What? There is no way that games like Gears or Uncharted are better than GTA in an overall sense. GTA IV is epic, and the main story is one of the better ones in gaming.

I'm still thinking Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty had the best story, but until I play Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots I'm not to sure.

Not really, if a game presented the Lord of the Rings trilogy as it's story, BUT instead of telling it through cutscenes or gameplay it shows you in book form which just pops up occasionally..would you like that?

The presentation of the story is also extremely important, and I think that's something Kojima has nailed down brilliantly with the Metal Gear series.

i know. And you definately get more effect out of a story and you can certainly judge a story by playing it. Dont get me wrong I am fully aware of this. But I have never really played that much of the mgs series, but I know the story of the games is considered very good and the work of the cutscenes helped me realise that it genuinely was significant that the series was ending in this way.

The point I was trying to make is that I know through cutscenes and trailers that mgs4's stroy will be good, i will only know how good the story is through actually playing it, but you can judge from trailers and cutscenes whether the story will be decent. Of course there are exceptions but as mgs is a cutscene heavy game, it's something you can judge based on trailers.

um yes? it is comming to light alot more now that the game doesn't deserve a 10 the game is filled with glitches that are obvious, its slow paced and shallow, its repetitive, and its limited all in the name of graphics, San andreas was much better it got 10s because its the next big thing not because its actually worth those 10s, and i wont even mention the online which is broken on both systems.

@kool-aids sorry but what he says is logical and actually fact, the ps3 version has less total reviews so has more of an average score, if it had the same amount of reviews then it having a higher score would mean every thing, but because it has less reviews its 10th of a percentage point means nothing.

I'll admit that GTA IV has the best story of the entire GTA series (which isn't saying much when they usually consist of angry Italians or black men getting reveng on someone who wronged them) but one of the better ones in gaming? Not even close. Maybe I'm just not seeing the "literary genius" or "characteristic masterpiece" that so many fanboys have been raving about, but to me, while the story is decent and Niko is a compelling character, it's not exactly groundbreaking.

really i consider re4 the highest ranking game. its not even on the 10 anymore thanks to multiplats all being up for each platform wtf...but it had over 100 reviews, a higher average review or average score than anything and just barely under prime in total score
