look im not saying that Forza is better because ive always been a fan of Gran turismo, I had the first one the day it came out on Playstation 1 and I LOVED it. same story with the second. But the ratings do mean something... I mean ratings show how good it is, and if something has a higher rating than the other, what does that mean?? And if you look at other game sites, It seems like gamespot has a more rigorous rating system. But im definitly excited for both of them to come out... But i was really really impressed when I watched my brother play the GT HD demo on his HD TV, got me really excited about it. Too bad I have to wait until Q4!! I have a feeling Gran turismo may be better, but its going to be very close! Forza will be out in a few weeks, and that might change our opinions when it comes out. But if you guys keep saying that ratings dont mean anything, then Forza 2 comes out and gets a bad rating, you wont be able to say HA! LOOK AT THAT HORRIBLE RATING FORZA FANS!!  GT4 has the best physics, and only got a lower score than Froza because of bad AI and lack of online.  GT5 and Forza 2 will both be great, but I think GT5 will be the better sim.

Cows play system wars like a Round of Golf. The lowest score wins. For example....

8.9 > 9.2

and we all know about infamous....

8.6 > 9.6 

Makes perfect sense to me and it should to all of you to lol

Just cause a game scores lower does not mean it's worse that's just the reviewers opinion of the game. F1 on the ps3 is great but because yanks love nascar and the difficulty it got a low score.

Well, F1 isn't bad, but compared to F1 Challenge 99-02(2003 game mind you) it falls flat. And that got 8.9, so there really wasn't a way to score F1 higher than low A 

I don't know why people are even bothering? I mean considering what's out on PC and what's coming out this year and later neither Forza2 nor GT5 are likely to land even in top5 best physics engines. So why even bother with those flamewars?AdrianWerner

That is why games get offical hype threads, games are marked down to exceed, meet, or not meet hype. Scores and sales are the game of system wars. If you don't like it then quit complaining about it. Nobody is telling you that you have to use GS reveiws to buy games or that one makes one better then another. But here on SW it is the definitive reason for bragging rights. That's just the way it is. By SW logic two games of the same genre that come out right next to eachother can be compared equally thus score is relevant.

I don't know about that :) It's definitly the best one for begginers and over all most polished one, but if you're -past newbie stage then rFactor and NetKar PRO are both better (rFactor MP totally owns GTR2, which is curious, considering GTR2 is using rFactor engine, I don't know what happened to net code at simbin)

Yea I will give you props on rFactor it's a great game but it's for advanced racers only, while GTR 2 can be played by all so that's why I give it the edge. However rFactor's online play owns GTR 2 lol that much is true there is much less lag imo but in GTR 2 defense it's got more traffic.

Go to granturismoworld.com and watch Sebastian Loeb(3 times WRC champion) testin GT cars

you just lost all your credubility there (if there was any to begin with). GT was praised as one of the best racing sim there is, and your opinion said its crap means nothing.

btw, people play racing games to race, not to see nuts and bolts flying around. real-time damage is just a nice add-on, but it by no way affects anything. even after you blow up your car, the game will automatically reset and give you another "new" car to drive, whats the point.

Yea I understand alot of people don't like damage but in a racing simulation game it should be there. If casuals don't like it they could turn it down or off. You should not be able to ride walls in a car sim or play bumper cars with no penalty whatsoever imo. This is something I hope gt5 will fix along with online play without needing your pc to play like gt4. The ps3 has the power now it's up to PD to do it or forza 2 will own them imo.

Gt4 had everything else now gt5 should take what made gt4 great and add on to the simulation aspect of the game not gust add graphics.

In gameplay Forza 2 smokes GT HD really hard. Forza has the most advanced physic ever and amazing costumatization and tons of other stuff.

Even 1up said that Forza has a fantastic gameplay and that the cars react better then in any other racing game.
