The M rated sticker? Seriously, what is wrong with you? I'm asking an honest question. Why would anyone buy a game for the ESBR rating. Did you even consider that maybe kids are buying these games because, they're, you know, fun? Jesus Christ you're just not gonna let this go are you. At least make some kind of decent argument.
Yes, but there are other good games that are not M-rated.
How about Okami, Zelda, Mario, Madden, Pokemon, Gunstar Heroes, and such?
You are acting as if a game has to be good, it has to be an M-rated game. That is how those kids think!
he never said that, you're putting words in his mouth.Well, technically he did, but anyway, that is not the point.
Let's say there two superb games, they are AAA, they both got the same score, and are both competitors for Game of the Year. But in of them is rated E and the other is rated M. What will you choose. To a older gamer, this might be a problem, which one to choose? But for a young gamer, the issue is easier. Just pick the game that he can play.
The problem is, kids are completely and blantantly ignoring the E game and picking the M rated game just because it is for older kids! That is not right!
I can 100000000000000000000% guarantee you that if the E rated game is an extremely fun adventure game or shooter, some kind of really fun game and if the M rated game is a sports game or some kind of building sim, let's say Ceasar 4 or something like that (not saying it's a bad game), with blood and some violence, the kid will aim towards the E game because it appeals a lot more to him. That's the thing, GTA is indeed M rated, but it's a very fun game, and that's what kids want. They don't exactly look at the tag, they hear about how fun the game is and want to try it.
A shooter E-rated? A sports game M-rated? What kind of games are those?:P
Anyway, how do you know what appeals more to a kid. DOn;t you remember being a kid? I sure do. I miss those days. But I remember what I liked and did not like. I liked games. I was holding a copy of Diddy Kong Racing, about to buy it. Then I saw Goldeneye 64. I dropped Diddy Kong and went to the game. But i was not old enough to buy it. My parents were smart enough to tell the differnce, and I could not buy Goldeneye. So I got Diddy Kong Racing instead. As it turns out Diddy Kong Racing was an awsome game. I quickly forgot about Goldeneye.
But most parents don't much about the game industry. What if I had gotten Goldeneye? Diddy Kong mademe fall in love with racing games. To this day, I have Diddy Kong as my favorite videogame character. But if I had gotten Goldeneye, I wouldn't be a fan of racing games, but instead of FPS games. The thrill of the gun would be with me forever. I would had been a completely different gamer.
Bith awsome games, but two different endings.
I played mainly sport and racinggames when I was little, now I hate sports games, I'll like an arcade racer, but I don't like simulators, and I had GT2 as a kid. I was too young to play most shooting and RPG games, but I now I love RPGs and shootinggames. Just because you played it as a kid doesn't mean you'll like it when you're older.
