[QUOTE="SNIPER4321"] Nothing come close. it sum up how to make FPS and how all FPS should be like.SNIPER4321

What so every game should have poor and janky gunplay, and focus on atmosphere, aswell as being bugladen at launch (i remember it well when i was running a Nvidia 6600 back in the day hahaha i was poor and couldnt be assed upgrading but it as above min spec) aswell as basically needing an overhaul by modders.

Nah thats not my ideal groundbreaking game.

Im gonna go with nothing really, theeres no games i can think of that stand out a lot this gen innovation wise apart from mayble assasins creed and its movement or fifa and its player impact engine.

U havenot played it. it maybe buggy at launch but now its perfectly playable. I rather prefer Flawed but unique gameplay than generic mainstream crap. and also COD and Halo have far more flawed than STALKER.

eh i have played it, or do you fail to have any form of reading ability, i remember it well back in the day when i had a rig with a 6600 which was above minimum.I played it and honestly i dont think it was all that amazing purely cause the pissspoor gameplay brought the game down, dont get me wrong its a fantastic concept but much like metro its shooting mechanic really brings it down.

STALKER has like best gunplay Ever....SNIPER4321

Sure if you enjoy really janky gunplay then yes..which seems to be a recurring trend with your favourite games is pisspoor gunplay. It doesnt feel natural compared to say Battlefield it just feels janky and terrible its not smooth sure theres nice bullet physics but its really offset by the pisspoor design.

I felt it was difficult to hit people in Stalker : Shadow of Chernobyl.

It's much easier in Arma :P

.....im not even going to bother arguing with you any more because your honestly that ignorant and dimwitted its unbelievable.

I make a good point of Stalkers gunplay being pathetic and you slide round it and rip on halo and CoD because be truthul its the only arguement you actually have..just wait what next the medias corrupt because they dont share your opinion on gaming.

Battlefeild Bad Company 2, Crysis I, Half Life 2, Bioshock,Resistance 2, Killzone 2, COD Modern Warfare I,Halo Reach are far superior to Stalker. Check all these games are 9.0 or above in gamespot and highly popular amongst gamers.

Hell only decent Stalker games was Call of pripyat (unbroken) and was really best of the series. Stalker shadows of chernobyl, clear sky are all broken, glitched games.

What are you even comparing Stalker games with some of the best FPS games out there ? lol

EDIT: But i'll say Stalker got potential. It may improve to be super in future.

Score mean anything?? Metacrtic mean anything?? Its all money talks.SNIPER4321

nope.

I enjoy many poorly rated games as VTMB. Don't care what reviews says and i consider it awesome rpg. But its my own opinion man.

You can say Stalker is one of the best fps games, but its certainly not best FPS ever lol.

As i said Stalker got potential, can be really great and can even be better than many. But devs have to work hard really on it to make it best.

I think Stalker is best. some think its not.

Thats your personal opinion and i respect that since you enjoy Stalker series most.

But since its SW many like me will always argue with you if you say Stalker is best , as they don't find Stalker to be best or find some other fps games to be best heh.

off topic, any new stalker game in development?

Best games are low 8 to low 9 rated games. than after 95% on metacritic. they all paid reviews. and praise by corrupt mainstream media. best is subjective. I think Stalker is best. some think its not.

you say the media is corrupt because they dont agree with you.

Please could you provide proof that they are corrupt, and if you cant can you just bloody stop using it for a lame excuse to rip on games that scored higher and generally do so because they are a better quality product at launch?

[QUOTE="Zeviander"]Bioshock, groundbreaking? It was System Shock 2 with less RPG elements and a new coat of paint. I can give you Demon's Souls, as it actually did add something groundbreaking to gaming.indzman

But bioshock and system shock are so different in many respectives :|

Like what? The story and setting? The elements that make up the gameplay were pretty much exactly the same. System Shock had a better story, more RPG elements and a better, more creepy atmosphere.Nothing groundbreaking about Bioshock, that type of game was done better eight years before.

SS 2 was in sci fi setting whereas Bioshock is in different setting ( underwater city). I felt Bioshock is more polished, better combat, eye candy graphics and a cool story.

[QUOTE="Jebus213"]The only groundbreaking game was Crysis.GreenGoblin2099

Crysis didn't win sh!t. MGS4, on the other hand, practically won everything... PC also lose!!

MGS4 is the most least deserving 10 score Gamespot has ever given. I dont believe any of the games that scored that high deserve a 10/10 but MGS4 wasnt even a 7/10 in my book. The dissapointment I had after playing MGS4 is one of the reasons I finally gave up on the PS3 and gave it to my nephew.

The score MGS4 got actually makes me believe all the things people say about paid review scores. I imagine that if someone can think that highly of such a boring and clunky game that has more cut scenes than actual gameplay then you cant really have played many games.

I agree completely. I think 7 is a bit low , but the game in no way deserves more than an 8. It boggles my mind how it got a ten. A ten to me is SMG2 or Batman AC. I always tended to trust GS's reviews, now after their MGS4 one I don't nearly as much. It was very undeserving of its score.

Are we talking about games which won bunch of prizes, or are we talking about games that really moved gameplay boundaries?

If we talk about the latter, then:

Stalker - if we ignore fistfull of bugs it's a really groundbreaking FPS experience
COD 4 - first FPS to introduce real cinematic FPS gameplay
Metro 2033
Total War games
Crysis - for its incredible graphics and sanbox gameplay
GTA 4
Assassin's Creed series
FIFA 12 - the best footy experience to date
The Witcher - didn't really invent anything new, but still it's one of the best WRPGs to date.
Mass Effect - probably the first game to truly combine great RPG elements with TPS.
Diablo 3 - don't understand the bashing. I like this game so much. IMO, one of the best action RPGs this gen.

Games like modern warfare 2 wining awards. what could be better proof that this??

what a robust game, despite the hate it gets doesnt deserve awards?

MW2 was a robust package and undeniably one of the better games content wise at launch despite its short comings and flawed killstreak design its still an overall better feeling product than Stalker was at launch.

But it's not original nor is it innovative. Originality is incredibly hard to pull of in this day and age, every single foundation has ben explored, the only thing left is to build upon it.

But there are games that are groundbreaking in certain aspects, not as a whole. Like Crysis with its graphics.

Mine are the following...

Silent Hill Shattered Memories

Xenoblade Chronicles

Vanquish

And... that's about it. I fail to see how a game like bioshock can be called groundbreaking.

I can agree with that. The atmosphere, graphics and sound were good in Bioshock, but the story and gameplay left alot to be desired. Really not that great of a game.

Mostly ps3 exclusives like Little Big Planet, Journey, Sound Shapes, MGS4, Demon's Souls, Uncharted, Infamous series, etc. But some good mp's like Vanquish, the Batman games, some others.

Mass Effect

Uncharted 2

Left 4 Dead

BF Bad Company 2

Super Mario Galaxy 2

Red Dead Redemption

Gears of War 3

TES V: Skyrim

Trials Evolution

Skyrim is ny only 10/10 this gen.

I really have a difficult time trying to think of a game this gen that was groundbreaking. That would imply that something popular did something revolutionary. Pretty much all the big popular games this gen were incredibly derivative. As much as I dislike the series, I suppose the answer would have to be Gears of War sue to its popularization of the cover system. otherwise its the niche games that are innovating, but aren't being mimicked. The games that personally impacted me the most would be

-Super Mario Galaxy 2

-Batman Arkham Asylum and City

-Rayman Origins

-The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

-Darksiders II

-inFAMOUS

There are countless parallels, again, in terms of the schematic, or gameplay floorplan. I could list a thousand different things in terms of levels design solely; sentry turrets, cameras, vending machines, it's all there in one way or another, not to mention the presentation of environment over interaction, audio logs, etc. With that I agree. And the game is shallower, yes, no one would debate that, I don't think. I could also argue that BioShock's combat is significantly distinct in a way not derived from the scraps of its predecessor, focusing more on flexibility and experimentation, that is, as an action game, not a survival experience (light wine bottle with Incinerate, pick up with Telekinesis, throw, murder burning victim with tonic enhanced pipe wrench, etc.), but I don't feel the need to get into all that.

The point I'm making is that the story, in every way, outside maybe of basic structure (an arrival into a strange and f*cked up place, listen to this dude on the comms who later betrays) is wholly distinct and original. The parallel of Atlas' revealed as Fontaine and Polito as SHODAN is one minor note in the full orchestration and hardly the crux of the twist to begin with, which was more about commenting on the FPS genre and horrifying the player with knowledge of their chracter's sordid origin (Fort Frolic club sequence much?).

BioShock surpassed its relatively simple core plot with a plethora of interesting ideas and relations between them; all of those others elements, the commentary on Rand especially, was clearly groundbreaking in video games, in any medium really; there has never been a satire like BioShock, there's nothing else like it, in literature, film, whatever. That SS2 and BioShock share some devices of plot and structure means little beside the original vision that BioShock lays on the table.

Regarding BioShock, there has been a satire like it before, one that explored many of its plot elements and themes in much greater depth, and even with a very similar plot twist... The game I'm referring to is of course Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty... Now that was a truly ground-breaking game.
