For anyone that believes that website I have a nice bridge for sale for you. Hurry and I will sell it cheap. I mean seriously though you think since GTA4 sold more on the 360 then on the PS3 that the next one they will choose to go where they made less money?Ya great idea make the next game exclusivly for the console that sold the less amount of software.
I can not believe some of the people on here act as if it is on some website then it must be true. Any random 13 year old fanboy can start a blog about games.
rybe1025
Would that be this bridge?
(go to #4)
and yeah I am calling obvious BS on this.
Uh oh, 4 disc game spectre is back.
Oblivion is gonna be on 4 discs. Nope.
Mass Effect on 4 discs. Nope.
GTA IV on 4 discs. Nope.
In fact the only multiple disc games have been old fashioned JRPG's with massive CG cut scenes, ak Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey.
Although it has yet to be confirmed, I have a very good feeling that Grand Theft Auto 5 will be exclusive to the PlayStation 3. The reason I think this will happen is because Rockstar stated awhile back that they did not like the storage limit for their game. They wanted to keep it on one disc, but to do this; they had to sacrifice much, according to Rockstar. They have also stated that they do not want to have such a small capacity with the next Grand Theft Auto. The second reason I feel Grand Theft Auto 5 will go exclusive is because Sony has stated that there is a Rockstar title coming exclusively to the PlayStation 3.snip
Ridicules statement FTL, this reminds me of those raving PS3 users who believed GTA4 would have been four times bigger if it was PS3 exclusive.
Simple logic people, more content = higher development costs. Just because you have the storage space doesn't mean the content will magically fade into existence, creating it takes time and money and the more content you have the more a game has to sell to break even.
Are we seriously being led to believe that the next GTA game will have significantly more content, hence being significantly more expensive to make, but will limit itself exclusively to the 3rd smallest console audience?
Ridicules.
After the success of GTA IV and L&D on Xbox 360, Rockstar would be losing out in a big, BIG, way.
I don't see this happening. Rockstar likes the moneyyy!
Indeed. If we were still in last gen with the Ps2 on top, it would've made sense. This gen with everything so close (except the Wii), not so much.Cows thought GTAIV was boring and hated the game,Why would they want a PS3 exclusive for a boring Game:roll:king_A-HoleCows didn't like it because it wasn't san andreas.
La Noire is multiplatform now. But it wouldn't help the PS3 sell faster than the 360 because the next game wouldn't come out until at least 2011. By that time the new Xbox consoles may be coming out, so 360 vs. PS3 would be irrelevant. That would really help the PS3 beat the xbox in salez faster than the price drop, it's possible because Rockstar also has another exclusive game for PS3 LA Noire so it mnay be possible it's starting to be PS3 exclusive again but I don't know.

http://www.thegameraccess.com/2009/02/should-360-go-blu/
Rockstar has stated that they will not be able to pull off the next Grand Theft Auto due to the struggles with Grand Theft Auto IV (source) on a disc that holds only 8.54 GB compared to a Blu-ray that is currently holding 50 GB. This may harm them in the long run because you see developers now a days wanting to expand their games while saving as much money as they can. Making a game on a Hi-Definition Blu- ray disc not only allows for more uncompressed raw data and more audio support, it also benefits the developer at cutting cost of production.
John Carmack, game programmer and co-founder of id Software, has brought this up many times relating to his upcoming title, Rage. He has stated thatin order to put the game onto the Xbox 360 and have it look identical to the PlayStation 3 version, they would need to put it on about four discs which would cost them a lot in production costs. He also stated thatif Microsoft does not allow for them to put this game on four discs without charging them extra, he will have to compress the game massively to have it fit on two discs degrading the visuals of the game.Developers will adopt Blu-ray because of advantages in **** as well as price. Who would not want to make a larger, cheaper game?lolfaqs
Great find!
[QUOTE="crazy-player"]It's not gonna happen.planbfreak4evasure it will, i see the next gta being only on ps3.. Really? Were's your crystal ball, I would like to borrow it.
I'm not sure if there's any truth to the story, so I'm not prepared to believe it. However, people in this thread are highly underestimating the power of the GTA franchise as a product unto itself rather than a game that's dependent upon one or more systems.
If GTA became PS3 exclusive, Rockstar wouldn't lose consumers. Those consumers would simply be compelled to convert to PS3--And that's exactly how it would play out. Or, just as good, people would wait for a PC version, which would definitely come out.
The only one who would be paying anything in this scenario is Microsoft; they'd be giving Rockstar truck-loads of money just to not make it exculsive to PS3. Only after that would they be paying money for the actual game--and that's not even mentioning the pay for the DLC.

What you just describe is an event, a highly unlikely one at that. There is no proof or precedent that support your theory that more people will go buy a PS3, and certainly no evidence that even if some people did it would offset the predicted loss of consumer. It makes absolutely no sense for Rockstar to exclusive to the PS3, especially when GTA4 sold more on the competing platform.
Rockstar would lose consumers, there is no doubt about that. Because they cut out an entire audience - Xbox 360 only owners. These gamers now have to shell out $400 for a new system plus an addition $60 for the game. You'd have to be insane to think that going exclusive wouldn't shrink their audience. And if they are going to go multiplatform and port it to the PC anyway, why not port it to the 360? The coding between the two are similar enough that it shouldn't take much more effort, and would only be a display of ignorance on Rockstar's part.
There is no way Rockstar is goinng exclusive with the GTA franchise.
[QUOTE="Adrian_Cloud"] Of all those reasons, this one made me laugh. That really helped the PS3 version of GTAIV sell more, didn't it?How so? The former PS2 users haven't converted yet.Seriously folks, it doesn't take an economical genius to figure out why this rumor is absolute bunk. Firstly, as mentioned, the PS3 version of GTAIV sold less than the 360 version. Two, we've all seen how Microsoft is willing to be alot more supportive towards third-party devs than Sony this generation. Thirdly, the considerable sales on both consoles of GTAIV means that unless they recieved a VERY sizable 'donation' from Sony/MS, GTAV is not going to be a system exclusive title.

MS doesn't want games to be discs on their console. Rockstar doesn't want to make games on two discs, and it also costs more. Exclusives games on PS3 like Killzone 2 prove that PS3 can deliver better graphics. PS2 users are still converting. The potential breakdown of 360s is to risky, 60% of them could be defective who knows :|:|:|:|:|[QUOTE="Adrian_Cloud"]Possible Reasons
1. More Space there is something called two disks
2. Better quality game graphically that must be why GTA IV looks the same on the 360 and the PS3:roll:
3.Internal Help from Sony I dint know R* needed help or microsoft is unable to give it
4. PS3 DLC could make up for losses yea because all PS3 owners have PSN, and all with PSN will buy it
5. Lower Costs explain
6. Fanbase on PS3 from previous PS2 owners, more potential buyers( previous games sold more on PS2, than on Xbox,PS3,360 combined) yea PS2 sold more than 140 million and the PS3 has sold a little over 20 million so unless 120 million people have stopped gaming they have bought Wiis, 360's or stayed with the PS2
7. There 360 dev model broke down, RROD. Im sure R* can afford $200

So there's no way GTA5 is going to look like Killzone 2. How is putting it on multiple discs going to cost more? Even if it does the way GTA4 and TLAD sold on 360, it easily makes up for any possible expenses. In this economy there is no way that 140 million PS2 users are going to buy a $400 machine when its competitors sell for $199 and $250. Do you and Tek get together to make up ridiculous statements like 60% of 360's fail? Making GTA5 exclusive doesn't make any business sense at all, and companies are trying to make money in this economy.[QUOTE="Adrian_Cloud"][QUOTE="Toriko42"]LoseEagles1245MS doesn't want games to be discs on their console. Exclusives have their pros and cons, just as multi-plats do. Yes they have, their sandbox games have always been ahead of the competition. GTA5 could look as good as Killzone 2. Killzone 2 is really just the tip of the ice berg for PS3 games, its only going to get better. more discs= more production costs.
I doubt that is true.. But seriously this gen has marked the lamest thing of all.. We not only have exclusives.. But exclusive dlc's now too? THat is just stupid as all hell.sSubZerOoThe whole DLC thing is stupid in general in my opinion. 90% of the stuff they offer should be free.
http://www.thegameraccess.com/2009/02/gta-5-to-be-ps3-bound/lolfaqs100% guaruntee that it will not happen like that. Rockstar has made more money on 360 this gen with GTA4 and DLC that there's no way they would risk sinking their company to go exclusive on the 3rd place console of this generation.
Sony did make a exclusive contract with Rockstar for 1 game back in 2005 or 2006 but i doubt it to be a GTA game.Nonstop-MadnessWasn't it LA Noire?
Why making it a exclusive for a console platform with the least sales of the last games from the series? How is that profitable?Salt_The_Fries

LoseEagles1245
As someone said earlier, R* would lose out on big sales and cony would ahve to make up that money. Lets see.... Hmmmmmmmm 3 million copies sold MINIMUM on the 360, $70 each. That works out at $210 million. Not even including DLC lost and fans who will turn their back on GTA. Aint gunna happenWario_KidWhat if Sony cut them a movie deal? That's something Microsoft can't top.
