Halo Series Reaches 65 Million Units Sold
What a juggernaut.
I know it's not entirely fair to compare (because different genres and the fact Halo had 6 year of a headstart) them but the biggest active flagship Sony franchise* is currently at:
Uncharted Series Reaches 21 Million Units Sold
The question is: are these sales deserved in your opinion?
I can admit Halo sometimes gets too much of benefit of the doubt when it comes to Metacritic scores, but overall I've found the series to be consistently very good. I even enjoyed Halo 4 and didn't notice what the fuss was all about, actually.
Anyway, I think this is the only blockbuster type of a FPS that is kind of commercialized and always sells well - that I enjoy. I cannot say the same for Call of Duty or Battlefield.
That means, Halo gets something right, at least in my opinion. The game is accessible, has a wide appeal, however, I also think it requires a surprising amount of skill to play it on Legendary or to succeed in multiplayer.
Anyway, what are your thoughts?
Can Halo 5 make it 70 million this year?
* of course it's not the biggest LTD franchise in their catalogue, but definitely their bigger seller nowadays and the game that still gets sequels in more or less equal intervals
