Agreed. They need to make it so you can access all playlists without downloading maps. Um what melee woes? The BXB will be gone(double melee) that was a glitch, and the melee itself is even less powerful than it ever was. If you have a shield(even 1% shield) it will kill the shield first. You'll still have to melee them again if you want to kill. Assassinations are from behind kills and that's more than fair game for an instant kill. I fail to see how it hurts the games playability. The melee system they had to implement in leiu of dedicated server support. The one where the game doesn't even attempt to discern who activated their melee first and instead awards you both with the hit, and sometimes the kill too. It's the dumbest thing ever, and it doesn't happen in any other FPS I can think of. Have you ever stabbed someone in COD while at the same time getting stabbed by the player you're stabbing andthen both of you dying? No, because a system that stupid isn't functional. Unlessit's a Halo game, I guess.[QUOTE="jg4xchamp"][QUOTE="THETRUEDOZAH"]
75% chance no 24.9% chance hell no.1% chance maybe. I don't want to buy anything with Microsoft's name attached to it after this year's E3 if I can help it. Plus there's that whole thing with Halo games where you really only own the full game for the first month or so, then you've got to start paying extra or your going to get cut from playlists. There's still been no word of an acceptable solution to their melee system woes, in fact they actually added a lenghtyassassinaton animation, just pointless flash and show that detracts from the game's actual playability. Been there, played that, bored of it.

Assassinations should be insta-kills, but in Reach they aren't. They lock you into an animation, removing your mobility and thus making you vunerable. If I got rewarded for taking someone downby somebody else coming up behind me while I was immobilized and then assassinating me, that would be the end of Halo: Reach for me. I can already see it happening, and it pisses me off, just the concept, the idea that the situation is such that this is even a possibility, it infuriates me. I am infuriated.
You don't HAVE to do the animation, you know that right?
They implimented it as an extra measure of ownage. It's like tea-bagging in previous Halo games, or the taunts you can do in Team Fortress 2. Purely optional. If you're doing the animation while surrounded by enemies that's your own fault if you get killed.

And I like the vulnerability. It gives a teammate a chance to save you, and it's a nice risk and reward system. Also you can quick melee someone to death from behind(no animation needed) I honestly don't see an issue with that to be quite frank. As for the tie system yeah I guess that could use some work, but meh it does the job for the most part. The other systems were far more stupid, and I'd rather have this. Besides the melee didn't seem pretty forgiving to give you a tie. Honestly thought the melee system was much better than the one they had in 3.Ok, so I'm wrong about the assassination thing. That's good to know.
The simultaneous hit is still garbage though. Complete and utter garbage. It began as a temporary solution to solve host-advantage problems and hasn't been altered simply because they haven't been able to think of anything better.
THETRUEDOZAH
What would be better?

first person to melee wins. Simple as that. Dedicated serrvers for the matchmaking so you eliminate the host advantage that comes with the current system.[QUOTE="thom_maytees"]

Yes. You and AdolbeArtist have usernames similar to prominent users AdobeArtist and Dracula68.
Why do people even do that anyways? is mitu124. You tell me.-I pretty sure anyone that is planning to get halo reach already has a xbox 360. And im pretty sure that anyone that didn't pick up a xbox 360 for halo 3 isn't going to pick one up for halo reach.
and might I add that buying a game console for 1 game is....well...dumb.
Meh halo.
I passed on ODST i'll probably pass on this tooAnimal-Mother
I guess Bungie really screwed up, they really shouldn't have released that blatant spin-off/expansion pack with the same engine as Halo 3 priced 60 dollars because of MS. Now everyone thinks Reach will be the same as ODST, as in another crappy spin-off.
At its core,it looks like it is just more of the same to be honest.
UnknownSniper65
Are you trying to say the same can't be said for KZ2, b/c last I checked shooting in corridors with heavy controls was done already in KZ1. Let's not forget other games now
Actually a lot of things but it's your choice.I have survived 10 years without buying a Halo game. What makes this one any different?
Timstuff
Hell yes. It's so hard to find good zombie matches in Halo 3. I'm hoping with everyone playing Reach it will be easy again.
I'll probably end up getting it... just cuz I have a ton of money to blow (that's what happens when you're a real adult). But... I'm not too excited about it. Still gotta beat SMG2, FF13 and RDR first. Sucks to have to work so much but that's life.
So there are Halo fanboys who think the franchise is so powerful that PS3 owners will run out and buy a 360 just for Halo Reach.
Last time I checked, PS3 has several great exclusives. I doubt there's any jealousy on their part.

Hey relax, if you don't have the means to purchase a console it's okay, but some of us real adults can actually pull that kind of money out of our checking account w.o crying to much. Just say yes or No. Thank you
At first I was pretty excited for the game and probably willing to buy a 360, but after playing the beta and seeing more of it, I just lost the excitement. Its still probably going to be a good game but not for me.
Halo has lost its legs. It's not the same for me anymore. While I still have my Xbox 360, I will not be buying it. I've played the Beta, and it's just isn't Halo anymore. It's just a lame excuse to slap the Halo name on a decent series, that has not kept up with the time.

I own a 360. I'm not a big Halo fanby, but yes I'll probably get Reach. I don't own a PS3. MGS4 looks absolutely amazing and wish it was on 360, but I wouldn't spend that kind of money to buy a PS3 just to play one game. If I bought a PS3, it would be for all the great looking exclusives, not for one title. I can't see cows buying a 360 for ONE game.
You won't be able to play Halo 2 anymore on LIVE, and this game is nothing like Halo 3 or 2. If it's more of the same, then that same logic applies to Mario, MGS, Zelda, FF, COD, (actually it might apply to COD) :|i played the beta, it was cool but i have zero interest in this game. i still have halo2 if i need my halo fix. this game is just more of the same.
Laxer04
Uh, it IS kept up with the time, and does a lot of stuff no other FPS on consoles does. What else do you want?Halo has lost its legs. It's not the same for me anymore. No matter how good a game may be there will always be complainers and the ones that hate on Halo b/c they don;t want to like what everyone likes. Honestly it doesn't matter if you get the game or not, either way the game will do very well. Also I hear alot of people saying "It's the Same Game". Like I told that other guy, please let me borrow your time machine and if this is the same game, then what are all the Mario games or Pokemon games, or etc. There are far more worse milked franchises that don't change anything. *cough* KZ2
