Greatest "OMG!" moment in a game?

Half-Life 2, Ravenholm level: when the quick head crab zombie is introduced. Just see them jump the roofs and come towords you, I was thinking, Oh crap, I'm screwed. Then Father Gregory tosses you a shotgun. Then it was a battle! :DSubmit

Also, in CoD4 online, when your teammate runs across a road and his head gets blown off by a sniper. Then you know you're toast.

Bad OMG moment: In Medal of Honor: Airborne, when you are first introduced to the ubernazis, weilding mg42s and a frustrating immunity to bullets.

Good OMG moment: In Serious Sam, the last boss.

Like Shadow of the Collossus, only with missles and lazers. Also, the trampoline room.

In Prince of Persia: The Warrior Within, where The Prince let the other him get killed by the Dahaka so to save himself.

MGS series and when you meet the first time with all of the Colossi in Shadow of the Colossus :)

There are only three that i can think of...

The first was when i played Metroid Prime for the GC back in the day, almost all the major boss fights made me go "wow!" and so did the levels. For its time, ive never played a game like that graphicaly for a console. Also the depth in detail was just amazing, the boss fights were so amazing for its time as well, there was no game like it.

*Spoiler alert*

The second moment was on the Most underrated RPG of all time. Baiten Kiatos (sp) for the GC was an amazing fun fast passed game that had some of the hardiest boss fights EVER!! The OMG moment was when you fight the final boss (who is really hard) and then a 45 minute cut-scene occurs and you think you finished the game but you have to fight another boss with only two characters and its also one you thought died mid through the game. Also, when you find out the main character was a spy!! That was such a huge OMG moment. What a great game.

And my third is recently. In MGS4, all i gotta say is...Ray vs Rex....talk about epic:D

End of Half-Life 2 Episode 2. What a gut punch.

Hell yeah, one of the most emotional events in any game for me. Makes me REALLY want Episode 3.

Also most of any Team Ico game.

GTA III. Picked up an "escort" and was driving around Diablo territory and spotted a Diablo Stallion for the first time. I jumped out and tried to nick it but the two Diablos attacked me and were owning me and I hadn't saved in a while so I was fighting for all I was worth and managed to kill one, but I was close to death and the other one was owning me when suddenly, the "escort" I had picked up, ran in and delivered the most savage flying kick I had ever seen and killed him!

Needless to say, her and I drove off into the sunset with our new Diablo Stallion :D

i got it for christmas the year it came out, (along with the sega cd, and night trap) i plopped down in my room on the 26th at 5 am and began playing secret of mana. my room was blacked out with black curtains so i couldnt see daylight. i played what felt like an hour (my alarm clock said 6)and started getting hungry and needed a personal break, so i did what i had to do and got a bite to eat, but when i went downstairs and noticed it was still dark, and finally realized it was 6pm....13 hours straight of gaming and didnt even realize it. and the omg moment came when i thought heck i been playing for 13 hours im about to beat this game, and come to find out, i finally reached the northernlands and got a since of how big the game really was.

god i wish they would bring out secret of mana 3 or release 1 and 2 on the virtual console (or any systems arcade type thing)

Left an epic feeling in my heart.

Most OMG action sequence has to go to Paradise Lost in Crysis. The chaos, the screams, the gunfire and blowing aliens from the sky on the back of a jeep racing down the mountain in glorious OMG'o'Vision takes the cake for me.

In an RPG it has to be the ending for Fallout 2 because I realised there were multiple ways to complete it and my heart soared.

So many moments but those two do stand out for me.

Fighting the Colossus in GoW2.

GoW2 wasn't that great of a game, but this part made me go "O M F G" in non acronym form.

in halo1 at the very end where you have to drive out of the downed spaceship and you only have like 5 mins on legendary. so much more epic in co-op. im not sure any game will ever be able to recreate the epicness of that level. im_different

The game was like that for me in more places than just the infamous Aeris death, When Septhiroth had killed President Shinra and you see the aftermath with the blood everywhere, when you find out Red XIII's old man wasnt a traitor to Cosmo Canyon, When Barret met Dyne in prison and you realized why his daughter was white but barret was black was because it was dynes daughter.

The Weapon attack on Junon, The bit when Septhiroth/Jenova made cloud beat the living crap out of Areis after the temple of the ancients bit and your running around as clouds innerchild trying to stop him, The bit before you met Dyne and loads of people have been shot in gold saucer by a man with a gun arm, and you think 'wait what? barret killed everybody?'

Every single encounter with the Turks.

• Most of Metal Gear Solid, Especially Pyscho Mantis
• Resident Evil, The Tyrant.
• Most of the COD games.
• Most of Mass Effect
• All of Half Life 2
• The Last couple of Portal Levels.
• Most of Gears of War.
• The First few hours of The Darkness, Especially the death of you know who.
• Most of Halo CE
• God of War 1 and 2, Kratos is just the most Epic antihero ever, definition of a total badass.

1. Seeing the first/2nd collosus in Shadow of the Collosus

2. MGS4 - Shadow Moses w/ flashback audios, the microwave part leading up to the GI room.

3. The first time I played Socom, and being able to use your mic to direct your teamates (was !!! at the time)

4. Playing GTA3 for the first time.

I know there's more too lazy to think of them though.

Recently: ***SPOILER*** Almost every transition from cutscene to gameplay in MGS4, especially the Crying Wolf fight. The bike escape in Act 3. And the split screen moments: one side gameplay the other side a cutscene.

Past:
- Metroid Prime 1, the entire game
- FFX when Auron and Tidus were really dead/dreams of the fayth
- RE4 QTE events.
- Too many to name. There is no single greatest OMG moment for me.

KOTOR.... those who've played it know what I"m talking about.

the legend of zelda twilight princess when you think Zant is the man behind it all suddenly Ganondorf appears out of nowhere. And Zant was just one of Ganondorfs puppies.

Oh and the end of ff x and ff crisis core sooo sad..

The Ending of Golden Sun. Man, that game was stupidly and irrevocably awesome, and i almost cried at the end.

Also, wallking for the first vtime in the good egg galaxy in Smg, hearing that music. It made you fell... good, to say the least

One of the voice actors in MGS4 gave me a similar feeling, those who have finished the game know what I'm talking about .

Oh man so true. My cousin and i were playing the game for about 12 hours straight and we always saw maintenance tunnel doors and stuff and had no idea what they did or how to get in. We thought they would instantly transport you to anu other part of the mall, like that passage from wonderland to paradise plaza. We figured the maintenance tunnel would be the perfect way to escort survivors. We finally realised that you got into the tunnel in the park, and we went in with about 5 people following us. We were dead wrong about escorting survivors lol.

That's so strange, was just wondering why nobody had put that yet as I changed pages and wham, there it is.

It's definitely up there, such a sad moment! :(

Others for me include:

* The big character twist in the final mission of Phoenix Wright: Justice for All (the second instalment) - won't spoil it too much but to do with the character you are defending. Big 'omg wtf' moment about 2/3 of the way through that case.

* Pretty much all of Shadow of the Colossus

* That 'press square' moment at the end of MGS3, then made ten times more gut-wrenching not long after when you found out the truth about the boss during the ending.

* LOTS of moments in the half life series (inc. episodes 1 and 2)

* The aforementioned Revan revelation in KOTOR

* Big Mama jumping into the fire in MGS4, ok not really 'OMG' but pretty moving and shocking for me personally.

* The first time I went crazy and realised the freedom I had back in 2001 when I first played GTA3

* Entering Neptune's lair in the Resi remake on Gamecube... pretty much that whole section.

* FF7 Aeris scene... you know the one I mean, wasn't expecting it at all, severe OMG moment

* Big twist surrounding Tidus in FFX, and the ending as well.

There's loads more I know I'm forgetting, those are just a few for now.
