Microsoft has pretty high hopes for Natal, that much is certain. In fact, Aaron Greenberg claims it's not just going to sell millions, but "millions and millions".

"Our focus for launch [for Natal] is on original experiences, built from the ground up," the Microsoft product director said in an interview for Edge's April issue."We believe that's important because the first impression has to be a magical one.

"But because we expect millions and millions of these things to be sold this Christmas, over time developers will know millions of customers have these sensors so they can add functionality to theirgames."

"So you may see hybrid approaches, but our initial focus is on those unique experiences."

Natal is slated for launch towards the end of the year.

Maybe Sony should be scared...perhaps Natal is the "final nail in the coffin", eh? :3

Its aimed at non-gamers not us, so our definition of a quality game will mean nothing. Look at the Wii.

as long as they appeal to casuals it will succeed. what we think of it is irrelevant.

1-So what is "our" definition of a quality game? 2-Can you show a list of all the Natal games being made?

Its common knowledge they are going after the casual market. The casual market buys games like Cooking Mama and Just Dance, instead of Zelda or Mass Effect. I've yet to meet anyone in real life thats actually heard of Mass Effect (except my brother)

If it is such common knowledge then can you show links were they are only going after the casual market for example a statement from MS saying this?

Here is some links I have found

Microsoft-"Take your hardcore gamer, they're going to love Natal,"Bach explained. "Now, they'll play a different ****of game on that when they're doing it. When they play Halo: Reach, they might be back with their controller doing some very, you know, targeted things. But the ****of game they will play will be different."

"But they will absolutely love Natal," he added.

and

"I'm not interested in making Natal games for casual users, but I'm interested in making games that hardcore users always wanted to play," he said. "I want to make to a core game experience on Natal — something that , like a Halo or Gears of War or, of course, like Metal Gear Solid, is a core experience. It's not like I just want to make an FPS. And I don't want to make something that's very simple. I want to make something that is deep for players. I want to give them something that is a deeper experience with Natal."

and

Microsoft-"Project Natal is meant to complement, not replace, the experiences on Xbox 360. We've reached new heights in creating a more natural and responsive gaming and entertainment experience for people of all interests and skill levels, whilst maintaining our commitment to deliver quality core games that consistently exceed expectations."

I have no idea either way but would like your links showing it is common knowledge.

a quality game is a quality game theres no standard to a game that has said quality. you dont have to like it but if the quality is there their is no if and butts about it.

probably because MS's track record consists of like 1 person being arrogant: Greenberg.

E3 2003, 2005 and 2006 are great examples of Sony's constant arrogance + Jack Tretton.

Microsoft: 70 To 80 Percent Of Publishers Doing Natal Games

"We wanted third-party publishers to know that it was real and we wanted them to have developer kits and to get them working on it," Bach tells Canada's CBC news. The result? "We have something like 70 percent or 80 percent of the publishers in the world already doing Natal-based games," he asserts.

"Our first party studios are [also] very focused on this," he adds. "We want to have a few titles from Microsoft that show the way and then we want the breadth and power of the ecosystem from our partners to bring lots of new ideas, new innovations, new concepts to the marketplace."

and

Here's the current list of developers and publishers that are "actively working" on games that will utilize the motion camera:

Activision Blizzard
Bethesda Softworks
CAPCOM
Disney Interactive
Electronic Arts
Konami
MTV Games
Namco Bandai
Sega
Square Enix
THQ Inc.
Ubisoft

I love how the bashers act like they know what the games will be like already as if it was fact. I have no idea myself it could be great or bad but it seems there is a lot of interest from the devs at least.

People aren't thinking, OF COURSE natal will sell like crazy, its not just a gaming peripheral its a camera, and a video recorder. You can scan all this stuff in apparently, it can see you in the dark, it will probably have a "Wii Fit" type game but will be much more engaging. Theres a LOT of stuff they can do. And like with peter molynooooo, hes not just focusing on natal with Fable 3. The whole touch bit is gonna be something you CAN do with natal. It will probably be sweet. Games like Tony hawk ride will probably not suck. lol idk. THE POSSIBILITIES. Oh, and itll be cool moving around the dashboard with my hands

The only way it sales millions and millions is by forcing people to buy it. Specically make the Natal X360 bundle the only way to puchase an X360 and bam, there you go. Millions of Natal's will sale but let's stop pretending million's of people will pay for it intentionally. Name an accessory that expensive that has sold millions. Historically speaking if you don't include the accessory with the launch of the console it won't be successful......which is why Nintendo has been so successful and why Move and Natal will more than likely fail.

I'll buy it if it is really $80 like they said it would be. I mean I don't have a camera now but I want one, and even if the games suck for it I'll have one for party reasons and the gimmick and to browse my menus in a super cool way.

Whether I love Natal or just like it, it will still warrant my "under $100" (probably $99...). If Microsoft wants something to sell millions and millions, it will.

Here is some links I have found

I have no idea either way but would like your links showing it is common knowledge.

Actions speak louder than words, and so far the only thing we've seen of natal of casual mini-games that appeal to the masses. It's doesn't take rocket science to see that Natal is clearly aimed towards the casual market.

Meh, I'm waiting for the games and seeing how normal games implement it.
