Halo does not deserve its hype

To me and many other people, halo is just an average FPS. yes, it is really good online, but aside from that, it's not very special. i just dont get why the hype about halo is so big. what are your thoughts?biggamerhk

I agree. But if Halo is to earn all it's hype and glory for me, it would ned to fix it's Single Player Mode. Both Halo 1 and 2 felt lackluster to me. If it wasn't for their online modes, they would be terrible games in my opinion...

No... Cod4 rofl, the most overhyped game of this gen ... its just more of the same.

It's got enough history to deserve its hype. You and these many other people might think it's just average, but many more people will find this game very good, both casual and gamers alike.

You never played Halo - you're fatal flaw and many others who try to down play Halo is saying something like " yeah its a good on-line MP " but if you knew better you would know Halo was not on-line at all.

The first Halo made it on SP alone and was a hell of a ride and many like myself are hyped to ......Finish The Fight...... in the SP campaign.

Halo series deserves every bit of hype it gets - seems almost impossible but I'm hoping it can live up to the hype in fact I'm betting on it ! :)

without any evidence to support your opinions you might as well be speaking gibberish.

The two previous halo's sold around 7 million apiece on a system that only sold 20 million consoles. That's the highest penetration rate for a game since mario 64.

Not one single major publication gave this game lower than a 90%. Mind you these are people who make gaming a profession, and they have a whole article supporting their opinion not just a few baseless sentenses with some generic terms.

Also check out the numbers of people still playing halo 2 online (I'm sure many break out halo 1 on a regular basis also but I got no proof). Really don't you think if it was crap they would of found something better by now.

Why is it hard to believe that the flagship title that's now a massive franchise doesn't deserve the hype? I never even bothered with single player Halo 2 but i still rate the game AAA played it for 3 years online that's more than any console game since golden eye. And saying it's for casuals is plain naive since I used to play a lot of counter strike, Quake arena and UT online. Why would a pc FPS fan go to lesser controls? You tell me probably because its good fun and community based.

I never cared for MGS I think the first game sucked so didn't bother with the rest, Final Fantasy??? Bored me. Gran Tarismo??? Nah car sims aren't for me boring devil may cry? wow suckage. Do I think these games don't deserve hype hell no if you're a fan of one of these games I can totally see why people can't wait for MGS 4 its next gen it finishes the story adds more features .......wait just like Halo 3.

Lets face facts graphically its good not great but game play wise its 4 player co-op this will score the single player high and get me playing it again period. Second multiplayer we know the beta was good now add all the extra stuff they never showed us add in new weapons customizable characters the vehicle and zombie style game modes. Then add in the clan features plus match making and ranks top that with sharing videos and machinima videos that will be made and finally sprinkle with the customizable forge mode where you literary create your own multiplayer games and share them too.

Your looking at a 9.5 at least from game spot hate on it all you want but face facts its hyped because its the best multiplayer experience on a console ever has been since Halo 2 still is now and Halo 3 will top that. Simple dispute it find a better multiplayer game for consoles with the features it has resistance? Close but nope Gears? nope rainbow 6 ? Nope all good games don't come close though sorry..... There's your answer!

The original was the only thing I played for nearly a year it was that good even though I had a Gamecube at the same time.

Actually I did spend a little time with Rogue Leader in-between sessions of Covenant ownage.

Halo was a great game and an influence on many now great FPS's even ones now on the 360 to me Halo was great for its time and it was so good that they had to come out with a sequel unfortunatly H2 had a "short and sweet" campaign which all in all was not very S-A-T-I-S-F-Y-I-N-G, and could have been much better + H2 had sucky weapons what they did to the pistol was heartbreaking:cry: still online multiplayer and regular multiplayer was cool maybe they won't "screw up" on the campaign this time and have an even better multiplayer with stronger and more reliable killing weapons also it'll look goood in HD LOL

For me Halo 3 will have everything I loved about halo 2 on the xbox and more for the 360.Plusthe story issuppose to be deep.Thats all i really want from halo 3, a fun game.

Halo 3 = best character design of any FPS ever

Halo 3 = complete replay video and picture mode ( critical to the awesomness of this game and a first)

Halo 3 = Massive battles featuring upwards of 32 enemies on screen and 4 player coop.... have fun with 12 onscreen and limited level design in KZ2.

In which case he would've failed. Playing a game two years after it's out is hardly conductive to realizing it's true value. I could say Doom is a lackluster game because I played Doom 64 or Doom XBLA. I wouldn't be particularly bright if I did, would I?

Instead ended up on Xbox and was criticaly acclaimed by 99.99999% of the gaming media - yet now a Rabid hermit such as he must strike out at Halo & MS and his poor feelings were hurt - friggin boo hoo - buy a 350.00 console and get the heck over it !
