Halo 4 doesn't have any competition for GOTY

Black Ops 2 and AC3 are yearly rehashes. Mass Effect 3 ending killed its chance. RE6 flopped. Dishonored is the only other game I can think of that might have a slight chance.

An Action game, from the first person perspective. I'm sure you'll do enough shooting, and stealthing, and becoming a fish for it to be one of those "well you can't really hold it to one genre" nonsense this board gets a hard on for, but you get down to the nitty gritty. I'm still in favor of Journey at this point. Halo4 looks solid enough, but I'm not sure bringing "bigger" will equate to critical reception of "better," at least not in the ways they typically crown GOTYs. While Journey was a bit skimpy on gameplay and short, the execution on the concept of its design make it a game you have to play if you enjoy games.

I think AC3 is the only one to really give it a challenge for GOTY. The thing with Halo though is it has tons and tons of replay value for those who love their multiplayer, and very fine multiplayer it is. I'm looking forward to seeing how 343 handles this mighty franchise.
