1) These guys are morons for announcing they are going to hack someone.
2) They need to go to jail and be someone's special lady.

Because he's most likely a lemming judging by his standpoint. um im confused why does supporting the hackers make him a lemming? Fact remains, I was right and I only guessed merely by reading his post through someone else quote. So there must be some truth behind the madness eh?[QUOTE="Mystic-G"][QUOTE="danish-death"] Why? Sony have already been shown the "might" of the hackers. WHY do they need to continue? WilliamRLBaker
These people hacked PBS of all things. Yes, the purveyors of such evils as Sesame Street. :|man just think what would happen if hackers found out that every other company does the samething as Sony does

 These guys are lucky that we're not at the point where corporations are more powerful than world governments yet cause when that time comes, these guys are going to get massively f***ed prison style.
any link to your claims that napster revolutionized the music industry? thought not. Napster used it it didn't set the standard *since the standard has changed* and the standard was already there All napster used was basically MIRC type file sending otherwise it set no standard.[QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"]
[QUOTE="kuraimen"]
Eh any link to that? Napster pretty much set the P2P way of sharing music files. From then on file music sharing was never the same and it had a lot to say to the subsequent record company crysis.

The music industry would be in better shape now if it had engaged with Napster rather than fought it.
In the column, Mr Taylor expressed "regret" that the music industry did not move faster to work out how to use the net to promote and sell records.
He added that the music industry in 1999, when Napster debuted, would have struggled to create that business model because of rights issues, a lack of good copyright protection software and an inability to track downloads so that royalties were properly awarded.
The music industry took on Napster, said Mr Taylor, because the file-sharing system had no interest in developing the elements needed to turn it into a business.
Finally, he said, Napster's impact would be on more than just technology.
"The invention of Napster and all that has followed may soon deliver its greatest legacy - a renaissance in artistic creativity for the digital age," he said.
Um..
You:Napster Revolutionized the music industry
Me:no it didn't it infact hampered it. Because the music industry went into hyper protective mode of it self it pulled back most plans born of the hurt they were seeing from lowering music sales to break into the digitial buisness model.
You: got a link to that?
Me:why? do you even have a link to how napster revolutionized the industry.
You:""The Music industry would be in better shape now if they had engaged with napster instead of fighting it...""
So...At the time 1999 the music industry was interested in creating a digital buisness model but lacked the means at that time but was working towards that goal to compete with lowering music sales...Napster came on the scene and allowed people to steal music and the music industry went into hyper protective mode took on napster and killed it and pushed back any plans they had for a digital buisness model out of fear...you proved me right...
Wow, it sure was great of Napster to take control of music sales out of the hands of large corporations like Universal and Sony BMG and into the hands of little guys like Apple.

No Napster actually came before the change record companies were planning if they were even planning any so they made the change faster. It's not like when Napster dissapeared the thing stopped it became bigger with more companies jumping in and the mp3 format becoming the most popular and widely distributed one. If we had left that to the record companies change would have happened much later if at all.
Maybe I need to hack XBL during E3. :PI support this group... Sony only have themselves to blame. Doing it during E3 would be nice...

At this point, I don't want these people to be tortured, imprisoned, raped, or even sued. All I want is one simple restriction for those who have proven themselves incapable of interfacing with a public network in a responsible manner: that they never be allowed to use a network-connected device again. No Internet connections. No cell phones. Not even so much as a GPS. For juveniles, this should last until age 18; for adults, life.
Yes, that will severely limit their options in today's society, let alone the future's. Too bad. They should have thought about how their actions affect others beforehand.
Very true,1) These guys are morons for announcing they are going to hack someone.
2) They need to go to jail and be someone's special lady.
DumbDubya
These idiots will never learn that to attack Sony is to attack their 50 million PSN users as we end up suffering along with Sony. So these guys have essentially made 50 million enemies, not good for them:(
I'm fine with their justification...foxhound_foxThis particular group's justification is that it's for the lulz. :/
This particular group's justification is that it's for the lulz. :/shinrabanshouLulz is as good as any. It is what they are doing that is abhorrent.
Lol. For some of those guys that IS torture. At this point, I don't want these people to be tortured, imprisoned, raped, or even sued. These guys really are a joke. They have no cause and I can't see them gaining any monetary value out of this (unless of course they are using their own in house applications to hack and then can sell them off afterwards, using this as a demonstration). Why not put their talents to good use, like, I don't know DESTROYING ACTIVISION! MWHAHAHAHAHAH  Or when they bring out the new COD subscription service, do something to bring that down and make it fall flat on its face.
All they are doing by attacking Sony is hurting there customers, which I'm sure some of these hackers themselves probably are.
Why do you think they know where they are?Why desn't sony just report these guys to the FBI before they pull of this hack?
super600
The fact that they posted this on twitter makes me laugh. And to continue this with the FBI and Homeland security on them, makes it even funnier.
[QUOTE="Arach666"][QUOTE="DarkLink77"]Well,they already did more than people thought they would a couple of months back. Yeah, but at most they're an inconvenience. Dudes need to get over themselves and go outside.Go ask Sony and the stock holders if this is only a inconvenience. Between Sony's stocks which have dropped a lot and all the money they are losing over this it has hurt Sony's wallet in a rather large way.Yes, because a few hackers will be able to bring down a multi-billion dollar corporation.
DarkLink77
Go after Activision not Sony. No one likes Activision.Dr_SnoodI wish there was a like button on the forum, just for this post. :P Seriously though, I don't want anyone hacked, Gamers lose in every situation.
I'm fine with their justification... but the fact they are trying to ruin the lives of probably thousands of people who would be out of work and have no say in anything dealing with PR sickens me.foxhound_foxWell, that's kind of collateral damage... It's like saying the rebellion was evil because when they blew up the second Death Star it was still under construction, so they murdered countless innocent contractors. To me, the part that is messed up is when hackers claim to be fighting for the consumers when their actions are hurting the consumers.
