****, old thread.

This is old thread, but they would be nuts to keep the "standard" cars.
Obviously they did it with the PS3 version because they felt they didn't have enough "premium" cars (even though there were well over 200 cars in GT5). How many "premium" cars were in GT6?
All I know is that I basically ignored the standard cars in GT5, and it was annoying as hell when you would win a series and your "prize" is some standard car you already had 3 copies of in your garage. They must have 500+ premium cars by the time GT7 releases, so there truly is no reason to include a car that is not 100% modeled both interior and exterior as a "premium" model. I'm sure they will re-use all or most of the PS3 models (since those have much more detail than the PS3 was able to utilize in real time), but if they use any PS2 models they are idiots.
lol, what you guys think about that? I thought they were finally gonna get rid of them, or at least not include the PS2 cars. PD are nuts, it's like they want to kill the Gran Turismo franchise. GT6 has been a flop, the lowest selling GT game to date and by a lot. Only 2 mere millions when this franchise tends to sell 10+ and even the demo sold 5+!

I don't have a problem with those as long as they have a good amount of new models,GT tend to do an incredible number of cars which i think will take to many years to make 1 by 1.
Didn't it sell 3 millions.?
I'm less interested in standard vs. premium cars, than standard vs. premium TRACKS. Are they coming back or is GT7 actually going to look AT least like a PS3 game?
They could deal with standard cars by simply having the option to disable them in races. Once they realize almost everyone is disabling them, they'll decide they don't actually have any reason to keep PS2 cars around. And they could always look at porting GT4 for those 4 people who want a huge list of crappy looking and insignificant cars.
@asylumni: turn 10 may sub out the Horizon series but as far as I know the in house studio can crank out a quality game every other year.
That is a lot more frequent that Polyphony.
I can't remember the rear views.
To this day I still don't get this complaint. You'd rather just less content? This is drag and drop kind of stuff, so you won't get any more content by sacrificing it. Okay, they don't look good, whatever, but it is either get it or nothing. I'd personally rather get it although I don't play racing games so either way don't really care that much. I mean, do you get annoyed when they include the previous games with a new version release as well?
@FoxbatAlpha: Actually, Turn 10 farms out work for the main Forza games as well. That's why it was so easy to get the Horizon studio running, they already had multiple studios creating a pool of assets that could be drawn on and tailored to each specific Forza.
Wow. I expected this series to revamp all the car models with proper damage this time around. If that's not going to be the case it's a game I'd never buy for the ps4 when ever I get down to buying one. Hell I've owned every one of their tittles up to prologue and after that I stopped buying them.

Here's the problem.
Forza games are to easy.
The rewind they took from Grid makes the game more on the arcade side.
If you like Forza more power to you , but GT is a racing sim.
Turn10 have to sit down and not just get the specs from the car company , but have to talk to mechanics and street racers that moch-up cars with home made parts.
The fact they can't top GT4 in size with the consoles they worked on , means they don't car about the hardcore car fanatics.
Sure i can drive the new 2018 Zonda , but you know whats more fun?
<Beating the Zonda with this.
@Ant_17: Rewind doesn't make it not a sim. The second you do it your track time is put in another bracket.
If you want to play with the leaders then you need to run clean laps.
You also need to go deep into the cars set up to compete with the top racers on the leaderboards.
Yes that Skyline is way better than any Zonda the game. (Forza) I build different classes of that car all the time.
real racing drivers give space for you when you want to overtake them, GT's AI does not do that. they stick rigidly to the driving line, they wont make a single mistake and they're not aware of your presence. why do you think online is more fun than offline? because each driver is different, unpredictable, makes mistakes and has a different driving style. and forza hits it spot on with it's drivatars.
the only reason why you are faster than other AI in GT is because they brake far too early. have you ever seen the AI go off-track or brake late?
So which is it? Do GT AI never make mistakes or do they make mistakes? In two replies, you've contradicted yourself. And, no, real race drivers don't always just give up their position when you attempt to pass. And yes, I have seen GT AI go off track and take turns too wide. I've also seen them take steps to avoid me, just not always enough. Neither game have perfected the AI yet, GT a bit too conservative and predictable, and Forza too wild and unpredictable. Just one of them gets unending criticism while the other seemingly gets a pass.
lol no, GT's AI brakes too early, it's not a mistake, it's called 'conservative driving'.
So let us assume the game launches with 300-350 Premium Cars & 800+ Standard..
What is the problem? If you're in just for the premium cars you still have a large selection to choose from...
Also PD might release regular updates which upgrades certain 'popular' car models to premium !
@Malta_1980: GT7 will launch with all of the 615 Premium cars from GT6, along with whatever amount of New cars they add into GT7, So i'm guessing GT7 will launch with around 800+ cars all together. (I'm going strictly on PD's history and how they always add inbetween 200-300 new cars to a new GT game) Minus the DLC's.
And as i stated before, series creator Kazuroi Yamauchi already debunked this "Rumor" almost 6 months ago, When he said "We will be keeping the Archives of standard cars to catalog models for premium conversion, but as for GT7 we are only focusing on having Premium model cars in the game. Thus GT7 will not have Standard model cars, but it will have popular standard cars converted to premium models.
What kaz is talking about, is what they did Converting Standard models to Premium such as below.
So with that in mind, GT7 could launch with 1000 premium cars, it does not take them long to convert a standard car into a premium car. Good jesus the PS2 textures hurt my eyes...
Also, this thread is seriously old...i'm actually amazed it was not locked, because i'm pretty sure GS locks threads over a year old.

cows can't handle it when T10 releases a brilliant game every year that's better than the recent GT's. typical cow comment "forza is a cash grab"
Dat necroposting.
also this ^
@aquaman1234: LOL, I had to scroll around for 10 minutes just to see what my original comment was. Anyway, I haven't bought a Forza Motorsport game since the 3rd one, so I don't really care and I'm not sure why you even mentioned Forza. I honestly hope GT7 is good, Polyphony made a good choice hiring a Forza audio guy seeing as how Forza's sound effects have always been light years ahead of GT's.
