[QUOTE="stvee101"][QUOTE="justforlotr2004"][QUOTE="stvee101"][QUOTE="mtradr43"] [QUOTE="stvee101"]Nah I wouldn't worry,it may not be the graphical show-stopper that everyone thought it might be but bungie know what they're doing, and more importantly, how to make a great game.justforlotr2004
you sure? new footage of the game shows its looking pretty damn good right now.
I'm not saying it doesn't look damn good,it's just that I think a lot of people,me included.expected to be blown away by the graphics just like I was with Halo CE.I mean it doesn't even look as good as Geow(not saying that's a bad thing cos Geow is still the best looking console game out IMO)which is almost a year old.
I think it looks way better than Gears; the graphics are extremly crisp and clear along with barely any jaggies if not none at all which was a big problem in Gears. The overall graphical effects and detail totally destroys Gears from what Ive seen.
It looks way better than Geow? Now your entitled to your opinion and I respect that, but I seriously suggest you invest in a pair of glasses my good man
Nah I got 20/20 vision, I just know that visuals are just more than just one layer. Gears to me is a one layered game and Halo is a multi-layered game.
By layers I mean details, like say Halo 3's water, and although you may think this is another big statment the water is in Halo 3 is better than Bioshocks 1 layered water. The Water in Bioshock is nice but its just a visual eye candy and although it adds a lot of atmospher and is a big part of the game its not interactive at all; Where as halo 3's water is interactive on multiple accounts with not only objects floating and going down stream but also the water moves around any of those objects. In Bioshock you can jump up and down and all it does is the standard bubbled overlay and no ripples or anything.
Next you got the draw distance, in Halo 3 you can see miles off pretty clearly and it doesnt look like blurry textures, in Gears you can barely see 50 feet without the objects getting very blurry. You may say thats realistic but unless you got horrible eyes it shouldnt do it the way it does in Gears.
Then you got the foilage and enviromental things like birds and stuff (which btw in Bioshock you cant even beat the fish up that is flopping around on the ground :( but in Halo 3 you can kill the animals). In Gears many of the effects like the trees in the rainy level are cheap tricks to make it look like they are detailed moving trees but if you look closely they arent as good as they seem and the foilage in the game isnt interactive. In Halo 3 the foilage in Halo 3 is interactive on occasions like bumping up against a bush or an explosion landing next to a bush and causing it to wave in the blast.
Thats all I got for now since I gotta leave for work but thats a quick overview of what I mean by better visuals, its not just one layer I look at to see how good the game looks.
Nice response,I'll agree about all the little graphical touches in the game you might miss if you don't look close enough :P.But to say it totally destroys Gears is a bit ridiculous.Anyway when Crysis (sorry for mentioning it) comes out all those little touches (water, wildlife, trees etc )aren't going to look that great.
