Who is your favorite non-boss, computer controlled enemy?

I'm a huge sucker when it comes to Zelda, so I would have to say the Stalfos from Ocarina of Time. It was awesome fighting them in the Shadow Temple on the sinking ship and when you duel them during the collapse of Ganon's Tower. I know they were in many other LoZ games, but they weren't as cool or memorable as the ones from OoT

Regenerators or the easiest human enemiest in most FPS, just because they usually come in large numbers and are easy/satisfying to slaughter.

actually, I think TC may have nailed it. I loved fighting Stalfo's in OoT because those seemed to be the only enemies in the game you could get a good sword fight out of. other ones of the top of my head Grinders/Boomers in Gears 1+2 Regenerator in Dead Space, that first one sucked balls that's all I can remember off the top of my head.

i know he might not count because technically, its a mini-boss but

DARK ******* LINK!!

Forget that, its the best battle in a game. period. The setting. Oh my... What appears to be an endless white room with deep water (later find out to only be ankle high) and one lonely tree on a small island in the middle. What i also love about it is how when you walk past it, theres nobody there, you have to go to the door, turn around and hes just waiting for you under the tree.

Then commences the epic battle which is probably the most difficult battle in Zelda history (if you dont play cheap, Dins fire etc). Seriously, beating dark link then going to the water temple boss is one of the most depressing things ever because its the worst boss in the last 20 years.

Dark link for water temple boss. Heres a little hint at the epicness.

Hmm right of the top of my head are the Hunters from Resident Evil Remake, the first encounter was a mismatch since I didn't have a clue on what this thing can do to you once you get relatively close to it. Another one that I can recalled having a great encounter with is those regenerators from Resident Evil 4; the way it crawls on the floor while moaning is pretty creepy and not to mention they way it finished you off is pretty crueling to say the least.

I guess you could count Dark Link from OoT since he's not a boss boss like Volvagia or something..

He was really fun to fight. I still don't know how to beat him..I'd end up landing a few lucky hits and somehow win lol.

I've decided that one of these should be it in my book:

Zombies from REmake. Not only are they dangerous as Zombies, but the Crimson head aspect of them makes them especially deadly.

Shibito from SIREN. Even in single numbers they are extremely deadly. One false move could cost you your life when facing up against a single shibito. And they don't die!

These too. I kind of wish they hadn't toned them down so much in Siren 2 and Blood Curse (though Siren 2 uses the Yamibito as a replacement late game). They're probably the creepiest, more dangerous common enemies in just about any game. It didn't help they didn't exactly stay human either.

Yeah. Siren was too hard, but somehow making Siren 2 easier made it much less scary.

SHibito's transformations were pretty scary. Yamibito's transformations were ... just weird. Although whats her face who turns into a dog like yamibito is pretty scary.

That Yamibito transformation was downright disturbing 0_o. Siren 2 wasn't anywhere near as scary as the first game, but it sure was a lot of fun (I prefer it to the first one, in fact). I sure appreciated the fact that I didn't have to keep looking at a walkthrough every 2 minutes anyway >_>.

Recently playing the Japanese ver of Siren, It seems to me they cut out a lot of the instruction in the original Siren. I don't remember the English ver. telling me what to do nearly as often.

I prefer Siren 2 to the original as well. Siren 2 is one of the best games last gen.

Siren was one of those games that got easier to handle the more you played it. Getting by / taking care of the Shibito was never as much of a problem as actually figuring out what you were supposed to be doing. The game could really have benefitted from the kind of hint system Siren 2 had. Some of the puzzles in that game were way too obscure for their own good. I heard they were planning to release a special edition of the game with that kind of system implemented, but unfortunately it never sold enough to justify it.

They were, but that became Siren 2, which they shifted their focus to instead.
