Halo 4 doesn't have any competition for GOTY

Lems have been riding this game so hard, i guess they forgot that 343 couldn't put out a public beta because the game is most likely terrible.

Black Ops 2 and AC3 are yearly rehashes. Mass Effect 3 ending killed its chance. RE6 flopped. Dishonored is the only other game I can think of that might have a slight chance.

Halo 4 is definitely not good enough to claim GOTY award. There are much better games such as The Last of Us and Beyond: Two Souls that can easily claim the award. Mark my words here, The Last of Us is going to be GOTY with many awards, it's going to be praised a lot and it will make people forget about Halo 4.

When was the last time a CoD game was even nominated for GOTY?

ODST was an expansion pack, and Halo Wars an RTS LULZ how does that fit in with being a rehash when everything else is FPS?

And Halo Anniversary was a remake.

Anyway, i dont think CoD or AC are rehashes. ACIII is a proper sequel to 2 and has been in development for 3 years (Just like Halo 4 which is a proper sequel to Halo 3 and has been in development for 3 years). CoD has its own 2 year cycle going on, and to be honest I haven't even looked into BLOPS2 this year as I know I'm not getting it, so not sure how different or similar it is to Black Ops 1.

I judged from Halo 4 videos on the Internet. It didn't get my "OMG, DAY F**KING 1!!!" reaction. I was like "meh, it looks familiar".

Secondly, it's a totally new IP and looks interesting.

Thirdly, so far from what we've seen through photos and videos, it looks absolutely amazing. GOTY material.

Mass Effect 3, still the most lengendary game to release this year. Only the crazy over exagerating people flipped out. Also, Bioware put out an extended ending rectifying the problems the original had. But also, The Witcher 2 has a second shot of trying to get an award this year thanks to it's release on the 360.

Also just seen the review for Dishonored, which reminds me so much of Bioshock, Half Life and such. I would say that may have a shot at GOTY. And how does AC3 being a sequal discredit it? Watching the trailers for the third game made me interested in the series and to go get the previous games.

Halo doesn't stand a chance anymore, I liked the original and 2 and haven't cared to much for it since, expecially with all changes they made to it since Reach, I simply don't enjoy it anymore. Then again, I have never been super crazy about FPS games other than the adventure type ones like Bioshock and Half Life.

I'd say Assassin's Creed III has a good shot. I'd say just as good a chance as Halo 4. I feel it's a pretty weak year over all though.

What else is there this year? Maybe Dishonored. I'm not interested in the game but from what I hear it's good.

I think Assassins Creed 3,Mass Effect 3,Guild Wars 2 and possibly Dishonored are gonna be the frontrunners. For a surprise contender I'd add XCom.

And like all of them have a realistic shot at being nominated. The only iffy ones are Borderlands 2/Torchlight II/Diablo III. If anything, they'll pick one of those three games, but otherwise these could be the nominees very easily. I have no idea what will win, nor do I really care. Best games I played this year were Chrono Trigger and Assassins of Kings. That's enough to keep me entertained while people bicker over this.
