who really cares if it comes on an extra disc - it is such a ridiculous arguement to suggest that an extra disc means this game will be badvalakos

I don;t think anyone was saying it will be why the game is bad.  Its just showing a trend that may be starting.

Yes, because its bonus features, multiple discs for Halo 3 won;t be a killer.  But what happens when the extra discs start holding more important content?

[QUOTE="AdobeArtist"]How out of shape are you if you can't change a disc? :roll:dubvisions

How lame is it that you have to deal with multiple discs or take up more HDD space? Doesn;t having more discs (ones without any extra scratch protection) open the door for at least one disc to be ruined by scratches?

Why have multiple discs when you can have it all on one?

but is it worth 200 dollars more to do that? Not according to me... but maybe you have more money to through around.

I already had a heart attack with Final Fantasy VIII, and I don't want to go through that again.

Vitamin supplements and a vegetable diet should help

Ewwww veggies..... gross!

It's not worth 200$ not to swap a disc every once in a while and I swap games all day long never had any scratches.

What do you cows do when you want to play a different game, huff and puff and roll your eyes that you have to get up to swap a game, God forbid you have to get up

It's really not that big of deal as you guys try to make it seem.

Please read all my posts in this thread before trying to debate with me.  Thanks.

Fine I have. It seems as though you want props to what Blu-Ray offers. But the benefits are so weak the cost out weighs the benefits. Swaping disks come on. Not to mention the extremely low % of games that will need swapping. I'm sorry no props here.

Wouldn't you rather have more ram a faster drive or a cheaper price?

Probably the biggest game of 2007 will be Halo 3 for the Xbox 360. Gamers have been waiting for this sequel since Halo 2 came out in 2004 on the original Xbox. Bungie finally announced the releasedate last month: September 26. We've all had a chance to play the Halo 3 beta but the singleplayer of Halo 3 is still a big mystery.

Today Microsoft released the official boxarts of both the Normal Edition, Special Edition and the Legendary Edition. When you look at the Special Edition box tough, you'll notice three separate discs: Game Disc One, Game Disc Two and Bonus Features. Does this mean Halo 3 will be on two discs?

Nothing official on this but the picture surely says enough. It could be a mistake or the singleplayer and multiplayer are put on separate discs or something. Check the picture out below and jump to your own conclusions, but it looks like Halo 3 will be on two discs.

SOURCE

if true, I feel sorry for lemmings.

xxThyLordxx

I feel sorry for you loyal cows who don't see just how wonderful the 360 is because you can't look past the lack of a HD medium.  :|  HD disc provide very little advantage to the gaming industry when compared to movies.  Name for me ONE game that would truely suffer and lose it's appeal just because you'd have to change a disc once or twice throughout the game?

what a silly question to pose to a cow. Don't you know that they only believe what Sony tells them? They were told that BR is the future of gaming so naturally they buy into that crap. If sony told them that the PS3 could do their taxes and find them extras that they could claim in one millisecond, they'd buy into that garbage as well.

If there's one thing system wars has taught us, it's that cows can't think for themselves. They solely depend on their leaders to tell them what to believe. It's kinda like scientology. :P

  • BlackBond gets up.
  • Opens safe
  • Looks at all of his glorious PS1 RPG collection
  • Realizes that they are all in mint condition
  • Realizes that they are all multi disk
  • Realizes that for the most part that they are all amazing
  • Realizes that none of them are scratch
People be responcible holy crap lol. Seriously though that was a lame exuse. My PS1 games are all still in working condition I feel bad if you scratch a disk but bottom line is if you scratch a 2 disk game you at least get half a game lol if you scratch a one disk game you are screwed lol. Okay that last part was a joke just don't scratch and you won't have a problem people.

Just because many PS 1 games were 2 discs+ that doesn't mean we should go back to that.

Anyways, if it is a disc for single player and a disc for online then it's fine, a bit annoying but not a big deal.

I didn't say that. All I say is that multiple disc is an old and unconvenient feature and it's not ''nice'' to bring it back. It's not a huge deal either.

Disc chaning isn't a big deal now either unless your a Sony fanboy. Go figure

I've heard of sheep complaining about the possibility of Wii online and the friend codes but never have I heard a lemming complain about disc changing. Why? Because its not a big deal. RE4 was a two disc GOTY. Man two Disc really held it back. Especially when it could have been done on one disc on PS2

Well it's defenetly something that's not possitive so they using it agains the game, again I agree it's not a huge deal when it comes to gameplay.

Huh. Well maybe it's like gameplay extras or something. You know, like GoW 1 did except on a seperate disc? Or, this is a bogus rumor and that article is wrong? Oh well it really doesn't matter.

Yep, an online demo equals the actual game.  I guess I'm not sure why they call them demos then.

Are you serious on rental replacements and responsibility?  Have you never gone to a video rental store, rented a game, got it home, and it was scratched?  This is very common.  And this is even more of a pain in the butt when you use these new online rental places.

Weak try at trying to lower the importance of rentals.

Check the picture out below and jump to your own conclusions, but it looks like Halo 3 will be on two discs.

if true, I feel sorry for lemmings.

why you feel sorry for them?  One disk is probably Single-player and one disk is Multiplayer.  Whats the big deal?

[QUOTE="AdobeArtist"]How out of shape are you if you can't change a disc? :roll:dubvisions

How lame is it that you have to deal with multiple discs or take up more HDD space? Doesn;t having more discs (ones without any extra scratch protection) open the door for at least one disc to be ruined by scratches?

Why have multiple discs when you can have it all on one?

WOW!!! You keep your games in a safe? Mmmm hmmmmm. I'm not sure what to say to that.

I guess none of you lemmings rent games. I'm sure rentals have no bearing on the gaming industry. I'm sure games with multiple discs will go real smooth in a rental atmosphere.

..........

Lemmings prolly don't need to rent games because they get online demos:roll:

Oh and when have you rented a scratched game. If you screw up a game you have to replace it you realize that right?

Yep, an online demo equals the actual game.  I guess I'm not sure why they call them demos then.

Are you serious on rental replacements and responsibility?  Have you never gone to a video rental store, rented a game, got it home, and it was scratched?  This is very common.  And this is even more of a pain in the butt when you use these new online rental places.

Weak try at trying to lower the importance of rentals.

A demo is there for to try out the game if your not sure. Think thats what rentals are for as well.....

See that's where your argument falls apart. If you said that the regular game box had two discs then you would be onto something. Also if it's on two discs this game will still truckloads. Don't worry we aren't feeling bad about it :lol.

I doubt it. I think the whole game will fit on one disc. its not a giant rpg. Its an FPS. I dont see how long it could possibaly be. But if it is, its obviousaly 1 for MP, and 1 for singleplayer. Thats not really all that bad.

redstormrisen

A demo is free and gives you an idea if you want to spend dollar 1 on it.  Rentals are a substitute for purchase.  Your argument is like saying taking a car on a test drive and renting a car are the same.  They're not.

On a demo/test drive you are limited in what you can do with the product.  You can only go around a block or two.  With a rental you can go anywhere you want.  you just have the car/game for a limited time and you do not own it.  But enough of explaining this elementary stuff for you.

I'll repeat myself for the lemmings.  More discs opens the door for more problems.  Game rentals will be a hard thing to handle when a game has multiple discs.

It does concern me.  This anti-PS3 pro 360-wins-it-all is crap.  MS has shortcut their 360 owners and they don't even get it.

[QUOTE="BigDaddyPOLO"]I'm pretty sure those two discs are extras. Halo was never a huge game.Bansheesdie

The discs say Game Disc 1, Game Disc 2, and Bonus Features.

Ive got it, you know with Halo 2 you could either download or buy the new maps? I think the collectors edition will have extra content such as maps! and to make sure its only the Collectors edition who get it they've put it on the disc, I mean what company would want to switch from producing the normal Halo 3 and the collectors with added content when you can produce both at the same time and put the content discs with the Collectors and Legendary sets!

Or how 360 has no motion sensing.  What does the 360 have in hardware that allows it to have custom soundtracks that the PS3 doesn;t?  Nothing.  Its just a matter of an update, baby.

My bad I literally completed forgot the point of rentals. No joke I always rented to buy not to play an actual game. I see its different for everyone else. If a game gets scratched bring it back and get an unscratched game. You act like a PS3 game or a Wii rental can't be scratched either. The rental issue doens't only affect 360.

Yea you wait for something that should have been there since launch? if it's so trivial then why are you guys still waiting on it? you got that big hard drive and you can't even have custom soundtracks? pathetic!

Explain to me the shortcut of a multidisc game? You spend 15 seconds to change a disc? Oh noes....
