Funtionality/Ownage >>> nostalgia/sweet memories.
That's why the crowbars fails.
I disagree, having fun with a weapon is a lot more important than "functionality/ownage". The Painkiller is better than this hammer anyways.Based on the info released, it sounds like Im gonna have a lot more fun with the hammer BECAUSE of its functionality. I barely used the crowbar in HL anyways.
And seriously, whats up wiht Glitchspot. It's eating like 80% of my posts today.

[QUOTE="The_Game21x"][QUOTE="Vandalvideo"]And where on earth is he going to put that thign when hes not using it. :oSpartan070
He's going to put in the invisible backpack o' storage that pretty much all game characters have access to. :P
It's the only way people canhold all therocket launchers, shotguns, sniper rifles, several pistols, crates of ammunition for each weapon, grenades out the ass, etc. they're carrying at any given time.
Halo games are revolutionary in the sense that there is limited weapon carrying, only two at a time, unless dual-wielding. Maybe you should loan the invisible backpack to every other FPS character.a lot of games have only allowed carrying of two weapons before. the first rainbow 6 only allowed you to carry a larger gun and a handgun.

Lems are really trying to hype this game. Poor halo fans their beloved franchise is getting really dull. I blame Mass Effect, Bioshock, Call of Duty 4 and Assasin's creed for this. These are the games that make Halo 3 feel like rehashed garbage.

right, because the FPS genre would have never evolved...and my beef is with HL2 actually. HL was great. HL2 was nothing but a poor playing tech demo with physics puzzles.[QUOTE="Tamarind_Face"]*Directs poor, helpless poster to the second sentence in the very first post of the thread**yawn*

*directs poster to xbox 360 forums and Halo 3 forums*Seriously why do you guys post this here(including all of the other halo 3 gimmicks that you praise as something new/innovative)? This weapon is a huge gimmick and its been done in thousands of action games. Hammers are one of the most common cliches in gaming. And does Halo 3 really need another weapon? this is gonna be another useless addtion to halo 3 just like the bubble shield.

People, I love the Crowbar, check my avatar, for which I dumped my old Halo 2 avatar.:|
Nevertheless, all these quasi-iconic items do not compare with:
- something that is called a "Gravity Hammer"
- something that does area-effect damage on impact
- something that has the ability to destroy/disable vehicles
- something that can be used via a baseball bat to deflect grenades
- something that can injure multiple assailants/foes simultaneously
- something that is big, imposing and strikes fear into an enemy
- something that may have a "gravity pulse" projectile attack
- something that is all these things simultaneously
I know this is my opinion but how can one argue?

I've kown about it for over a year now, I just now made the thread because I've learned it's abilities. If I was a fanboy as you said I wouldv'e made the thread a year ago based on nothing.Whenever you halo fanboys hear something new about the game, you tout it as the best thing ever.

Know what you speak of before you hit the "submit" button. This game doesnt need to be hyped, it has well over 4 million preorders. And this was in May 07.
preorders for Halo 3 have topped 4,000,000 units, making it the "most preordered video game of all time.

That's not you imitating fanboys, that's you being a fanboy.
C'mon now...
I seriously think so. I know most of you will probably think I'm just feeding off the hype of Halo 3 and will find it hard to believe me, that's ok, you're entitled to your opinion. Simply feel free to disagree.
Anyway, back to my reasons:
Negatives:
It's a melee weapon but it's also two handed so you can't use grenades.Positives:
It's very powerful. It looks awesome. It has a "lunge" attack, similar to the Plasma Sword.(not as far or quick as sword lunge)It does area-effect damage on impact, allowing you to severely damage vehicles, stop some uncoming vehicles in their tracks or possibly send multiple groud troops flying with one swing.:twisted:It has the ability to reflect incoming grenades, possibly back towards their messenger.:twisted:It may have a "projectile pulse attack", similar to the one Tartarus used to push the Arbiter into the pit during the end cutscene of Halo 2s "Quarantine Zone" level. (Remember, it's two handed so the left trigger, normally used for grenades, may be this pulse attack)
The weapon and some of it's abilities has already been confirmed by Bungie, most of this will also be confirmed in the new EGM. let's just say...trust me;)NOTE - The "projectile pulse attack is all theory on my part but I have reason to think it's very likely.

this is a thread about the best melee weapon?
oh my gosh, lemmings should be a shamed
I'm kind of shocked by the negative reaction this thread has gotten. It's a new weapon in Halo, that fits the halo universe perfectly. That's it. I'm still not over the fact that people were arguing the crowbar's superiority :?musicalmac
Exactly. People, of the "anti-Halo" persuasion, storm the thread and say "look at all teh Halo faboys hyping the smallest little thing!1!!, LLOLORZ!1!!!111!"
It's a newweapon, it's awesome, it's very cool and has great abilities. What's wrong with hyping it?
