GTA V for PS4 apparently demoed, fan impressions (GAF)

Could just be an elaborate ruse, but this all corroborates the trailer shown at E3, which was of a game that looked significantly upgraded from the PS3/360 versions.

Ok so a few responses.

1. I saw this at the GameStop managers conference in Anehiem. Rockstar gave a 45 minute closed doors presentation.

2. They showed us multiple locals. The city, underwater areas, country side etc.

3. Foliage has been completely reworked. Tree barks been redone, individual grass blades, wild flowers etc. This applies to underwater areas as well. Completely reworked coral reefs and underwater plants.

4. Draw distance now is INSANE. One example they showed us was the main city at night. They showed it on PS3 first amd showed us how all lighting at a distance was pre baked. In the remaster its all pre loaded in real time and is dynamic. You can see lights and traffic flow from massive distances.

5. Water rendering system has been completely redone. Rivers / Ocean / rain are gorgeous

6. No release date given. They simply said soon.

7. Animal texture work has been 100 % re done.

8. Anti Aliasing looked great with little to no jaggies. Looked 1080p to me. It was demoed on PS4.

9. Promised "new" content. One example was new songs / soundtrack / radio stations.

10. Best remaster Ive seen by far. I literally gasped at the differences.

Well it's not Naughty Dog so you can actually expect improvements.

My PC is ready.

Ugh. Should've waited a year for GTA V. Bought it for the heists that were promised the month after... Lesson learned I guess. Will just wait for some modder to put some heists on the PC version.

Heists SHOULD be ready by the time they release the next gen versions. Rockstar really dropped the ball with that one..i also picked up the game looking forward to heists.

Framerate? I couldn't give two shits about those improvements if it still looks and runs like a slideshow at times.

That's not exactly new info. We can figure all of that by looking at the last year's E3 trailer.

I really need to know if vehicles have native interior/cockpit view. That would be so awesome!

Indeed. Even so, the cockpit view in Watch Dogs was very limited. I'm sure Rockstar could do alot better.

Still don't wanna go through the campaign again. And the multiplayer is weak.

Very cool they went the extra mile. It has me curious to see the changes but will it be enougjh for me to buy it again? Probably not.

RockStar might sucker in all those idiots that bought TLOU again with virtually no changes.

A big improvement that is being made that is important is the amount of traffic and civilians that are in the game. LA is a crowded place and the last gen versions of it felt empty due to the limits of the hardware.

Leave it to Rockstar to get stuff right. Simply the best devs. I cant wait to get back into los santos.

It will be worth it on pc to see what mods get madde for it, the better performance and visuals alone isbt enough incentive for me to buy the game full price again 12 months later.

I liked gtav but I think I'm gonna wait or simply just not buy. Tlou remaster is sitting on my shelf collecting dust because I'm just not going to play it for third time while other games wait to be played the first time.

Agreed, I actually thought Heists would of been in the main game, we got like 1 true heist which we was involved in the way they was talking about it, it seemed like Heists were going to be all over the show and then the online Heists they went on about, completely fell for that as well. hopefully they come to this game.

Hell, Ballad of Gay Tony is a lot "crazier" than GTAV is.

Ehh, nothing in TBoGT really compared to this. GTA V has pretty superb mission design IMO.

But I do think the characters, writing, and atmosphere were better in IV.

That's about as crazy as GTAV gets, and it happens so rarely. TBOGT kicks ass throughout the entire campaign.

Yeah, agreed with that. Hardly felt carried by the story or characters in GTAV.

No need to feel so insecure about console hardware . It is not a port , that's all what I'm saying . I am not saying that this game is maxing out console hardware . LOL , don't worry , "Sony Rocks" . Both current and last gen versions were in development together . Nothing too "bleak" about speaking the truth .

Whether the graphics are fully remastered or not is not going to save this game from its absolutely snooze inducing mission design and juvenile story.

Sounds like what I've been saying for a long time, GTA V was a PC/Next Gen game all along. These kind of changes aren't just small visual reworks of a quick port.

Not at all. You don't just add in this kind of stuff. This is the kind of stuff you build originally and scale back on.

What was telling was the animations on the dashboard of a car. That's not a quick little addition during a remaster. Those systems have existed throughout the development of this game.

It was pretty obvious too after the first round of screenshots were shown and then the PS3/360 version ended up looking nothing close to them. This game was never built to be just on the PS3/360. They wouldn't have run at sub 30fps if they were. This was a PC/Next Gen game from original design but they decided to not wait and put a very slimmed down port of them on the PS3/360 for cash.

Doesn't matter too much for GTA, doesn't exactly require low latency. I mean, RDR was fine on Ps3, imo. LA Noire was locked at 30 fps and I didn't even notice on pc until I started up afterburner. Sometimes it just doesn't matter that much. Albeit, I would certainly prefer 60 fps. I'm not going to defend that 30 fps is better than 60 fps.

I'm sure the PC version will be unlocked, though.
