GTA 4 vs RDR

which do you like better i like GTA 4 alot more

difficult for me to say. i love both.

GTA IV for me. Both are good games though.

GTA4 had the greater impact, but RDR is the greater improvement.

RDR by a large margin. GTA4 was just boring to me.

RDR is much better IMO. John Marston is a compelling bad***, and whilst the story won't set the world on fire, it's still interesting.

Plus, hogtying people is just full of win!

RDR isn't the type of setting I like, so GTA4 for me.

gta, rdr is great but thee is really not much comparason between tearing around town in a car and riding the horse, the driving, biking and flying is way more fun

Thats a tuff choice. I like RDR's campaign and missions a lot more than GTA4's but i can have more fun playing GTA4. You know like running around killing everyone until you get 6 stars and flying Helicopters, and trying to make near impossible jumps on your Motorcycle. That is the reason i love GTA

At the moment, I like GTA4 because I haven't played RDR yet. Fortunately I'm going to playing it today, so I'll give a definite response next week after I've had a sufficient amount of time to play and compare.

To me GTA IV is not a grand theft auto game. It doesn't have the same feel as its predecessors.

I loved Red Dead Revolver and Redemption is a great sequel, but it does feel alot like GTA. No that it's a bad thing at all, but the similarities are there.

Im not sure. GTA 4 was in 2008, so my hype for it has disapated. Im loving Red Dead though.

Oh and the reason why I like GTA4 is because never before has a gaming world felt so alive, with so much going on, in a dense area like in GTA4. The characters, the dialog, the neighborhoods from neighborhoods that nailed NYC personality, were spot on. The story was deep and well written. I like how each connected and answered questions that were left unanswered in GTA4 (Lost and Damned/Gay Tony).

Also, many dont understand how detailed GTA4 is. Literally every time I play, I see and hear something new. I like how well the city also adapts to you in a way. Like for example. You complete a mission and after the mission, your listening to the radio and "WEAZEL NEWS" comes on talking about you and the people you may have been involved with. Same with the internet news sites. Outside of the story, I remember I planted a bomb on a car. I lost track of the car but decided to blow it up anyway. Minutes later in the area where I planted the bomb I hear something along these lines on "WEAZEL NEWS". "Car explodes near Purgatory" :shock: There is more details that I can mention but that would take a whole page.

The Multiplayer is also a blast. Freemode is cool when your bored and the races are fun. GTA4 will always be a Masterpiece in my book. 10 well deserved.

RDR is better then GTA 4 in every way possible.

RDR has better graphics, better gameplay, better voice acting, better online, bigger fun factor and better AI.

Single player: Red Dead, it took a little while for me to be entertained with GTA4

Multiplayer: GTA4, Red Dead has less modes, less features and more glitches too

I still like GTA4 more, but I hope Rockstar North takes some of the stuff the RDR guys did and implement it in the next GTA game ( more activity's, challenges, posse system, level up system).

RDR hands down.

RDR, the setting is a much better fit for the gameplay and mitigates most of GTA4's issues (the ****ty gunplay is less noticable in open areas, fewer cops to deal with, less traffic, no goddamn cell phone) and the mini-games are at least tolerable. That said, it very much is Grand Theft Horse 4, and still suffers from said ****ty gunplay, the go to character-go to mission area-shoot baddies-lather-rinse-repeat gameplay, a questionably written story with a bland, poorly concieved main character, and the annoying cops have been replaced by ****ing cougars.

I get a much better laugh with my mates out of shooting donkeys, than blowing up cars. And there's much more than just that! :P
