I'd rather wait for PD to get it right before releasing it. After all we won't see GT6 for 5-8 years probably. GT5 has to last us that long. For me the online mode is the most important feature. If this feature is well polished it will provide nearly unlimited fun. It'll be worth the wait, hang in there folks. We GT fans have been through this many many times.

I admit being a huge GT fan since the PS1 days but the its getting frustrating all this long wait for GT5... Unless it completely revamps the physics engine and adds real damage (not just visual)to all models i'm afraid i'll end up highly disappointed..
Also considering GT series has always beenconsidered a racing sim, at least I expect GT5 to have upgrades / tuning features which one can buy that truly make difference in the handling/performance of the cars..
I thought PD said that GT5 will release much earlier than what we expected and/or soon after GT PSP... (didnt expect soon after meant 5+ months later) :(
Luckily i got a 360 and FORZA3 is out in just3 weeks time..

It doesn't matter to me if the game has 900 cars, I already played a game with almost that many cars called GT4. I might not even buy GT5 when it comes out, I was looking forward to it but I'm not anymore. Why would they release it the same month as God of war 3?? No game can compete with GOW3.

They're still cars though. Are you saying that all of the other GT games had no cars?
- It doesn't matter whether or not they talk about it during TGS, because in the end, all of those features have been confirmed to be in the game. They've already revelaed Nascar, Rally, online trading, day/night, and dynamic weather. They could elaborate more on it before the game releases.
- When you say "past games", do you mean *past racing sims*, or *past Gran Turismo games*?
- We've seen Youtube replay uploading before? New physics, Damage, Movable objects on track, hybrid and electric cars properly simulated? Open Lobby, Text/Voice Chat, Private Room, Online Photo Album, Online Replay Album? We've seen all of this stuff in a Gran Turismo game before? No. That's why they are unveiling it now.

Nothing is "confirmed" until it is shown in a real-time gameplay demo. And even then its still not truly "confirmed" until its in the final version on the retail shelves. Just because Polyphony says its "in" the game, or that they "want" it to be in the game, doesn't make is a sure thing to be in the game when you get to play it.
I referred to past iterations of Gran Turismo, and continued that connection onto "past games."
Forza Motorsport 2 has a feature that saves every single replay and uploads it to forzamotorsport.net for player download (AFAIK). Uploading to Youtube is as simple as downloading your replay, and uploading it to Youtube. I don't see how this effects the gameplay of the game. But I forgot, Gran Turismo isn't about the race, its about the replays and pictures.

I told everybody that over and over again but I find this good news, I was afraid of a rushed product, and I'm not even a Racing Sim Fan But are Racing Sims games hard to localize?
i've still gotta complete most of my ps3 games before this hits... so RE5, uncharted, cross edge, prototype, sacred 2, kz2 , fear 2 and a bunch of others, and thats on top of the games im getting between now and then too. so while i'm a little disappointed it's going to take this long, i've got plenty of games to keep me busy.

Theres lots of people who like both games. GOW games are amazing, I highly doubt GT5 would outsell GOW3, I mean they are releasing forza 3 first and with all the people mad about the release date it seems most people would rather just get forza 3. I'm not going to get forza 3 though cause NFS shift looks better then GT5 and forza 3.

I would say that, in the past, Polyphony did the best they could given the resources available. At this time, however, there are no excuses for a second tier that is not fully simulated. If it's not treated the same by the simulator w.r.t. damage, and it's not modeled to the same degree w.r.t. interiors, then why should it count as a car?
