i loved GTA II by the way (that was top down)

Here's a resized pic from Driver 2, the best (graphically) open world 3D GTA game on the Playstation, this is basically the absolute maximum of what the DS could handle in a GTA game.

To me that kind of game would just be horrible to play on the DS.

can anyone imagine an actual non-gang related story for GTA? i dunno, government conspiracy? i'm not saying go all metal gear on it but maybe a little Crackdown to spice it up

Libery City could be a huge open Racoon City. Rockstar could do it. if they wanted to do something unique

but money is money and if it ain't broke, make new IPs called manhunt and Bully as a spiritual spinoffs to Grand theft auto

Agreed, I was really hoping that Rockstar may be able to do something amazing and make the graphics good enough on the DS but it seems like they haven't...

Same I mean look at games like Metroid Prime Hunters and the Super Mario 64 port they were in full 3D each with big open worlds and yet Rockstar still goes with the top down thing. Was hyped for it, but not anymore sadily.

I know GTA would of had to be a lot bigger but then I wouldn't have minded if the graphics weren't as good as games like Metroid Prime Hunters, its the gameplay that counts but I think it could of been a lot better if it was full 3d

have I missed something they look quite good the quality of the scans/images are terrible, are they scans or something?, once u get some proper screenshots/vids then u can pass judgement... I glad it aint some bad 3D 1st person attempt cause that would be bad... and I loved the originals...

The top down GTAs were wild fun.

It has a strong chance of being a great game in its own right, even if its not like the recent illiterations.
