COD 4was at 13 million as of May.I bought the pc version, if it was 360 exclusive like Halo 3 I would have bought the 360 version. A few million others would have too.

I personally believe Halo 3 would not be at 13 million yet even if it was multiplat.

The series just keeps on getting bigger and bigger (i dont expect Wars, ODST and Reach to sell near any of these).

I find it sad that people need to resort to the Halo novels to defend the uninspiring story the video games lack. Any outside source should not be considered. If the game had a good story to it, people shouldn't have to go out of their way to research the lore behind it to justify missing information. Halo's story as a whole is decent, but with the games by themselves, it is very bland, at least in my opinion.

Why not Reach? It is basically the next big Halo game, basically Halo 4.

Halo Reach is a Prequel not a sequel and if it were essentially Halo 4 it would be aptly titled so as to continue the story of the last Halo 3 game.

The sequential Halo games are the core games and then you have the fringe Hale games- Wars, ODST, Reach...

Now if there was to be a Halo Killer it would have to kill more then the game itself.

It would have to kill the Movie(s)(Pending), Animes, Novels, toys, Machinima, MLG sponsorship, Online play, Cosplay, and it's spinoffs and it is ingrained as a pop culture now- example Madam Tousen, Mad TV reference and the constant talk and attention it gets both good and bad.

Halo is actually becoming more then just a game it is becoming a franchise universe, with 343 Industries completely dedicated to all things Halo.

For any of the Halo fans here, maybe Bungie in a sense were right when they wrote in the manual, "This is there way of world domination" though they were joking about it when they made the first Halo.

Look where it is now.

Halo will continue to get bigger and bigger- The Halo fans will support it, Microsoft is supporting it and partners will want to capitalize on its popularity and it is so big that it has garnered its own anti-Halo group.

How many games can we say have that kind of attention and popularity?????

I admit that I dont like Halo 3. but this is an impressive number for an exclusive.

If I'm not mistaken, Halo 3 sold around 20k in June so I think it could pass the 10 million mark either this month or next.

Killzone 2 imo was just as good as halo 3, not really better but just as good imo.

But tbh nothing will beat the popularity of halo, at the end of the day when it came on the xbox it was a huge thing for console gamers and that will never wear off. As long as devs put halo and FPS toghether, sales like this will always happen...

I really want to know if bungie is good enough to make a game which has nothing to do with halo, and can make the same success out of it without even mentioning its by the same guys who made halo. It would be much harder today and if they did Id be impressed.

Actually, Mario Kart Wii is now apporaching if not over 20 mil, along with Wii Fit. SSBB and Mario Galaxy both are over 13 million at the min.

Remember, SSBB especially is big in Japan. Something that Halo 3 did not have. Big difference there.

Bungie already had two AAA franchises under their belt before halo.....marathon and myth. im sure whatever they decide to do after halo will be pretty damn good.
