I already knew that Halo 3 wasnt going to be that diffrent thats why i am Deffinetly not getting it their will be muchbetter FPS out their like MOH:Airborne and COD4.Keith4Chelski
Judging by your avatar, you won't be getting it because you are a PS3 fanboy, and don't even own a 360....
You know what really ticks me off? Lemmings claim that more of the same is a good thing in Halo's case, but yet when it comes to a game like Twilight Princess, also more of the same, they'll shove "8.8" in your face all day long. What makes Halo so much different in that sense?REVOLUTIONfreak
If I recall correctly, I can be seen praising TP when another poster tried to belittle it. See the previous page.
And why is everyone calling me a lemming?
I agree that halo 3 will be the best game ever.Blackout-------
Well that's not what I was trying to say, although it's possible:P
[QUOTE="snyper1982"][QUOTE="MikeE21286"]Well then why does it get so much hype....massive hype is deserved of revolutionary games, not "More of the same" SambaLele
Why dis star wars and LOTR get so much hype? They weren't revolutionary films.
even if they weren't, they would deserve the merit for being so well produced. but Star Wars was a new mark in the use of special effects on movies, and LOTR was based on the first RPG-Fantasy world mega-hit. The book was revolutionary (a dense universe, with all maps registered, races, culture, mythologies etc) for that matter.
I specifically said films, the Star Wars reference was more towards the new films, not the old ones. The old ones were revolutionary, the new ones got tons of hype though, even though they really were just more star wars. LOTR was just another fantasy movie. They both got major hype, because they have a large fan base. Same holds true for Halo. It has a large fan base, and they are excited. It is simple. You can debate the merits of the hype all you want, but what you are really debating is taste, which I find a pointless endeavor.
[QUOTE="snyper1982"][QUOTE="Redfingers"]This ridiculous "more" and "continuation" nonsense does not exonerate mediocrity. But at any rate, this is assuming mediocrity, of which I have no experience. Still, you cannot question IGN, who played it, and came away underwhelmed. "More of the same thing" is one thing, "underwhelmed" is an entirely different matter altogether.

Says the PS3 fanboy....
next time, try to prove he's wrong...
How can I prove an opinion "wrong"? LOL. Next time try to understand my point.

I already had...hard. Bare witness...
[QUOTE="Redfingers"][QUOTE="Spartan070"]I hear what you're saying, and you make a very good point, but the Halo series follows such a close knit story with the cliffhangers and everything that it's almost one big three-part game. I'd almost call Halo 3 more of a continuation than a sequel.
Spartan070
You upset me. If it was a continuation, it would be called "Halo 2, Episode 1." You're familiar with this concept, I presume, given your avatar.
Episodic content is continuation. Halo 3 is a legitimate, by the books, sequel, simple as that. It is not billed as an episodic gesture, it is billed on a sequel. It is on a different platform, 3 years later. Why wouldn't it be different? If you're trying to say that people's expectations should be lowered because Bungie isn't trying to hit a high mark with Halo 3...then people are justified in saying that it's unimpressive.
If Halo were different, but different in a good way, people would not complain. They would relish it. If it were revolutionary, people would s**** a flipping brick, okay. That's what people want. Period. They want excellence, and they CERTAINLY want to hear good news from HALO, for godsakes.

Whoa, where do I begin...A) Halo 3 is without a doubt a continuation of the story arc, are you attempting to deny this because of a developer choice in naming their product?
B) My words were "I'd almost call Halo 3 more of a contiuation than a sequel." What about this mere opinion on my part sparked this lame dissentation about word entymology on your part? Are you a judge at the SCRIPTS National Spelling Bee or something?
C) What on earth makes you think Bungie isn't shooting high? The most hyped game of the decade and the devs aren't shooting high? C'mon...
D) No, "people" do not want this "revolutionary" Halo 3 that distances itself from the previous two. The want subtle improvements, positive gameplay tweaks and the like. By people I think you are speaking of Halo fans, in which case I am probably 99% more familiar with than "red-rings-of-death-avatar-poster-guy."
E) I'm not questioning the one or two media personel that were unimpressed but I'm also not questioning the legions of media personel who were all extremely impressed by it. Those one or two opinions don't disprove or discredit the numerous opposing opinions.
F) I think I'm done here.:D Ownage Denied.

Oh, sorry. I misinterpreted.
hey, I asn't belittling it, I was just saying, TP was more of the same, which is exactly what Halo 3 is going to be. If there's one thing gamespot reviewers hate, its sequels that do not improve off of their predeccessors enough. hamstergeddon
Don't know what people say but Halo 1 was the best fpsin its time. halo 2 was the best fpsin its time and halo 3 will rule again. I never enjoyedan fps game same wayI enjoyed halo... dont come with the half life crap.. Half life 2 isnt all that great freedom fighters eats it for breakfast...
Yes I played half life and half life 2 although I never got to finish half life 1 it just wasnt fun anymore.... I gotto say I enjoyedhalf life 2 in the beginning but then it just felt like mm, especially the last level with thestupid gun...
halo already has all the features anybody would want.. Its like hey this game of chess is exactly the same game i played two years ago.. No one is trying to change Chess because its perfected. Halo 3 is taking an almost perfect formula for fun and making it better. I garuntee Killzone is going to suffer from some very bad weapon balance and other problems that will just not be present in a very refined halo 3. They worked on the game formula rather then having to start from scratch. Ill take a timeless game anyday over a flavor of the week like killzone 2. Plus the replay system, is incredible.
Your wrong, killzone does follow a story of the war in the killzone universe. In killzone you were fighting off the helghast on earth. Same thing in liberation. In 2 you take the fight to them. Im not going into details, but liberation followed the first, and so will number 2. Halo could have easily done the same as killzone, keep the story/art direction and just make it look better and add more gameplay features.Sully28
I have to agree there... TP got the ultimate shaft. It had some very good points, but then again while the game looked great by last gen standards, it was still a little blurry even running in 480P. I think if they would have voiced over zelda.... at least the NPCsand had not gone the route of midi music it would have scored higher. The level design was crazy(think magnetic boots)
However, beyond beatig the game... there was really no other reason to play it and the open ended oblivion was to much competition in that genre.. While I dont really like that game, I enjoy how you can approach every scenario differently making it truely immersive as opposed to zelda that had on fixed way to do everything...Im sure they will change this in the next zelda.
