There are 7 games that fit into the main series timeline, and two spinoffs that I am aware of. Two games in this franchise are considered masterpieces by a very large amount of people for good reason: Super Metroid (SNES) and Metroid Prime(GCN).
