First Halo game with micro transactions. First Halo game where they talk about revenue but refuse to comment on how many units sold. Pretty obvious that sales are lackluster and all the cash is coming from idiots buying helmets n shit lol!

Example:
"With the highest week one attach rate for a Microsoft first party title on Xbox One, the game was the most played of any game on Xbox One, as well as the most played on Xbox Live.
WTF does that mean? Why isn't it "The highest week one attach rate for ANY GAME OF THE XBOX ONE?
Did Titanfall or Watch Dogs do better on the system?
This is one of the spinniest PR I have witnessed in a long time.
I am sure Halo 5 did pretty great, but why the need of such spin?
and currently the highest rated Xbox One exclusive, first-person shooter game of 2015, according to Metacritic.
This is a very WTFish moment.
It is a very WTFish moment.
THe fact that the restricted this "accomplishment" to only XO-exclusive FPS's strongly implies that Titanfall performed better on the system in spite of having a much smaller install base to work with.
I'm not sure if they actually count titanfall as an exclusive. It definitely beat titanfall in the US(I think halo 5 probably sold 1+ million when it launched), but I'm not sure about worldwide yet.

Pretty obvious you are mad and salty about it like your brethren cows. Do you really think that many helmets sold? Think man. Your damage control is off the charts.
Say hi to your mom for me.
@misterpmedia: yessir. Not like your beloved Sony gives all news and shit in there history straight up now. But I get ya. Its SW, and you don't like this side so you gotta do what you do.
I don't really care, Sony's PR isn't an art like MS's is. MS truly has them beat in that area, nothing to spin there ;)(boom). They are truly the kings of hiding the real deal. If you check the first page I actually congratulate MS on their fantastic PR spin occasion. I even think it probably stole the show from the Halo information!
TBH I was hoping it would bomb and MS would be compelled to release it on PC to help make money. I guess this blows the shit out of that idea. ;)
Regardless of the spin and what makes the total, MS are still looking at shifting close to 500,000 Xbox Ones and several million copies of Halo 5 in a week. That's a win in anyone's book.
I wonder how Sony's big hitter Uncharted 4 will compare next year?
Found this interesting data :
There is one stat we can compare with Halo 3 / Halo 4.
Halo 3 "Within the first day of its launch, “Halo 3” players worldwide racked up more than 3.6 million hours of online gameplay, which increased more than elevenfold to 40 million hours by the end of the first week,"
40 million hours in first week for Halo 3
Halo 4 "with over 4 million players in the first five days. Users spent a total of 31.4 million hours playing “Halo 4,”
31.4 million hours in first week for Halo 4
Halo 5 "Fans have logged more than 21 million hours of total gameplay, including 12 million hours in campaign mode alone."
21 million hours in the first week for Halo 5
Almost half less hours in Halo 5. Well then
So either Halo 5 didn't sell as well as Halo 3 so far, or people got bored of Halo 5 really fast and stopped playing it within a week?
@Suppaman100:
You have Nothing to say because:
1. You're butthurt jelly
2. You're an idiot
3. TCHBO
Crawl back to your room and play your PS4, better yet go play Twisted Metal, Motorstorm, Socom 4, Wipeout, God of War 3, Killzone 2-3 and the rest of the exclusives on PS3 to make yourself feel better.

Damn, didn't know Halo 5 flopping would have this effect on lemmings...
Don't shoot the messenger lemming.
And it's clear you're on level 4.
Some perspective:
Destiny made $500,000,000 in 24 hours, JUST software sales. No hardware, no micro-transactions. Split between other consoles
Halo 5 did $400,000,000 in 168 hours combining software, console bundles, related hardware, and possibly micro-transactions. Only on one console.
We're looking at the very real possibility that Destiny managed to outperform Halo 5 on the Xbox One.
EDIT: Nvm, I forgot that the Destiny figures were extremely misleading.
@Suppaman100:
Seems you and most Cowturds in here are more angrier than ever (as usual), which explains your big pretentious pictures and gifs on your post.
Lol, try harder at trying harder. Kiddo. You're pathetic sad desperate comebacks will only amuse me further.
bu bu bu bubu but....
But nothing lol. They still made a bunch of money. They just spinning where that money came from.
The money came from the king of console exclusives. There is no stopping Halo, period.
Yeha, but was it all software? No, they are mixing hardware sales and sales from collectors additions, which contain extras that aren't software. Plus microtransactions. So it's difficult to determine exactly how many copies actually sold. I mean you'd have to believe that Halo 5 sold about 6 Million copies already.
Even I on my biggest fanboy day, the way I joke around and the way I embellish certain things, know they did not sell 6 million copies. That is insane.
I'm sure its more like 5.8 million. I-P
Kamehame...
@draign: You only being able to say im saltly and that my grammer is wrong just proves that you have not one DIRECT response for the pr spin that i mentioned.
I mean those games can easily sell more cause those are multiplatform games. I don't know if Fallout will do it but definitely CoD. Fallout has been heavily marketed for the X1 also so it will be interesting what the sales breakdown of that game will be.
Nope. Not what I'm looking at.
Doesn't really matter what you are looking for, this was a statement that I wanted to see what the outcome will be.
@SecretPolice: Impressive but still ... was expected since most of X1 fans are all over HALO. Though many online and real life friends i personally talking to daily ... havent say tooooo many good things about HALO 5 in general...
So aside sales which are great ( we all knew more or less that would be the case beforehand ) lets see online activity after a while and games reception from die hard fans.
Any indication of online activity slowing down, 343 is just going to release another free map. It'll be like launch all over again.
Im talking about after a month or 2 or even more. Its then when you can tell if the online aspect of a game is a success or not.
@super600: definitely? Got proof? See here's one difference. When the Bloodborne did great and Sony was surprised thread was made, all I said was "come on Sony, you have the base, and you don't know how popular souls type games are"? But I was thrilled for them and devs and me being a consumer and player I was for myself.
You cows can't do it though. You can't just be thrilled for the industry, the fellow gamers on SW who are loving this game.
I know there are lens just as bad. But like any team in front, there are more on that side because humans are inherently insecure. Then there are the closet fanboys but we all know them.
I don't care how MS included hardware is what I'm saying....fanboys like yourself can use it all they want. They ( and you ) are using MS's words but failing miserably as either way you spin it it's a win.
I didn't say "I"...I said folks but now that you mention it I am happy with the franchise....great game. You should dry your tears and play it.
Was just informing fanboys like yourself, is all. Just in case people get lost in the spin which many(and you) have already succumbed to in the thread, which is incredible to be fair though it is triple AAA spin lol. For the game itself who knows how it really did. The franchise is doing well, good job for the other things that are obfuscating the real deal picked up the slack along side!
So dry your tears, Halo could well be saved! You didn't have to say 'I', I already know you're a xbone fanboy.
I am a fan of the Xbox brand...I have enjoyed it since the OG....but I am not blind and I enjoy Playstation games as well, I own a PS3 & PS4.....but since the middle of last gen I have been big on building and upgrading my PC and playing 90% of multiplats on that. Just a brief history of myself for you because actually you don't know ;)
LOL this thread has just gotten way too funny. One side is gloating and the other is trying to find some way, shape or form to twist the good sales of Halo around to make it seem negative lol.....
@Heil68: Well besides the AAA on LOCK only to AA FLOP.
No AAAE 9.0 Editors Choice award.
still getting yours and my playing time.
I love my Floplo 5!!!!!!!!! Hahahahahahahahahahahaha
see you with chickenfriedrice bro
4 pages reached in 4 hours of a thread on halo's revenue of 400$ mil.. are we seeing a pattern here? maybe it's accurate to predict halo 5 sold 4 mil?
ah, why am i wasting my time on this? system wars will be system wars.. now back to playing forza

Certain games like splatoon in the past have sold around 10X the amount they sold in the UK in the US since the UK market is smaller than the US market. If this pattern is applied to halo 5 it should be at 1.5 million at least right now. It looks very likely that halo 5 broke a million and maybe even 2 million at this point, but there is not enough data to determine this.
@tushar172787:
It's very unlikely halo 5 sold 4 million by now. It's likely that it could reach 4 million by the end of the year.
haha, just assuming on the coincidences :P
Is this sold to retailers or sold to consumers? If the former, it's possible that retailers over
haha you beat my thread by like 20 seconds.
@charizard1605- - it includes hardware sales though, so that figure wont work too well. though if you take away software sales from that, well then i guess it would make it a system seller
so basically TCHBO that is all.
How have the cows been owned? Didn't the cows expect Halo to sell well?
I'm confused:
So is the current argument that Halo is so unpopular that most of it's sales come from people dumping loads of money on microtransactions?
If so, this is low - even for system wars standards.
Is this sold to retailers or sold to consumers? If the former, it's possible that retailers over

-------------------------------------------------
Bottom line is, MS knew the series has been languishing. This is why they have chosen to monetize it with RMT, $250/$100/$60 editions of the game, a $500 hardware bundle, a special edition controller, and even a Halo branded headset. They may have even gone so far as to lump all of their normal XBox One hardware sales into that weekly figure as the statement leaves that completely open to interpretation.
I have never called into question MSes ability to monetize the Halo franchise. I have called into question Halo's status as a system seller. If we look at the PR releases regarding Halo 3 compared to Halo 5, it may have sold damn near half as many software units on top of everything else. Needless to say, my jimmies have not been rustled. At least, not yet. It sure as hell ain't the campaign that's keeping people from filling that 19 million online hour play hole.
Pick one.
Neither. The main complain/concern/whatever is that the Halo franchise is declining, not outright dead. The fact that MS resorted to "Biggest Halo Launch Ever!" by inflating its $$$ figures with bundles, controllers, headsets, etc and NOT "Halo 5 is the best selling Halo game ever!" is... interesting.
