Yes, PS3 fits less in its far less than 360 ram indeed, if the game was 360 only, textures would be 10x more crisp indeed, i agreesaolin323
No way, your not banned anymore? lol
or is this an old topic lol

ITS A HUGE FREE ROAMING WORLD.
The walls are not going to have quality textures in this huge world, it would take up so much time, and be needless

Crysis is also a huge free roaming world..
Yet fanboys only try too compare small claustrophbic games too it.
I say we should compare Crysis too GTA 4. Thats the most fair comparison too crysis there is.
No. Crysis loads up levels. GTA loads up the entier city for you so you don't have to load ingame... EVER.
I'd be willing to bet that one crysis level is at least half as big as the GTA world. I am proabably wrong though.
Anyways, look at Oblivion. That game had a humongous game world and for the time, the graphics were top notch. GTA, however big it is, has never had good graphics for their time.
The scale of number of characters/vehicales and such on screen is considerably smaller in both Crysis and Oblivion. Sure they look good and appear to be in large areas, but the scope of those areas allows a lot of cheating in that what is obscured doens't have to be drawn, whether it be too far away to see without the aid of a scope or simply not on camera.
[QUOTE="Spybot_9"]No DVD9 has nothing to do with that.
It's the GARBAGE 512MB RAM that is to blame.Your consoles are just too underpowered, get over it already console fanboys.

Grand Theft Auto has always had blurry graphics, but GTA4 has stylised graphics that look pretty good all round. These picture are not even a good indicator of texture quality, the wall could just be heavily filtered at the draw distance.
It not even close to the N64 blur, have you even played an N64...
Look at the walls on this latest pic. Blurred, obviously. Anyone remember the N64, where textures were blurred because everything had to be compressed to fit onto carts?
roadkill88
Wow, the game must suck then. Back to the drawing board Take Two.
Seriously, who cares if it had to be compressed and what difference will that make? So long as the games dont suffer, which they clearly arent.

What I dont understand is why anyone even gives a crap. So long as it doesnt burn your eyes like having acid sprayed in your face, and only early 3D games like the first MGS or Resident Evil (bar the CGI) or some 8 bit games do that
Why do people on this forum consistently act like one tiny fragment of blurred texture makes any difference? Or that by pointing out one little graphical difference, the console war or even system war has somehow been won? None of it realistically makes a shred of difference.

if a camera focuses on the near ground the far ground is out of focus, its called depth of field.

One bad screeshot from IGN. Doesn't prove anything. Metal Gear Solid 4 is a highly detailed game, and does not have blurred textures check the preview from gamespy.
"Visually, there's little doubt that MGS4 is one of the most handsome games yet for this generation of hardware. There's still a little aliasing on certain textures, but nothing that won't get a final clean-up before the game hits gold. The cut-scenes look marvelous. Character details such as eye movement (which many HD-era games get wrong) rival the likes of the Half-Life games for realism; Snake, Otacon, and Meryl all have the same sort of liveliness that Alyx and Eli Vance demonstrated. The attention to detail in the characters is so precise you can see the marks on Otacon's face where he shaves. "
And from Gamepro:
"The graphics: You thought Gears of War looked amazing? Think again. Metal Gear Solid 4 will blow you away with its ultra-detailed characters and intricate environments, painting some of the most gorgeous graphics seen this side of Crysis. In motion, the graphics look so realistic that your eyes begin to register the visuals as a movie rather than a game. From what we saw, MGS4 puts its 50GB Blu-ray disc to outstanding use."
OWnage Denied.
DAMN YOU BLURRY WALLS!! Because of you I won't be able to enjoy GTA IV.

ownage restamped and resubmited. pending further development. by the way, the game ended up looking fine. (gtaiv that is)
blurred textures or not, GTAIV is a blast.... i love the game and the city is so detailed and huge.... Unfortunately you cant have everything in life, and if the small price to pay for a game such as GTAIV is having blurred textures in certain areas, then its a price i and many others are willing to pay...
Also MGSIV can have all the blurred textures in the world am sure i'm gonna love that game...
