GT5 Graphics Analysis

Again, NOT ZOOMED: You can watch the video yourself. It's not zoomed. It's obvious I didn't zoom since you can see a full resolution shot from a video player and the graphics are still horrible.

So now that it's proven not to be zoomed - now what? What excuse will there be now?

Ah Ive noticed some issues with the shading there :P Tbh though in motion its not too noticable. And considering the game still has a few months. And its already ahead of forza 3. I mean in some parts it almost looked completely real.

Im not going to worry though saince even with that it still looks better than forza 3. Especially in motion i full 1080p 60 fps.

I didn't want to bring the arguement there but....you dropped the bomb, you're right...at this point GT5's graphics are superior

the only thing i noticed is that it looks like there is no tire deformation. Which blows compared to Forza III, but i could be wrong.

Yes but direct feed or off screen, that won't change low poly models or textures. Ugly people are still ugly whether or not you have off screen footage or direct feed.

Exactly. A good looking game will look good from all angles, not just cherry picked ones.

GT5 fans are going to be disappointed when the GT5 real direct feed is released..the jump from GT5p to GT5 isn't that big..stop going by off screen videos and be happy that both games (GT5 and Forza 3) are on par with each other in graphics,there is no winners or losers...Tessellation

There's been articles confirming too much damage will cause your car to not go past 4th gear, so you're wrong on that subject.

There have been no such confirmations that I've seen. The only one I've seen says your wheel alignment will go off, causing the car to veer to the right or left during acceleration.

How is that acceptable? Forza 1 goes way beyond that.

In Forza 1 you can blow 2nd gear without even crashing. All you have to do is run on second gear with the gas down until it blows.

Then in order to drive you have to go from first to third because 2nd is blown. In GT5, the claim is that if your crash enough they'll take your top gear away. That's the stupidist excuse for damage simulation EVER. More like pre-determined FAKE.

So now tell me, where are these stupid articles? Don't bother because they obviously don't even know what real damage simulation is.

thats opion. what if he does like gran turismo, he wants PD to not release it and work on it even more because it has flaws that he has pointed out. he doesn't want to settle for anything low. but then again ur assuming so w.e

Actually you're pretty close. I haven't been a huge fan of GT since GT2. After that it sort of went down hill and didn't really keep up. I'm looking at GT5 and comparing it to games like Dirt 2 and wondering why the GT series has yet to catch up.

I saw them. I still think GT5 doesnt look better than Forza3. Forza3 has the environments and GT5 probably a better lightning and both have equally amazing cars so its a tie imo. Still gameplay wise i have to go with Forza :P

That's not the worst of it. No night drives, no weather. Both huge and both fail.

At least though I'll get nice telemetry, and a livery editor, plus tire deformation which is new. Also really big for me will be all the car customization, and then trading / selling / buying cars from other players. That's big for me.

So I think between GT5 and Forza 3 I really have to give it to Forza simply because, while it does have less cars on track, no night and no weather, it does offer a better simulation for damage and the car it's self. So it's more realistic. Compared to GT5, it appears we'll be able to say that about Forza 2 as well. Since it seems GT5 will not match Forza 2 in simulation.

I rather have the more realistic simulation than the prettier one, even if GT5 does end up looking nicer. Any fan of racing simulators is not going to car that much about graphics. It's the quality of the simulation that important.

That said, I haven't seen any outright horrendous graphical blights from Forza 3 yet. Forza 3 shots and footage look pretty clean. So at least there are no overly glaring, overly offensive flaws in the presentation.

Compared to real simulators, both fall short.

the damage demo was a demo to show a WIP PD says themselfes their still working on it.
