Halo 3 flopping = Extinction Level Event

Actually, I think there's a good chance of it scoring an 8.5. Especially after the Metroid Prime 3 and Bioshock reviews. If it just offers more of the same Halo without any real ground breaking new material, then I'm sure it won't getabove 9.sonicare

Even if halo 3 got the lowest scores ever it would sell in the millions.

I don't think it will happen. It seems like Bungie's adding a lot of extra stuff. Online co-op, metascore, saved films, Forge, etc. should be enough to stave off cries of 'rehash!'.

But lets say it does. Lets say Gamespot gives the game 8.5 for some reason. Does it really matter? I'll read the review, but I'll probably get the game anyways. It's not like that number really affects me.

Every single lemming on this board would shrivel up and die if Halo 3 flops. I mean as much trash we all talk. As much fun we poke at the other factions. If our queen, our ace, our MVP, our finishing move or whatever you want to call it flops... If Halo 3 flops, it's going to be an extinction level event that would destroy lemmings forever. It doesn't matter what the 1st 2 Halos scored. The whole series is riding on this one game.

Halo 3 is lookinggood, not as good as crysis or any other high end PC game coming.

if it gets 9.0 it succeeds. if it got 8.0+ it would still be good, so how could anyone be so stupid to say it would flop at that score? a flop is 5.0 or lower imo.

360 has many great games, even if halo 3 didnt succeed its not like it would kill the machine.

Not as good as expected = flop, and hype of 9.5 and then gets 8.0, thats a flop because it was expected to be a lot better.

If Halo 3 scores anything less than a 9.0, I will instantly neglect ANY Gamespot review. There is just no way Halo 3 can score lower than Halo 2 (or even do worse than the difference between Halo 1 and 2's scores) with how much new crap their adding, not to mention how Bungie is going all out with the title. Halo 2 to Halo 3 has 100x more new features/content than the change from Halo 1 to Halo 2.

Though, I already place IGN in higher regards, but none the less... I do respect GS's scores.

EDIT: Unless of course if there is something terribly wrong with the game that Bungie screwed up on.

People on system wars have a very strange method of hyping games. Flashy graphics and neat trailers seem to hook people into hyping games. But in truth, a game is only as good as the development team behind it. Had people know this when HS, for example, was being hyped, they would have been spared a lot of dissapointment. Bungie is an allstar dev team, and their not selling their game on flashy graphics, their selling it on the fact that it's an excellent game. Sure it isn't the flashiest, but Halo 3 will be AAA.agentfred

this game needs no review... everyone knows exactlywhat it is and has seen what it has to offer. after all that, who here honestly needs a review of this game?(that is not a fanboy looking for ownage)

from what it seems this game will be a hell of a lot better than halo 2 and that in itself is a must buy for most gamers out there. do those people need a review? hell no! i dont know for sure but i'm willing to bet that a lot of people that are getting this game decided on getting it a long time ago... that's why there are so many pre orders for it.

my point. a lot of gamers out there would feel indiferent about reviews for this game since they already know what it has to offer and already know if they like halo or not

Nah, it won't flop. It's going to be a great entry to the trilogy with many new things to bring to the table. It's controls, graphics, and sound are all superb. So it won't suffer there.

Anyway,Killzone 2, MGS4, FFXIII will have the same effect on cows if they flopped. Especially Killzone 2.

I prefer to look at the entire picture, but if you're going to claim that a game is a flop you are going to have to use Gamespot in the Gamespot forums, same if you want to go against it.

A lot of the times I don't even go by reviews if I like a game I like it, but it's absurd to come into the Gamespot forums where we only use Gamespot reviews to decide whether or not a game a flop or success and claim otherwise. :/

Maybe in your little world it didn't flop, but don't come into ours with that attitude. ;D

No, basically what I'm saying is.

In a discussion, you can't claim the game hasn't flopped at GS while using reviews from other sites. It's always been that way, Gamespot reviews govern whether or not a game flops here in System Wars not other websites.

Lemmings would survive Halo 3's floppage. Sheep survived TP.

They'll hate on the reviewer, some will (account) suicide, and Casey will deem the lemmings' ranting "the worst he's ever seen over a score."

But in the end, they'll survive. And maybe, just maybe, they'll see what that handsome sheep was talking about in that one thread about Halo flopping... ;)
