[QUOTE="DrinkDuff"][QUOTE="stepat201"] Sorry but you can't hide behind the "you didn't get it" excuse. I played all 3 games when they came out and the story was so easy to follow.
It just wasn't very good. It was predictable (black guy sarcrificing himself and dying with a ceesy line? lol) and it just wasn't very intersting. The Halo universe had potential but I don't think they pulled it off in these games.

I agree. Only Halo CE had a story that amounted to something decent plot-wise. At least the gameplay remained pretty good, despite how light and uninvolving the story was in Halo 2 and 3.What are you talking about? Compared to Halo 2 and 3 there was hardly anyy plot. No character development at all(where as you can't say the same about the Arbiter, the prophet of Truth, Cortana and the Gravemend) and the story wasn't very complex at all. You land on Halo, it turns out to be a weapon to kill everything and you find a race of alien zombies on it, you blow it up. The end. Halo 2 and 3's story was vastly superior(although the campaign werent).
Halo 2s story reeked potential. As soon as the Aribter was in it became interesting. Religion, politics and ideologies all came into play. And soon after it became a massive mess, of what could have been pure awesome-ness, thanks to what has become a trademark poor storytelling.
As for Halo 3.... well.... Those plot holes just got a whole lot deeper.
Its annoying - the lore is all there, and its very very good, but the games never realise it story wise, nor come close to doing it justice.
Though from what I have read of a couple of first chapters of a few books for free online, I was surprised at their quality. The comics ive read that are Halo themed are great. No, really, really good.
Probably because half of the retarded fan base whined about how you werent the chief through out all of Halo 2.

Oh indeed, most probably. Pressure from the fanbase did seem to impact on the development in more than one way, thats for sure.
