Halo 4 doesn't have any competition for GOTY

They should just cancel GOTY because it doesn't feel like anything deserves it. So far at least. Borderlands 2 was the best so far, but imo it really doesn't feel like GOTY material.

Far Cry 3 will be GOTY.

Black Ops 2 and AC3 are yearly rehashes. Mass Effect 3 ending killed its chance. RE6 flopped. Dishonored is the only other game I can think of that might have a slight chance.

True, it's a competition that mostly targets the mainstream gamer audience, but what's the problem with that?

You can always ignore them, it's not like they affect your gaming experience in any way. That's what I do, I couldn't care less about their awards and standards, they're completely meaningless, but I don't waste time b!tching about it on the Internet...

I doubt halo will take the title, for me the top games are borderlands 2, guild wars 2, dishonored and black ops 2.

But yeah, it will have a very decent chance, after all, people love Mass Effect, a lot. That's what started this whole backlash thing, crazy love and appreciation of the franchise. And well, even though I hate EA and the direction Bioware seems to be taking, there is no denying, Mass Effect 3 is a blast to play, despite some flaws along the way!

No, there are two DLC packs released, Extended Cut, and Leviathan...

Extended Cut is free, and it "fixes" the ending...

Leviathan costs $10, and is a different DLC, it slightly expands on the story about the Catalyst and Reaper origins, but it's not mandatory to follow the game's storyline properly. Think of it as an Overlord or The Lair of the Shadow Broker for ME2...

Despite being probably the weakest year in gaming this gen, there is some stiff competition for GOTY. My personal choice won't be getting any recognition from anyone but other Tales fans but I still think Assassin's Creed 3, Dishonored, Mass Effect 3 and Guild Wars 2 will be giving Halo a run for its money.

I won't deny, I've been craving some Halo though for quite some time. Looking forward to playing it on a bud's 360.
