Wow, that's the first gameplay i've looked at, and its not looking that great. The trees are sprites! Also, a thin grassy fence boarders the track and actually prevents a car from going outside of the assigned track area? Really? I thought it was supposed to have teh damagez systemz, but apparently scenery realism was an afterthought for them... dissappointed.
My post will go un-noticed and/or ignored by the GT5 haters of course. But would one of you explain to me why, you're complaining about one bush, compared to the hundreds of other beautiful things you could see in that video. Also that's an unfinished build, dur. Also Dirt2 will be left in the dust, when GT5 comes out. In just about every-way. Not that Dirt 2 (or 1) are bad games in any way. paradigm68Dirt 3(PC, XBox 360, PS3) says hi in 2011http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNoQ-N6Fhmk
Agreed. When you driving past them at speed trying to race you aren't looking at the trees other than to avoid them. Not a huge issue. I mean, its a racing sim, not a nature watch sim.

Dirt has less cars racing at the same time and runs at a lower resolution/framerate compared to GT5 (at least on the PS3).

Which is why it has much better looking environments.
except grid looks just about as good with just as much going on as gt5 except much better damage. My post will go un-noticed and/or ignored by the GT5 haters of course. Even GT5 cant top raw power of high end PCs, simply because consoles are using dated hardware. GT5 will be the best racing sim on consoles, thats for sure. The damage is real time, and while it may not be perfect it will definitely be the best on consoles.

Ive said it before and i will say it again. When it comes to the environments, GT5 isin't all that, Dirt 2 has it beat on that aspect hands down.
Hakkai007
Dirt 2 beat GT5 in all graphical aspect from what I have seen.
And this is just the Directx 9 version.
Dude, time to upgrade to Photobucket Pro!

Dirt 2 is so awsome it exceeds your bandwith!
Funny, because the one thing I take notice of more than anything in a racing game is the trees. Why just the other day when I was at a friends house playing Forza 3, I stopped my car mid race to admire this beautiful tree beside the course, I was simply stunned by its majesty.
Best in game tree EVER.
This one?[QUOTE="LegatoSkyheart"]
lol
"2D Trees = Fail Game" =/= Fact
This is a lame arguement. Where's that Comic?

I can't wait to go tree exploring while playing GT5...RoushrshJust do not do it when the sun is out since it will be hard to find them because of all the wax melting. It may not be a problem though if they are made from a different engine then the cars but better safe then sorry.
