It's just hyperbole. After years of talk of how GT5 was going to blow the doors off of Forza (pun!) with features like truly realistic damage, 90+ unique tracks, a track editor, real-time weather patterns, etc., it's hard not to be underwhelmed by the new information.

March 2010 is when God of War 3 will come out and now Gran Turismo 5, March will be awesome

well, with this news it's time to see how to get my hands on an X360 and Forza. Polyphony is just so god-damn slow with the way they do things it's pissing me off. it's like they think they have no competition for the racing genre.

You still believe that all those features will make it into GT5? Obviously you haven't followed Polyphony's method of operation over the last ten years. Dynamic weather & day/night cycles will not be in GT5. Now I sincerely hope to be proved wrong, but I'd bet against it. Which leaves us with the inclusion of WRC and Nascar, both sweet additions, but they've confirmed that there will be 20 environments and 70 tracks. Pretty sure that limited environment list doesn't leave room for many if any actual Nascar and WRC tracks...so what does the inclusion of those really add?

It has nothing to do with SW and everything to do with the fact GT5 is shaping up to be nothing more than a prettier version of GT4. Sure there will be some tweaks and additions, but there is nothing to indicate any significant changes to the core gameplay.

Forza is going to have differing track variations as well. Gran Turismo has Daytona and Indy though sooooooo yeah who cares about what Forza has lol.Jrfanfreak88

Actually I started playing GT4 again after Gt5p came out and the cars don;t handle the same at all. GT5ps driving mechanics have changed drastically. It's only fanboys that say it hasn't been changed. Try driving 2 of the identical cars in both GT5p and GT4 and they handle nothing a like. For example the turning in GT5p has gotten a lot better.

My advice for those of you who are disapointed in GT5's delay is, get Dirt 2. It's a great racing game with great online.

As someone who's been a GT fanboy for 11 years, I'm gonna make a prediction: Forza 3 will score higher at GS than GT5, and GT5 won't reach AAA.

I haven't played GT4 in years so I'll take your word for it, but I still found GT5: P's driving model underwhelming in comparison to Forza 2 and Shift (and presumably Forza 3), so we're back where we started anyway.

If they are having a conference about something as important as a GT5 release date... wouldn't you think they would outline those worthy features (that haven't, for the most part, been in previous iterations) as a selling point? Why would they just go over the mundane stuff we've seen in past games?

I haven't played GT4 in years so I'll take your word for it, but I still found GT5: P's driving model underwhelming in comparison to Forza 2 and Shift (and presumably Forza 3), so we're back where we started anyway.

I actually thought GT5p's handling was very similar to shifts. I honestly don;t see that much of a difference between racing sims including games like GTR. I play with all the assist off etc. If you know how to drive a car in GT5p you can easily drive a car in Forza and vice versa. GTR is a bit more tricky, but it's not as different as pc fanboys would have you think.

I'm actually kinda glad they didn't release GT5 in Q4 09. There's too many games to get and beat in that time.aznfool07

Me too. Now I don't have to worry about which to get first (Forza or GT) and I'll have plenty of time to play through Forza 3, take a break, and then play through GT 5.

lol I'm not surprised at all. I really never understood why people thought it would come out this holiday to begin with.

Yes, I remember that interview. I applaud your glass half-full attitude, but I've been there too many times seeing KY breaking promises to the GT community from GT5P damage patches, GT4 online, track editor, missing car manufacturers, etc to believe him when it comes to feature lists and release dates. Sorry, for me the honeymoon is over.

So hopefully June release in NA, that would be the absolute perfect time for me, seeing as I would be done school for the summer, more devs need to take advantage of the summer gaming lull ...

and U2/Ratchet for NA Holiday 09 and FFXIII for JPN Holiday 09

and GoWIII for NA Spring 10 and GT5 for JPN Spring 10

I'd rather wait for PD to get it right before releasing it. After all we won't see GT6 for 5-8 years probably. GT5 has to last us that long. For me the online mode is the most important feature. If this feature is well polished it will provide nearly unlimited fun. It'll be worth the wait, hang in there folks. We GT fans have been through this many many times.
