@Bread_or_Decide: word, I remember the sprint dash and bursting through walls while I dropped down and ground pounded some dudes in halo ce

Looks dated and dull. Nothing new or exciting to shake up the same old same old Halo gameplay.
Cool, that's the opposite of what the players have been saying in their articles. But your opinion is more valid, since you've only seen a video, and haven't played that build.
Having split screen co-op would had definitely appealed to that demographic (I think its 16y/o and below as at School there's nothing better than to play co-op with a friend) but being out of School no one has the time or if they do its only for one day a week, so for myself and I believe those out of school, couch co-op isn't a big deal.
I'm looking forward to playing this online co-op, far easier to jump online and play with friends, no one has time anymore to meet up and make a whole day of it, unless of course you dont have work to go to.
My freinds and I get together once a week on Fridays or Saturdays for some split screen multiplayer. Halo 5 is trash without it.
Do you still go to school? And like always, how many people do what you and your friends do? Is it a viable option for 343i to build in couch co-op just to please the few that have the time to do it? You honestly think 343i did the research and if found that millions did couch co-op, they just decided to screw over those people? No, they did the research, found that couch co-op is dead, and decided that its not worth the time, money and effort into building it into the game. Why the hell would a company spend resources for something that no one uses?
It looks good but I'm still kind of bothered by this forced squad bullshit. I think that's fallout from their determination to turn Halo into an almost exclusively MP franchise with a faint nod to the SP campaign.
I also believe that's why the graphics suffer a bit in Halo 5, it's crucial to them to hit 60fps for this whole Halo esports push nonsense and the fact they have squad members constantly on screen meant they had to tone down the graphics. Still hoping it will be an amazing game but mixed feelings at the moment.
Looks dated. In other words, its a poor man's Destiny which isn't even great to begin with.
At this point it's seems like you're trying to convince yourself moreso than others with these views... You're losing it...
What can you expect though from a guy who does nothing but talk shit about Destiny yet just spent another $35 on it for removed base content sold to him as an expansion lol...
I want to say this again. If I want to play Halo with my friends I have to tell them to GO HOME. Because there is no longer any local multiplayer I have to fucking tell my friends to GO HOME if they want to play. That's fucked up is it not? **** you 343 your pieces of anti social shit. Games dead to me without split screen. An absolute disgrace to the Halo franchise.
Technical limitations, get that through your thick skull and take a hike...
@sailor232: No I work five days a week and have parties mostly every weekend where we do this stuff. Why include split screen even if the majority don't use it? Because it's Halo. And a significant portion of people still... Y'know socialize in person. Fuckers...
No the majority of gamers don't live that kind of life, and to say "because its Halo" makes no sense, it will still be a useless feature that the majority wont use. Great for you to have parties and friends every weekend, that's obviously not how everyone lives as 343i would had done research to prove it. Otherwise they would had put the feature in the game. Couch co-op has been dead for a very very long time now, people haven't cared for ages, I know you and your friends do, but there arent many people out there like you. I'm not bashing, in fact I'm jealous, those days for myself are long past and I wish they wernt, but even if I had friends over still every weekend, I would still recognize that I am a one in a thousand that live that type of life, I would accept that couch co-op is gone.
@silversix_: it was good enough for you to spend $40 for patches.
You forgot the original game and dlc 2, it was $35 as well, not $40. Funny how this $35 spent is more worthy than the biggest MS series, tho.
@nyadc: Bullshit. 343 are incompetent, lazy devs. That's all there is to it.
No, it's a technical limitation, they've already discussed it and the reasoning, end of discussion.
Play online and stop moaning like an entitled princess, your whining will change nothing.
@mems_1224: We have bombfires every weekend it's how we wrap up the night.
@nyadc: And tell my friends to go home if they want to play five. Thanks 343. MCC it is...
Bombfires lol? I think you mean bonfires...
You won't be missed with the rest of us moving into the future. You're free to leave the discussion now, it no longer pertains to you as you've just made your exit clear.

How dare 343i not cater to you Motokid6, may they burn for all eternity for such sacrilege. Honestly, grow the hell up and realize you are not the only person in the world that needs to be catered for.

co-op existed because online play wasn't relevant. with online play, co-op is not needed. the days of people "coming over to share a screen" are pretty much dead. why would I do that when i can play with friends and chat with them and have a full screen to myself online?
No matter how fun it is I'm guessing it won't be able to do better on metacritic than a score in the 80s. Critics are just tired of it.

Exactly, and 343i would have done the research to show that this is true. The only company semi keeping couch co-op alive is Nintendo, and they are struggling.
I expect a mid 80's score on metacritics.
91-92 I'd guess.
Legend's prediction is more realistic.
Based upon what?
Based on 91-92 Metacritic score being difficult to achieve and potential franchise fatigue. Bayonetta 2 and Bloodborne got 91-92 Metacritic scores and I don't see Halo 5 being as well received as those games. Also, the campaign footage looks good, but it hardly looks like it's going to be setting the world on fire.

They seem to be almost completely focused on MP so I'm guessing the SP will bring in a score of low 80s at best.

clearly you haven't paid attention to how much they are putting into the campaign

As a massive Halo fan I've been latching on to any Halo 5 news and interviews and videos I can find and it seems to me making Halo 5 squad based feeds into their MP focus which for me is a bit disappointing.
It might be the best Halo SP campaign ever created we don't know, nobody has played it yet but the vibes they send out are the campaign is a means to an end all they ever talk about is MP and esports and other stuff I don't care about.

This right here. Looks like a good game but nothing mind blowing. This coming from a huge Halo fan. I expect an 8 from GS and a MC score of 84-88
@blueinheaven:
Halo4 SP is awesome, so, I think Halo5 SP will do just fine.
You might be right my friend, I hope you are.

well you haven't followed much apparently. The "squad based" is kinda irrelevant. 1st off, it's no different then gears SP, halo has always had co-op campaigns except this time if you don't play with people, you get AI teammates. And it also fits directly into the story and where it's going. Why having a team of soldiers with you makes it "not focused on SP" in your mind is beyond me. Plus if you played the halo's, chief did have AI soldiers with him a lot. they just die in fights and you get more or you go rescue them and they fight with you until you die, hell they've even driven vehicles and used the mounted guns on warthogs.
As far as the SP campaign goes, yes people have played it (portions of it) and all gotten positive impressions. There are gameplay videos, they are keeping the story mostly a secret which is good. I don't want spoilers, but they've been pushing that it'll be huge.

As I said earlier, from what I've seen/read so far, it's looking great... and I'm very excited (for the campaign)!
However, I have a slight concern about the fact that they seem to be making a big deal about the co-op feature in the campaign, and saying that the levels were designed with co-op in mind. I just hope that for those of us who will be playing it solo, it won't feel like it's meant to be played in co-op.
But it's only a slight concern. I'm sure it's going to be amazing!

This may be cause for concern. Hope it turns out good though.
it's polygon take everything even praise from them with a grain of salt. also this look promising a quote from 4GamersHQ "Mission 2 and mission 10 together took me about 90 minutes to finish." keep in mind they were not even playing the whole mission
