Heres some information on the game

- True GTA game - sandbox gameplay, open-world environment, gritty crime narrative.
- M-rating
- Isometric camera angle
- Cel-shaded polygons w/ black borders
- good touch-screen implementation - 'tasteful' minigames, streamlining interface
- UI based on a PDA - hub for email, contacts, map, music player, GPS, stat-tracking
- stats uploaded to Rockstar Social Club website via Wi-Fi
- finger-sized icons
- missions designed for shorter periods of play, arcade quality
- aiming with control pad, auto targeting with R button
- subtle autosteer
- if you fail a mission, you can jump back to the action sequence
- chain gun, flamethrower
- good portion of Liberty City is modeled in the game (different routes than console games)
- no probems with load times, draw-in or frame rate
- lots of pedestrians, cars, etc on screen
- Wanted system - objective is to disable police cars any way possible
- real-time weather effects, 24-hour day/night cycle
- lots of radio stations to listen to (more instrumentals than vocals)
- 800,000 lines of hand-optimized source code (hey, the people like the info, right?)
- no details yet on multiplayer/Wi-Fi features

I was hoping somehow they would be able to do a 3rd Person Camera GTA style game (Like Killzone Liberation style camera) but now I know its top down I'm rather worried about the game

Agreed, I was really hoping that Rockstar may be able to do something amazing and make the graphics good enough on the DS but it seems like they haven't...

The graphics are pretty awful.... i mean i know it's only the DS but it can do a lot better than that.Ninja-Hippo

Exactly, Knowing Rockstar I was hoping for them to push a lot out of the ds and have graphics that could be as good as Phantom Hourglass but I guess not... :(

Ok, the second batch of shots made this game look a LOT better.

I still want to know how it controls though. If they're smart, they'll make it touch only.

Still I agree, I would wait till the final game to judge the graphics and the gameplay could be pretty good

My first impression is not good, but the more I look at it, the better it seems. It will all depend on the gameplay.

Those screens are aweful. The first few look like a GBA game.

Nonetheless, i'm still a bit interested in this game.

- aiming with control pad, auto targeting with R button What!?:evil:I'm imagining Grand Theft Auto controlled with the stylus only right now and it's totally working out!
- subtle autosteer Comment above.
- if you fail a mission, you can jump back to the action sequence No more having to drive for ten minutes or waiting for a cab to get to where you need to be.:D
- chain gun, flamethrower IV needed these. :D
- good portion of Liberty City is modeled in the game (different routes than console games) Wouldn't make sense any other way since we want games to feel new. :D

Hmm looks real interesting, kinda cel shaded cartoony look, going back to top down isn't what I had in mind though. I think I'll wait to see it demoed before I decide to hate it or not.lantus

I agree, I expected Cel-Shaded graphics considering its a ds game and I don't think they could of pulled off realistic graphics but top down view dissapointed me.
