Guerilla admit touching up KZ2 shots

Remember those recently released screens that showed yet more improvements for the graphics of KZ2 well it turns out they were doctored

Yeah, they made the colour a lot more vibrant...I dunno why they thought that'd be a good idea. I mean, it's fairly obvious that it looks different from the trailer we last saw, which imo, looks terrific.

I think the game has great graphics...hopefully the gameplay - which is of course the most important aspect - is awesome.

it still needs some more work... textures are lackluster. but i think the game will be one of the most immersive shooters ever created.

they didn't... don't make up stuff. there was some color correction (=normal) and probably some smoothing.

They wouldn't be the first company to do it (Im looking at you Ubisoft). But the trailer looked good. The texutres need to be attneded to though.

ok let me rephrase that the "colour correction" makes it look like KZ2 has better lighting than it actually does.

Something happened. I thought it was obvious to begin with, especially since essentially the shots are the exactly the same. Plus, this occurs more frequently than many catch. Killzone 2 is being "called out" or brought to the stage because the graphics are one of the leading hype elements that draws out on the boards and in the press. Xire_XII

graphics is the least of my worries, i just hope they can deliver on some solid gameplay... volcus

Yeah, this is true alright. Still, the game looks much better in motion than it does in screenshots.

Also, gameplay > graphics. I don't care if they look close or the same compared to teh CGI trailer.

Dream on. :| This isn't the first time devs have done this anyway.

Even if the touch ups were only minor, the difference they made is pretty big in my opinion.
This kind of stuff is unacceptable imo, no matter who the devs are, although this case isn't as bad as the red steel screens.

nope. the color correction is about correcting color... no lighting. you are wrong, and by it you are creating a wrong idea about the level of doctoring here.

that's such nonsense.. touching up has nothing to do with the art style.. sure, you might not like it, but why say: "even with touching up...", while you just don't like the colour they chose...

But isn't that the point, really? People will sue you just because they know you have something. There are times when fighting the good fight can still leave you screwed. This is the problem with the legal system, but it's also the reality. You can be RIGHT and still LOSE. Going to court is like rolling the dice. And if your legal fees for WINNING a long trial are $300,000...is it not the better investment to spend $100,000 and make the whole situation go away?

That's why people settle. Not because they don't think they'll win...not because they don't think they're right...but because it's a roll of the dice to prove it...and because it'll cost you a lot more to defend yourself than it is to settle.

"So why don't more people just frivilously sue others?" People do it every day. Obviously I don't know beyond the shadow of a doubt that MJ is innocent, but I've seen enough of these situations to know that things should rarely be taken at face value.

I will tell you right now. THere will be a ton of Sony haters saying, "OMG! COws are owned again!" and "Lol! Sony always lies about everything! Flop confirmed!" There will also be people pointing out that all companies touch up their screen shots.

The funny thing is the haters seem to ALWAYS be the first to post touched up (sometimes even CGI) pics of their own as if they were actual in-game gameplay. But the second a Sony game does it (and admits to it), they act as if Sony is the only company that ever does it...or they go into damage control and say their game looks ever BETTER than the CGI pics they posted.

We've all seen the game in motion and it looks beautiful. To act as if that is a lie because of some touched up photos is ridiculous.

All this company seems to be doing so far is lying to people. That's really sad and proves the game might just really suck! I mean if they are scared to show us what it is NOW, then their hiding something. No I'm not a fan-boy either. I do think however that it's foolish to say the company's not lying to us. It's evident they tried to deceive us twice already. First the video back in 06 and now doctored shots.

For all u sony haters I guess bungie lied in there trailers where theres a pretty big difference between the trailer and acutally game. Also u could say that theylied even more with that one ad with everyone dieing and u see master chief near death.So down with BUNGIE because there liers and no one has ever lied with game trailers!
