Guerrilla Games actually made it !

Love the horrible textures. Horizon looks pretty good for a console game, but KZ2 looked like ass on release. It was a plethora of low res textures, low poly characters, and tiny environments with some decent lighting.

Also, the linear, boring dredge through the campaign didn't help. There's a reason you see no one talk about the game except here on system wars where cows still try to use the game as ownage simply because a bunch of Sony magazines gave the game a 9 or 10.

If we're arguing the campaigns of Killzone 2, I agree with the gents that say those games were mediocre at best. And really, they it was closer to a bad game. I would argue barring some note worthy short comings, the multiplayer was genuinely very good.

I think the notion that it was ever a better game than Halo is a bit much, usually tied to the "hur durr Halo has aim assist, Killzone is teh more skillful"...while completely ignorning one game uses arena shooter principles, and the other game uses things like perks and class based gimmicks to offset player skill and get them cheap kills, ala stuff you see in Call of Duty, but that's neither here nor there.

Horizon has terrible art design. Just awful. Many games can blend realistic with surreal and have it work. This game does not. The robots look absolutely dopey. They look cheesy. Especially with the more realistic looking environments. They really stand out as ugly.

It's almost as if the game was not designed for gameplay but rather the devs sat down and asked "How do we make people think we're cool?! I know: DINOSAUR ROBOTS! WAOW!"

Given that the thread creator made the inane claim that the creators of last gen's FPS masterpiece KZ2 have made some sort of shocking leap in development prowess, how is that remarkable?

Yes, to him it does. Why does a review score have to matter to him? A review score is the number that one person, the reviewer gave the game. The reviewers aren't buying mems his games, are they? Then why should their score matter to him? I disagree with him because I liked Killzone2, 3, Mercenary a lot. But that doesn't mean my opinion is a fact either.

Dude I cant educate you on the realities of why entertainment is subjective to each individual anymore. Its not my fault your local education system failed you.

I remember often being intruigued by some of their eariler Resistance titles, I came close to getting a PS3 on several occasions because of that and Demon Souls. It's nice they were able to try something different and succeed, but I think there are some hardcore KZ fans that might not want to see KZ vanish completely. It wouldn't necessarily be a bad idea if they did go back with a KZ5 and made something quite solid out of it. I think that would get my attention more to be honest, but it's just a matter of personal preference.

Resistance series was made by Insomniac, not GG. Resistance 3 is lightyears ahead of GG's KZ efforts, btw! Cool game.

@Thunderdrone: oh wow, my bad, I didn't know. That does ring a bell though, I just didn't see it mentioned in the recent discussions much. But yeah, I think it was RE3 that had caught my attention at the time. Either way, congrats to their success.

It's a fantastic game. The story is captivating and original but not completely (nothing is, really). Mesmerizing environments, detailed characters, and extremely engaging gameplay make this game truly wonderful. And I'm still halfway into the game. Taking my sweet time. Best game in awhile for me actually. Nier and Nioh are next.

I really want to play The Evil Within 2.

He is one of those guys that has a hard time enjoying a single player game. The kind of person that needs explosions every 5 minutes. Even if you give him a nice story, he isn't gonna pay attention and miss out on everything THEN bitch cuz "it ain't good enough to grab my attention". I have some friends like he is irl. Always laughing at their asses when they miss out on quality stuff such as TW3 because "it has no multiplayer".

I'm hesitant on getting it.. as I just picked up zelda. I KNOW as soon as I get it, Zelda's going on the back burner.

I started Horizon just today. It's no Witcher 3 (that game has certainly spoiled me) but it's pretty good so far.

Especially now that I thought about it since and realized that the first was held back by last gen. I mean just look at Shadow of War to look at how well a sequel can get from a game that was on last and current gen for it's first game. =w=

Yeah, it's just a coincidence that pretty much all Sony games suddenly started featuring women as main protagonist and in non-sexual way. Hell they turned even GoW into a Dad of Bore: The Last Son of Rome edition. Not only that when a review specifically talks about how Alloy being a woman i so wonderful, it raises your eyebrow. Clearly Sony saw that SJWs got big this gen and they are now riding this trend.

P.S. I don't have a problem with man/woman being a protagonist or diversity in games but in case of Sony and this very particular case, it reeks of SJWs.

Not everything but if you were watching Sony closely and following the interviews/tweets of Druckmann, you can easily see the direction they are going. Besides, just last gen both GoW and KZ were pretty much the exact opposite of what these studios are doing currently.

Borderlands 2 was SJW propaganda so was Dragon Age Inquisition.

The only thing you need to get is that zeeshanhaider is Guerrilla # 1 hater in this place,so no matter if the game is the best thing ever made,he will downplay it,the guy has more killzone hating post than probably any other member in this place.

Coming from a gaming PC with gtx 1080 and playing Horizon on my Pspro with a 4K display, I'm amazed how beautiful the game looks.

One of the best looking games this gen and fun to play too.

Best overall game of this gen that I have played so far. Surprised how I want to keep coming back to the game every other day. I usually lose interest within a few hours; especially open world snore fests.

I dislike open world shooters that get repetitive fast...

First I don't have any problem with games featuring female leads. I loved old Tomb Raider games, NOLF and Bayonetta because the devs designed the games as per their vision and in good goofy fun. That's not the case with Horizon. The decision to make Alloy the protagonist is clearly to appease SJWs to get brownie points for the game after their 4 continuous flops and the reviews are even proof of that. Furthermore, as you see other Sony titles you can see the pattern clearly. They like following trends and following SJWs is their latest.

Oh and Alloy is not a good female lead. Far from that, she is a female lead for the sake of being a female lead, zero relevance to the game world.

Not my fault that Garbage Games have only made garbage in their entire career. This is the studio that's responsible for the abomination known as Crapzone.

I find Killzone 2 a game with aim assist so low it feels like there is almost none a lot better than the aim assisted garbage of the mainstream games. Not just that but the feeling of weight on KZ2 is something that takes getting used to, but with practice you get the hang of it. Its kinda like adapting to gravity... something we feel in real life. If i carry all the load a soldier has i wont be moving with 0 weight noob of duty style jumping in the air with 0 recoil. Oh yea... great recoil on KZ2.. the true hardcore shooter of PS3. Noobs run! lol
