I've never understood why people were comparing these two series. They have nothing in common...
1. Halo is just a basic FPS, that only got attention because it was one of the first console FPS to achieve minimal quality standards..
2. Metroid is an amazing mixture of exploration, platforming, puzzles, great atmosphere, with some neat boss fights thrown in. The game has absolutely no equivalent, anywhere.

Exaggeration?
They aren't comparable they aren't in the same genre.
But I would say Metroid for everything except Multiplayer (I have yet to play Hunters but I didn't like Echoes Multiplayer)
Actually I haven't played a lot of Metroid games only Zero Mission, Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
But I didn't play every Halo either I stopped after Halo 3.
Well, I guess they are the same since they are in space and have a protagonist in a suit (both of which don't looks terribly different from each other).

Exaggeration?
Well, not really.. When you're used to PC standards, Halo is really mediocre as a FPS.. Whereas Metroid Prime has no equivalent, on PC or console.
Pretty much this.Metroid b/c is has a better story and doesn't have annoying 12 yearolds plus samus would kill master chief's ass

Now the question is, what story? I'm a huge fan of the series and I own every game from Metroid NES to Prime series on GC in their original form but one thing they all lack is story just like every other franchise coming from Nintendo. Other M was the first one to have a story but they had to ruin it with ridiculous plot devices....
Metroid or Hot Pockets Go!
I'm gonna have to go with Hot Pockets. Anything that cooks in under 3 minutes cannot be beat by a chick with a gun sorry Samus.

also the prime series let you scan items to collect info to piece together a story.
Fusion had a great story so did hunters. All of them had a story actually. It wasn't a story that was written out for you but more of a journey-esque sotry in the way that the game let you piece it together and interpret the thing soyu found as you wished but still steared you towards a certain conclusion.[QUOTE="Jonwh18"]

not crammed with dialogue and cutscenes =/= no story.I am a huge fan of both franchises and I have played just about every game in both series but it is a waste of time comparing both franchises. They have very minimal comparisons.
Halo - I find the franchise more enjoyable. istreakforfood
Lol wow. Fanboys will be fanboys I suppose. Metroid is so much more enjoyable for me, though. This coming from an ex-Halo fan, an avid one at that.
Not really similair but Halo dominates Metroid

Someone liking a game makes them a fanboy?! As much as I dislike the halo people who think their game is godly, I dislike people like you more for thinking someone is a fanboy of a game because they like it more than another. Where is the logic? I like halo more than metroid, but in general I'm not a huge halo fan what does that make me?There is no question: One is among the greatest games ever created, and a masterpiece of atmosphere, storytelling, mechanics, and level design. The other is Halo 2.Reminds me of 2004... when FPS fans would argue over whether Halo 2 or Metroid Prime 2 is the better game.

I suppose I went overboard with the first comment, I apologize for making such a brash statement towards him, but the second one was more called for, because he says it with so much confidence as if it were hard fact when its really not.[QUOTE="Nfan89"][QUOTE="Arbiterisl33t69"]Someone liking a game makes them a fanboy?! Halo why I do love metroid I didnt find metorid until I had read all the halo books, giving me a deeper understanding of the story, which for me Halo has, Sci fi opera wise, then again metroid has a hot space chick......... Yeah I am going with both
