Halo 3: ODST Official Hype Thread (sticky plz?)

Alright, so i see that the release of ODST is comming near but there is no hype thread for it yet. So I decided to make one.

Here is what Halo 3: ODST will offer you:

1. Fresh new single player as an ODST soldier.

2. FireFight Mode- you and a bunch of friends join up and beat the crap out of bots.

Addition of skulls will make this mode harder as waves move on.

(Similar to Gears of War Horde Mode and Nazi Zombie from CoD: WAW)

3. Halo Reach Beta

Here is what you will miss from the previous Halo games when you are playing ODST

1. You are no longer a spartan (Master Chief)

2. No Health Regeneration

3. No more super jump

My Thought on ODST:

Bungie has stated that ODST will be a full game. I, however, still view it as an expansion pack. That is not a bad thing though since I really like the halo series. I will be buying this either when at day 1 release or going to preorder it soon. I am excited about FireFight mode and soon to be Reach beta. Since i still view this game as an expansion pack, i will be hyping this game to be somewhere from 8.0 to 8.9 (AAE). How about you guys? Halo lovers and haters, let me know what are your hypes for the game and your thought on it? Let the discussion begin.

I had high hopes looking at screenshots but then I saw how the animation looked robotic and how terribad Sergeant J's face still looks. I predict mid to low 8's.

The Halo name and hype alone will probably earn it a AAA. Still, the story was wrapped up for me in Halo 3 so I'm just not that excited for this one. Halo Reach on the other hand, that sounds awesome as I'm really interested in the backstory.

Also, Firefight should be awesome if it's as good as Horde mode was for GeoW2.

I'm going with AAAe based on the fact that Halo fps games are always best of the bunch (except for when Timesplitters 2 came out because that was awesome)

Yeah, from what I've seen I'd guess an 8.5. Good game but nothing special. However it does bring back my all time favorite weapon of the series (pistol with zoom) so that does make me happy.

I just learned alot of the male cast of Firefly will be doing voice work for this game. Dont own a 360, but thats awesome.

I would say between 8 and 9. nothing more.

It's a freakin' Bungie-made Halo game.
I'm guessing the 'expansion' moniker is affecting SW's critical expectations for this title.

Im looking forward to odst but not as much as i was for halo 3.I dont doubt that ill like the game because im a huge fan of the halo franchise and bungie so i dont see the game sucking.Id say it will score somewere between 8.5 and 9.0 .

Well its a Halo fps so that alone usually helps gaining a few extra points.. however i did enjoy watching gameplay vids and look forward for this game..

I think it will get average scores between 8.5 - 9.0which is a great score...

Well it's a Halo game made by Bungie, so hell yeah I am looking forward to it, thanks to its bigger emphasis on stealth and a more free roam campaign. Firefight also looks like a lot of fun.

Probably an 8.5 given that its pretty much Halo 3 but playing as an ODST, and the firefight mode wont have long legs in terms of online replayability

Im hyping it AAE. Ithink its too expensive considering the short campaign and the fact that the multiplayer is the same as Halo3. Still i cant wait for firefight mode

I am hyping it 9.0, but knowing Gamespot they'll probably give it 8.0-8.5.

my guess is 8.5, although i do think it has enough content to warrant a 9, but it has to nail everything to get a 9.
