I completely agree with the melee complaint. I dont know what on earth they were thinking with that crap. Honestly, was there anything wrong with melee in halo 1? Did you hear a single complaint? Never. But they change it in Halo 2 to a stupid lunge. Then in Halo 3, rather than just put it back they make it worse.
Have they never thought of simple is better? Does the act of punching someone in the face really need a "system" to manage itself? Is it not just an obvious matter of "you have x health, my fist will cause x damage. That is more than you have. You will die."
Noooo, let's have some rediculous system whereby even if your melee is powerful enough to kill, your opponant will survive because they had more health than you.
Rediculous.
LOL. 9.5 AAA. You lose. The game is great. Move on.

every person has the right to criticise. I for one think Halo 3 sucks, both graphically and depth.
Melee makes sense... The person with more Health has more stamina and can counter-attack and rather then actually take a full hithe sort of blocks and hits due to being less exhausted from battle.AntikytheraMech
It makes no sense at all.
You have five point of health left. I have four.
I smack you in the face, doing ten points of damage. You are now dead.
BUT WAIT. Because you had more health than me you magically survive and attack me; i now die.
Thats rediculous. If you do enough damage to kill, the other player should die. It really is that simple.

I agree, I was thinking I was lagged since I kept rushing up to people, meleeing them and still dying.
I really liked the ending, I don't know what these guys were expecting.DaysAirlines
I disagree with them on that. I think the ending was perfect. The fight was indeed finished. Just because the entire halo universe wasn't sealed up and abandoned for no future games at all doesn't mean bungie broke their promise.

Unreal, bioshock, and Half Life and HALO 1, thats AAA Material.
Halo is just the same thing, about the "flood", oh yeh, not to mention that Halo 1, 2 and 3 have got some of the same enemies. How about graphics? utterly suck. The main character a beefed up green power ranger and forms allies with sum freak of nature to take on the bad guys. You gotta go through alot to save sum microchip chick named Cortana or what ever that womans name was. Just because you like Halo 3 and you think it deserved its godly score, doesnt mean other will think the same way. People who obsess over halo are just easily impressed.

Yeah but the way the ended it wasn't very interesting or original. You basically push a button, activate Halo and escape with a warthog but instead of driving inside a spaceship like in Halo: CE, you get to drive over miles of generic falling plates...REALLY disappointed the crap out of me....

Universally praised by reviewers. Seriously, just stop.

Numbers 10, 9, 6 and the collision detection issue in 7 can be fixed with a simple patch and some behind-the-scenes tinkering. Patching these days can do tons of stuff if people are willing to complain enough... look at Battlefield 2's endless revisions and the Warhawk patch later this month. Not to mention, some of the stuff on that list wasn't worth noting at all. The 640p issue is so ridiculous - the most it does is create a few more jaggies, which may or may not appear depending on the TV.

I agree that it can all be fixed with a patch; it was the second part i questioned. Bungie never respond to fan complaints. They make the game how they want it and if you disagree with anything tough. Just look at the comments on the site in the whatsupdate.
A guy who propsed a new system for team chat instead of having to push a button just got "thats a terrible idea" in response. Complaints about the sniper just got "suck it up, its harder to use now."

You HONESTLY expect them to put sway while ADS with a sniper fle on a CONSOLE game? Call of Duty 2 attempted it, and the results were horrid. It IS harder to use, believe itor not, as they removed any and all aim-assisted features.

Whether or not its harder to use than the previous game I could care less. The sniping in Halo is EXTREMELY easy without sway. That's because you're a spartan super soldier. It'd be kinda dumb if it was swaying all over the place.
It is much harder to use than in Halo 2 however; where it was literally a shooting gallery. The rate of fire is much lower and there's less auto-aim.

Maybei was expecting too much from Halo 3, i dunno, but personally i do not like it in many ways, not to mention it is rediculously short (5 hours on Normal mode?), and yet people criticise Heavenly Sword from being short. I agree Bioshock lacks replay value, but imo, so does Halo. Half Life is just amazing in every way.
Ok, my rant to Halo 3:
- Poor melee combat
- Too Short
- Graphics were no better than Resistance (and dont call me a cow just because i said that), with that said, it should run at 60FPS since graphically is wasnt that impressive
- Some enemies have been just copied and dumped in Halo 3
- Story was good, but not great
- Every game has to refer back to "the flood".
Halo 1 was epic, i loved it, but after that, i lost interest in the whole series. I actually prefer Darkness over Halo 3. Its more ruff, more cool, and the graphics are much better.
Obviously no one read my post right..... And I guess MC didn't learn CQB in his years of training. It is called a Counter Attack. Ever see a weaker guy try and hit some one that isn't tired? They can easily block get hurt but still make a massive blow a second later.. AntikytheraMechI might find that explanation viable if they actually blocked.

Have you played Riddick? I hear they are remaking it, and adding multiplayer for the xbox 360 and ps3 :).
I completely agree with issues 8,7,6, and 4, the others not so much. These should be fixed, and hopefully can with an update, because of these reasons, I'm starting to get fed up with Halo 3 multiplayer at the moment, 2/10 matches are good.
Another problem is i tend to play social more than ranked, i find it more relaxed and less serious(basically more fun), but i hate it how when 3 captains or more are in the match they seem to be all on the same team, whats up with that, while are teams left with people new to the game with low ranks, and no they weren't all in the same party before. I though matchmaking was meant to make the teams balanced.
Still Halo 3 is an amazing game, and with these problems fixed it should make it even better.
:: SPOILERS ::
My main problem was the amount of plot holes that seemed to exist within the story. (If someone can correct me here, please do, I might not have paid proper attention or it might be answered in a novel).
For example:
Why did Gravemind send the entire Flood through to the Arc? Why didn't he destroy Earth, or at least leave some parasites there to infect it (I remember Shipmaster mentioning earlier a single parasite could infect an entire planet). Why did he completely screw himself by putting all his eggs in one basket.
Why weren't there any Forerunner alive on the Arc, if it was out of range of all the Halos and all the Flood.
Why wasn't the MC killed when the Halo ring fired/exploded and his half of the ship couldn't get through the portal?
How did the Arbiter and Johnson get back to Earth BEFORE the Master Chief, who was in orbit at the end of Halo 2 while they were at the Delta Halo control room? How much time passed between the two games?
Today's word is, "Retcon"! Yay plothole magic.:: SPOILERS ::

He didn't. If you remember, you detonated a ship's fusion cores and glassed half of Africa to wipe out the flood infestation there. "We'll have to destroy this city.... or risk losing the whole planet."
If you find the seven terminals, there's an ongoing love story between a forerunner ship master and his wife who constructs the arc. She speaks of how she buries it deep where it can never be found before settling on a mountain to live out her last days.
The halo ring didn't fire remember. It wasn't ready yet. It collapsed in on itself and "did a number on the arc".
Lastly; who knows? They were with the monitor. He's always teleporting people all over the place.

I mean when he comes in High Charity through the portal towards the end. He seems happy to spam Flood pods everywhere on the Arc, couldn't he have done that on every major population centre on Earth?
Also I never read that love story thing, I used the Terminals on Legendary and got that wacky AI's narrative.

There were hardly any flood on the infected Covenant capital ship, and spreading their thin numbers like that would NOT be the best course of action. His best bet was to have them infest a single area where they could repopulate.
My 2 gripes about Halo 3 having actually played it unlike this cow:
Flood- they are dumb and £%$$^ing boring to kill, booooooooo
Co-op - matchmaking non-existant for this and when you play with friends hardly anyone wants to do 4 player, unlike gears which had a darned good online co-op mode just needs more people on teh serverz
