[QUOTE="Ninja-Hippo"]Every new Halo game gets the same 'they've ruined the game!' treatment before it's even out. Wasdie
This isn't like other Halo games though.
Removing arena shooter elements like map control, having instant spawning (no penalty to die), perks, sprint, x-ray vison, medals for not actually killing people (in an arena shooter no less)...
The only good thing is the ability to join mid-game. The rest of it is moving so far away from Halo it's stupid.
The medals for not getting kills, x-ray vision, the perks, and the instant spawning are all there to bridge the skill gap.
Halo 2 used ranking systems to bridge skill gaps. It wasn't perfect, but you played with people around your same skill level. This made it a lot of fun for everybody. Now developers decided that taking ranks away from people was a bad idea and they just have to make the game more balanced for people who aren't any good.
That's because the industry dictates that you have to design multiplayer games to cater to people who are bad. F*ck balance, f*ck a ranking system, f*ck anything that forces you to do anything but create the most broken loadout you can and hold down the trigger. It's terrible. ON the other hand, though, given how hard 343 royally f*cked Reach once they took over, I can't say I'm surprised.
