Halo 3 flopping = Extinction Level Event

Every single lemming on this board would shrivel up and die if Halo 3 flops. I mean as much trash we all talk. As much fun we poke at the other factions. If our queen, our ace, our MVP, our finishing move or whatever you want to call it flops... If Halo 3 flops, it's going to be an extinction level event that would destroy lemmings forever. It doesn't matter what the 1st 2 Halos scored. The whole series is riding on this one game.

After what these other games have scored, i'm a bit scared 9/27/07 could be the death of all lemming kind

Not really, the 360 has many more new IP's and other already strong proven IP's coming out around or after Halo 3. The Xbox doesnt rely to much on Halo anymore, it is a huge icon for the Xbox but its not something that makes or breaks the system. Though on SW that would defiantly cause for hundreds of people to be banned for spamming and flaming.

Actually, I think there's a good chance of it scoring an 8.5. Especially after the Metroid Prime 3 and Bioshock reviews. If it just offers more of the same Halo without any real ground breaking new material, then I'm sure it won't getabove 9.sonicare

That's what I've been thinking too. Especially after seeing the Bioshock and MP3 reviews.

This logic underscores the cows belief that "the 360 ONLY has halo3"...

and that's simply not the case.

if it flops, i'll point the finger at Bungie and continue to buy other 360 games.

however, bungie's delivered before on both occassions. I don't see why they won't this time...

Yeah I get your point,anyway,and call me crazy,but I'm looking forward to KZ2 more than Halo 3.From the looks of the few videos I've seen that game might just be an "epic" IMO.

I agree ,Halo CE was overhyped,but it was still a really great game,and just to have a FPS of that quality on a console was pretty cool.

I think it looks way better than Gears; the graphics are extremly crisp and clear along with barely any jaggies if not none at all which was a big problem in Gears. The overall graphical effects and detail totally destroys Gears from what Ive seen.

To put it simply, its not gonna happen. I could care less about Halo (IMO is just another shooter, just a way overhyped and well marked one, and yes, I played theone and thetwo, if just a couple times, and saw nothing more nothing less). It may be fun for you guys who like it (just like I love to play RPGs and most hate them, its a matter of gaming taste). Enjoy it.

As an actual E.L.E., its possible, bututterlyimprobable.

How can Halo CE be overhyped? It wasnt barely hyped at all before launch, it even had a horrible showing at the E3 before launch and people were sceptical of the final product. Though when released it became an instant hit and was one of the best games at the time.

Halo 2 on the other hand was over hyped and it was impossible to meet expectations. Now with the beta and barely anything being shown except now with only 1 month away there isn't much time for the game to be hyped beyond belief like Halo 2 was. Though Halo 3 is hyped a lot its definatly being more controlled than Halo 2's was which is good not only for gamers but the actual game.

I'm gonna hide somewhere if it flops. No way am I going to clean up that mess.. :|JustPlainLucas

lol first i think alot of people would agree with me that halo 3 isnt top on their list of games for the 360 and do you understand that its not possible for this game to flop there are so many pre orders that im sure it will break rcords on its first day.

also you have to factor in that even if halo 3 was just halo 2 released again it would sell like hot cakes

Not really, I mean there are a few idiots out there going "OMG A FLAMETHOWER, GOTY FOR SURE!!!" but overall most of the other hype has been relatively justified and I think as long as they keep it down to earth and not like the example I just gave it should be fine.

new as in gameplay, not just upgraded gfx or different story/chareacters/enemies

Im calling Halo 3 getting a 8.5 from GS which is a flop to me cos of its overhype with a review that goes like this "great game, great story, great multi-player but seems a little like weve been here before"
